  1. I'm honestly surprised that a rusty staple with what appears to be possible minor rust migration got a 9.2.
  2. Often the notes will omit obvious flaws and only include the more subtle ones.
  3. I travel to That's Entertainment a couple times a year for some deep-diving
  4. Yeah, that as well. Books didn't get shipped for like over a week. I don't mind that as much as the inaccurate grading, though. Guess I'll have to look elsewhere. They were my back-up after Mycomicshop.
  5. I had some "Standard" submission books from Silver/Bronze that came back surprisingly fast. Like, REALLY fast. Meanwhile, I have moderns from June I'm still waiting on.
  6. Yeah, I don't bother with the "offer" selections. As an aside, I've placed two orders with them in the last year, and was disappointed with the grading each time. These were raw books, mind you.
  7. I kind of loved Byrne's Superman revamp in the '80s. Your mileage may vary. As for the '90s, a few years ago I read the "World Without A Superman" year-ish long arc in the Superman family books, and was actually surprised by how solid the storytelling was.
  8. This rings way, way too familiar to me Especially NTT & MoS
  9. I dunno, the sig looks remarkably similar to that found on a SS CGC: Thanos Quest #1 CGC SS 9.6 NM+SIGNED BY JIM STARLIN Marvel Comics 1st Print 24885232325 | eBay
  10. Some people certainly do like to hear themselves talk.
  11. CGC really needs to come up with a way for customers to see the credit in their membership account and see when/how it was applied. I'm astonished by the lack of transparency with this.
  12. Found one - Dazzler 40 (1985) VFNM Newsstand 1st App Outriders MCU X-Men Comics FREE Shippin | eBay ($50?!!)
  13. Now show me the elusive Newsstand version of the #40 that 11-year-old me couldn't find!
  14. I went to CollectableCases and only found ones for cards. I also searched ComicVaults and came up with zilch Curious as to the price of these amazing cases.
  15. Slabs are not sealed with inert gas; in fact, they are not air-tight at all. The closest to this is probably the acid-absorbing paper they put inside the book before it's encapsulated.
  16. If it shows up as "scheduled for grading" on your list of submissions, then the timeframe would be whatever it currently says for the current turnaround time for Walkthru. If it hasn't been entered into the system yet, I would give it up to a week.
  17. I recall reading instructions to label walkthrough orders as "WK" and express as "EX" on the box. I've done that and my books have been processed accordingly (i.e. not sat unopened for over a month).
  18. Am I falsely recalling that Dazzler went direct-only after some time (as Alpha Flight did, and Power Pack would also later do)? I remember pulling my hair out when I couldn't find the Secret Wars II crossover issue at any of my newsstand outlets, but was able to get all the other crossover titles. I was a completist even then!
  19. I just had my first batch with scratches arrive. They are similar to what you show here, same placement and size, making me wonder if it's the same cause. I've decided to hold onto them. I waited so long already that it wouldn't be worth it to me for just one scuff. If they had multiple scratches on the same case, that would be another story.
