  1. I too didnt bid on the Tec 36. Thought it went for a strong price. Colors on it are killer, but too bad the cf is detached. Saw the book on ebay, but didn't bid strong enough to win. I should've bid higher.
  2. You would! Nice copy ! -J. Old label goodness. Yep This book was graded back in 2001. These old label slabs are getting hard to come by.
  3. You would! Nice copy ! -J. Thanks J (thumbs u
  4. The 6.0. . That's about on par with what an AF 15, 5.0 would bring. The 5.5 AF 15 with the gnarly dog ear went for about $20.3k. -J. Damn you're right. I guess i was reminiscing the days when a 7.5 could be had at that price
  5. Showcase #4 CGC 6.0 closed at $17,925
  6. It happens. Been through something similar countless of times. Now I just bite the bullet
  7. Congrats on the nice pickup! Tec 29 was also my first pre-robin Tec. Then I just went crazy on them These pre-robin books gave me the biggest boner, but now I lost it Down to just one
  8. I've been noticing that the recent Sparkle City auctions have not been as good. The depth is not there as it used to be. I remember when they would always have big books like Bat 1, Supes 1, Tec 31, etc. Books of that caliber in every auction. They also would have quite a few OO collections they would list. I wonder what happened. I guess they've cleaned out selling the bigger books at the moment.
  9. I collect on OW pages or better on my SA books. So far my collection has been that way. But if there is an ultra rare SA book that i must have and/or i can buy for a good discount, then i may consider cr/offw.
  10. Damn that is a fine copy, looks like you've got your keeper.I'm the same way with colors, they have to pop. Thanks Oak! Eye appeal is a must for me to be considered a keeper as well (thumbs u
  11. This thread needs an update. I just received my copy in the mail today My best copy I've ever owned so far. One of the things I am picky about this book is how deep and dark the reds are since a lot of the copies I've seen are faded. I'm glad to have this copy to have the kind of red colors I've been looking for. Glad to be back in the club!
  12. Oh I see. Still, a great feat to accomplish then (thumbs u Believe me I know the feeling about having to sell some books for whatever reason it may be. And it stinks sometimes and you realize later on that it was a mistake.
  13. Wow Boba! Nice group shot!!! Didn't know you had quite a nice WW collection. Congrats!
  14. So whats FMV for this book? Around $350k?
  15. That's true, but now I have to get the coinage and find the right copy. This is why I bought lower to mid copies I wouldn't be able to spend that kind of money on higher grades for all three. Yeah that's very understandable my friend, but my cutoff for SA books is a minimum of 8.0. I will keep stacking my bread until I can buy/obtain the 'right SC #4 copy'. (thumbs u I have my sights on one, but it I will need outside intervention to probably obtain it when I'm ready. I also want to upgrade my IH #1 or sell/trade+cash it for an AF #15 CGC 8.0 copy. :wish luck: To be continued! Sounds good buddy (thumbs u Nothing wrong with collecting high grade copies of these key books. Heck if I had more disposable income, I would probably buy these books in mid-high grade. Everyone has their budget in spending, but I am fortunate to own all 3 in the meantime. I wish you the best in obtaining a copy you desire and I hope it works well with you in the future (thumbs u
