  1. Same with the bolded. I'm sure we've had our fair shares of regrets when it comes to books we could've bought much cheaper back in the past. I certainly had a bunch that I could've purchased for much much less, I wish I had a time machine to go back and buy those books. But with much uncertainty looming regarding the future values of these comics, I didn't want to be aggressive and just spend $ like water. If I knew what I know now, I think things would be different for me and most of us and certainly would spend more $ on these treasures. Absolutely, the MCU is kicking DC in the behind when it comes to movies, shows, merchandise, etc. Better storyline overall and the years of planning it took to make those movies so successful. DC can't seem to do something similar that is just as successful with that blueprint.
  2. Closed at 102k. I was wrong lol. But still, the first copy that sold looked much better!
  3. no kidding! still not over selling my restored 5.5 several years ago .... wonder who has it I sold my 5.0 copy last year . Had a tough time deciding whether to sell or keep but knew the market highs won't last forever so I decided to sell. Maybe I can place some bids for any one of these copies coming up for sale. We'll see.
  4. That 9.0 copy is inferior to the first one that sold today. I expect the 2nd one to sell for less, maybe in the 90k range
  5. The Promise MM 92 CGC 8.5 took a haircut. Sold for a little over $14k when it was first auctioned.. Today at $9k
  6. Cap 1's coming out of the woodwork for sale. I wonder why people are cashing out of this book? Such a great key to own,
  7. The Heritage 9.2 copy sold for $810k. Still a pretty strong price in my opinion. I know some of you think it would hit a mil.
  8. It's ok. The book looks heavily restored anyways. If it gets damaged in anyway, it'll just get restored back to what it was
  9. I forgot his name. I'm trying to find the thread he made about it. He only posted about his AA 16 find and that was it. He just disappeared 😆
  10. Yup a lot of the so called businesses that were "losing money" during the pandemic took advantage of the PPP loans and most were granted. There is a website that anyone can report fraudulent use of these loans if you suspect something. Hopefully all those who really didn't need these loans get audited.
  11. That's quite a grade difference . I wonder why gallo didn't restore it to the max at 9.0
  12. There was that one boardie who showed off his lower graded AA 16 on here a few years ago. It was just placed in a plastic sleeve, I wonder if he ever got it graded. He said he would keep it long term.
  13. Here are my top 3 pickups of 2022. It was tough deciding with 6 books I purchased this year, but these are my choices
  14. It could also be a collector trying to put together an early Spidey run of 4.0 WITH White pages. Definitely possible as we have our very own boardie DST who has done that feat in 5.0. Because white pages are rare in AF 15's, I think it is a possibility OR like others have mentioned could be an older sale that was done with time payments. With regards to mc, I think books in mid to lower grades are unaffected, but books in higher grades can be affected when it comes to the final grade depending on the severity.
  15. Well when you have a ton load of $, sometimes you can get away with things easier
  16. It's all over the internet with his shadiness. As a young teen, he would steal cc numbers and use them. When he used to be the CEO of Scoreboard which produces sports cards, he would put redemption cards in packs to be redeemed for a card but people were not able to fulfill the redemption because Scoreboard went out of business, so people were pissed and a lot of people lost $. He screwed over Kobe Bryant by owing him $10k which he never paid him and the latest one was a police report in a public pool facility when he called out a black employee the N word and went on a temper tantrum about how his son was unable to use the pool. I dunno if the pools were getting cleaned up or what, but it was an ordeal. Oh and he is famous for publicly announcing that he has a 9 figure account and he has a 5 acre property on a golf course (it's really only 4 acres but who's counting )
  17. With Bat 1 yes, not even with a Cap 1 at $75k a point. It's a bit lower in my opinion. A MC 1 was trading for roughly around $40k a point in around 2020. The Nic Cage 6.0 copy sold for $280k in 2020 so a $75k ppp now is more than generous for mid to lower grades..
  18. Maybe because there's a lot of controversies going on with owner Ken Goldin. Has a few very shady past.
