  1. Moving forward, I expect CGC to tighten up their comic book inspections before assigning a grade. These latest incidents/mishaps from CGC cannot  happen again. They probably need to re-train everyone from the time they receive a package from a customer to shipping out back their property. Step by step, they have to instill stricter guidelines to follow. Security cameras are a must for each department, which I've mentioned before. PSA has had that set-up for a few years now after several past customers (including myself) complained that their cards were damaged during the grading process.

Sure TAT's will be slower, but in my eyes, will be well worth the wait. I do not want to second guess buying a CGC graded comic, thinking if something was missing or if the grade assigned is accurate for that book. I've spent a lot of money towards CGC graded books in my lifetime thinking that each book I paid is all good. I'm hoping CGC can announce soon what added security featues to the slab will be done to prevent bad actors from compromising the slab by switching books and/or labels out.

Time will tell if any such improvements will be made.

You might think that.  But check out vintage Ferrari results.  The model made famous in Ferris Bueller just keeps climbing, one sold last year for $18 million, after another did $11 million in 2008.  They could be had in the early 70s for a few grand.  Less than 50 exist.  Pretty good corollary to Action 1, except you can't drive it.

Gimme that Ferrari over the Action 1! At least I'll be getting a lot of attention from hot chicks vs nerdy dudes!!!

The other 8.0 is the Larson.

    The other 8.5 is this:

It sold for a bit over $2M in 2018. Resold in 2021 for $3.25 million. Which 8.5 is better?  I guess we're going to see how big an impact the Pandemic had on perceptions of value.

I like this copy better than the KC one personally. The colors in this one do pop and white pages to boot. I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere down the line this book graded higher.

I’m more shocked someone would drop that kind of coin on a listing like that. I mean, blurry photos, still in the bag - I wouldn’t buy a $20 book that was listed like that.

Yeah when I saw that AF 15 on ebay before even knowing it is linked to Mike, I thought it was very odd how the picture is blurry and only one pic was taken. Very suspicious for being a high end comic, so I ended up passing on the buy price. Too many red flags, glad I didn't take a chance.

  5. Looking at the Curator 9.8 copy, it looks like the colors especially the reds look washed out/faded compared to when the book was in the 9.6 holder. I'm not sure if it's due to how the book was scanned or if there was some sort of wet cleaning done prior to it being re-graded again and achieved the 9.8 grade.

Would help if someone took a picture of the book in hand as a 9.6 and also with its new grade to compare.
