  1. Submitters have the option of purposely selecting a higher tier for faster TAT. CGC has no way of knowing if you sent in your book via a higher tier because that's what you thought it was worth, or because you wanted it back faster.
  2. I left around 1993 when starting college coincided with the huge comic book bust. I returned1999-ish around when Quesada was turning things around with his MK imprint at Marvel, and a roommate introduced me to Hitman and Starman (which had both been around for a while, but had not been on my radar). The combination of being impressed with Marvel Knights and being shown that DC had still been putting out quality material in the '90s brought me back.
  3. Here's my recent favorite. Speculators are hilarious. Fantastic Four 272 CGC 9.8 NM First appearance Nathaniel Richards 1st app | eBay
  4. Hugh Jackman sign on a Hulk #181... *shudder* By all means, have people scribble on key books. Makes the "virgin" ones harder to find. Sig collectors will pay a premium; others may find it a turn-off. For instance, if I was on the hunt for a key or an issue to fill a "hole" in a run, I would NOT be looking for a signature series book - I would want a Universal to match the rest of my collection.
  5. I would say 6.0-6.5, 7.0 tops. that's a lot of color-breaking creases on the spine. Press would get rid of the "ripples" along the top for better presentation, but the color breaks would still be there. Might give it a 0.5 bump.
  6. That sounds kinda scary, actually. Gonna have to fish that one out for a read.
  7. They're price errors and not Canadian editions? Interesting!
  8. GOOD LORD I just looked at FMV for Primer #2 on GoCollect..! *runs to dig thru my longboxes of indies*
  9. I also had two (three?) letters printed in The Walking Dead. I'll have to dig them out and post here
  10. Spine tick for me equals 9.4; color-breaking brings it down to a 9.2. I've also had Overstreet pounded into my head. Having said that, I have CGC books with those flaws that have graded higher than that, especially 9.6.
  11. It's highly likely I wouldn't even be able to detect/suspect pressing on any book, soooo.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  12. It must have been in another thread because I can't find it in this one, but somebody said that Rogue gets busted out of jail in ROM #31 after the events in Avengers Annual #10, which would mean it would make more sense to read that one first.
  13. I've wondered that myself. Obviously the length and severity of the bend will make a difference on the final grade. This kind of defect is the perfect candidate for pressing, which may get rid of the bend entirely. However, since I don't like the idea of waiting a year to get my book back, I don't get my books pressed.
  14. You will get a separate $5 handling charge for each invoice, so once it is split into tiers, a separate invoice will be created for each tiered order with its own $5 charge.
  15. I second the Grand Comic Database.
  16. Though it does not state so on the submissions page, an admin did recently write this:
  17. Once it's opened, the items inside will get prioritized accordingly. Until then, it will get treated like the lowest-priority items.
  18. From what I've read, if you forgot to mark the box there is no way for them to find it and correct the matter. It will be treated as any other slower submission.
  19. I'm on the hunt for the Doom Toon Tumbler myself. There's only one on eBay, and it's like $40. No thanks!
