  1. Stronge price on the 6.5 definitely (looks upgradeable)? Maybe the reason why it sold for that much. Yeah the lower graded copies seem low. Perhaps just too many copies for sale in a short period of time? Or maybe eye appeal on one of the lower graded ones was weak? I thought the 4.0 copy was just ok with the tape and how it looks.
  2. So what is fmv on the Tec 31 5.0? I think eye appeal might play a factor in the sale price.
  3. Those are, wait for it, amazing! That's it?
  4. Actually, 'Marvel chipping' does happen on DC books. It's just not as common, but especially in the mid - late SA I've seen plenty of it. (thumbs u Well, I can't recall ever seeing one but maybe someday.
  5. woah those are two mega keys congrats Most definitely I've consigned a few high dollar books with CC and have always been pleased with the results. You should do fine. +1 That 7.0 should hit 50k or more easily If great eye appeal and structure. Yes...easily. U think? There hasn't been a 50K+ sale on GPA in a few years. It looks terrific…here's the link to pic… http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5836550#Post5836550 and the Bat… The colors are so bright and no marvel chipping Never seen one on a DC book

Of course I know about YOU LAUGH YOU LOSE, but what about unintentionally funny comic panes only? I don't recall seeing a post dedicated to double-entendres, although that would be pretty neat to have since we need some good humor every now and then.

  8. Again, going over this whole hurrah on PQ is giving me a headache I don't ever want to read another post that talks about PQ ever again. If anyone wants to talk about it, please say so before the discussion happens. Thanks!

  10. Dang 12 cons in a year!? That's a con a month pretty much...
  11. I recently sold my AF15 to pay off some debt and to start collecting these modern rare type issues. Yes the price is high now, but there is a possibility of a big payout 30 years from now (pure speculation of course). Supply drives price, so I decided to change gears and start collecting these kind of books. They've held their value pretty well, some more than others yes, but I'll take the risk of a 'mystery box' sitting somewhere waiting to be found for a chance to have what could be considered modern era gold in 30 years. Oh and Jaydog, call me when you want to sell that 667 I'm so jelly. Jerome Will do my man. But don't hold your breath....they may bury it with me. And I agree, it is inevitable that some of these moderns will end up as and/or remain classic collectibles in the future. It's a must if there is to be a future for the hobby. -J. Sure, I'd love to see some of these modern books remain as classic collectibles. It's just that more people now are aware of how collectible these comics can be compared to years back. I just hope that this hobby will remain healthy in the next generation or so. I think that is what we all want. We all have our opinions on certain books and arguments can happen trying to prove a point. When it's all said and done, you collect what you want and I collect what I want whether you take criticism from others of what you collect or how much you paid for a book. Which is why I never discuss how much I have actually spent on comics. -J. Chicken. Jerome Are you sure you are worst than me
  12. Maybe the tape and the tape stains played a factor in the selling price of the book?

  14. Dang Mongkorn another mid grade white page beaut. You on fire son. I really must buy me a copy of this issue one day. Nice! That copy looks familiar That's a beauty! I think I'd rather own this copy vs a C/OW 8.0 !!! It looks better than its assigned grade that's for sure. Might get a grade bump
  15. Or maybe they have a contract that if they work under Marvel that they cannot sell whatever complimentary comic book they receive. Just speculating, unsure of course but definitely a legit possibility. Oh and I say this about all modern books like WD 1, Wolverine/Deadpool Campbell variant, etc that I would never pay the crazy money people are paying for them right now. I'd rather out it towards a GA, SA, or BA key because they have proven time and time again that it is the better buy for the money.
  16. Then where are they? Marvel does that with "some" books perhaps. There is absolutely nothing to suggest that happened with this book, however, because it was not a covention book. (thumbs u -J. Maybe they are collectors too like we are so why should they sell if they can get it for free?
  17. I think everyone who works for Marvel or working for Marvel Comics distributors got a complimentary copy. It's highly likely I think. If it is true, that should be around 500 copies handed out
  18. Let's see how values for this book will be 5-10 years from now. Great cover but not $1000 worth to me

  20. Nice bump for one of the top three DC SA and undervalued with great potential. Agreed! And I don't even have a copy myself
  21. This thread is packing more heat than the actual ASM 678 Variant book Maybe someone close to Marvel or Diamond can verify more or less the print run for this book. It would make more sense to me that they have a print run in the thousands. Just my opinion. Let's go on..
  22. that's awesome man GL to YA hope he's got em'!! that's a good month!! Maybe time for a name change to Centaur Man?
  23. Perhaps... I missed the PQ. Grading PQ is a little wish/washy, but brittle is generally not great. Yeah, it surely would make me hesitate, but for the grade it looks underpriced. And not everyone care so much about PQ. To an extent I agree with you...whilst i am one of the people who greatly considers PQ, the market of people who dont care what the PQ is still is higher than the ones like me who cares about them. Yes, just for the record, I also care. W or OW are both fine (I'm no WP snob hehe), CR is different and I want a bit of a rebate for that. Brittle is where I might not be interested even if the rebate is considerable. But of course even brittle has a price. I see no "rebates" for DC SA books with "cr" on the label (or most key Marvel books). "Slightly Brittle", yes, since that is seldom seen in SA books (and actually is a quantifiable page QUALITY as opposed to "colour"). -J. Right on queue J
