  1. Also, in the process of going from a 9.2 to a 9.6, it lost the "Nicholas Cage" designation. Not a big deal really, but interesting.
  2. I agree. I just don't get the ashcan excitement, nothing against Moondog. I knew I'd be in the minority. It seems like there's 2 kinds of collectors: those who find them fascinating & those who complain that they aren't "real" comics. That's totally understandable. I love them for their rarity. There's a thrill in going after a book with maybe 5 known copies. I guess I'm the opposite of those who post a new "9.8 X-Men" book every day & think it's special. I don't get it. Post the CGC 9.8 Pacific Coast copies of X-Men 1-5 & I'll be impressed.
  3. Hmmmm, let's see. Anyone who knows me knows I'd pick the ashcan, hands down!
  4. G-R-E-E-D!!!!! BTW - thanks for keeping this thread going. It's one of my favorite, but it's been dead for a while.
  5. My copy of #3 from the Dark Horse series is signed by Bruce. It's not slabbed, but I still love it. That's an awesome movie & a great comic series!
  6. That's sweet! There's another one I've never seen before.
  7. Thanks. There's some spine stress & a couple wrinkles in the top left corner, but overall it's a great looking book signed by the creator!
  8. Many thanks to Kevin Boyd for my latest batch of Sig Series books that arrived today
  9. I received these beauties today from North of the border (thanks to Kevin Boyd)
  10. Your best bet is to pick up a copy of Comic Book Marketplace # 71. Moondog wrote the feature article where he lists every known DC ashcan title. Many also have pictures.
  11. One or two of them made an appearance in the "Short bus" thread. Hey, we can't all post a TEC 31. Very sweet by the way!
  12. In addition to ashcans, I also enjoy other comic "oddities" like promotionals, give-aways, etc. I just received this set of 9 "railroad" promotional comics. It's not as exciting as getting a set of early 'TECs or something like that, but I thought it was neat to get the whole set at once:
  13. I've always loved that Frankenstein cover! It's my favorite early X-Men cover.
  14. "Relieved" him of it? That sounds like you hit him over the head and ran off with it! (It is a Mile High after all).
  15. Kudos to The Beyonder for the Hulk #4 & to rob allan for the Hulk #173. They both arrived today in excellent condition. Thanks guys! This brings the total number of Hulk books that I own to.....2.
  16. Yes indeed! I only have 2 Sig Series books & I bought them both from Chris.
  17. Here's the first 2 arrivals of 2007. I hope the rest of the year is this good!
  18. Is there a way to create a shot like that with Photobucket? I have a project in mind that would look great like that.
  19. I assembled the entire run a couple of years ago, then read every single one. Just wonderful stuff. The Belit saga was the best of the best. I love that series! I don't have any original issues, but I've got all the Conan Chronicles trades. The color in those is awesome.
  20. Is that it? Slacker! That's a nice variety of sweet books. Congrats.
