  1. "B" as in big boy book! Congrats with the sale! Only lasted 3 hours.. wow!!!
  2. Looks like Goldin will be auctioning off a Bat 1 CGC 5.0 soon
  3. It was the Action 1 rocket copy that he bought. I'm unsure if it was for his personal collection or for a client. The Tec 27 maybe he bought it a year or two ago. I haven't checked the Heritage archives if it matches the 6.5 that just sold.
  4. Goldin did a video in social media and claimed he bought this copy at a grocery store in 1939 . Saying he was "first in the grocery store to wait in line to buy it." Ha right...
  5. Frank n Sons in City of Industry is a great place to visit. It's one gigantic swap meet with everything from comics to toys to memorabilia.. Just so much stuff under one roof and it's free admission!
  6. Love em! Here's one of my favorite ones that I own. Look at the eye appeal on this one.
  7. Looks to be in the 2.0/2.5 range. Good luck!
  8. Agreed with this. I think CGC should just have a notation saying the staple(s) were replaced in a blue label similar to how they do it with small amount of color touch and/or glue on golden age graded books.. Afterall, the book didn't have any work done and is still original. Saving a book from heavily rusted staples and migrating into the pages is the right thing to do and yeah should not be penalized with a purple or green label.
  9. This is true . Certainly balances out the pain in the stock market
  10. https://goldin.co/item/1939-d-c-comics-superman-1-origin-of-superman-cgc-3-0-cream-to-off-whilg15y
  11. Thanks! Yeah the "White" page designation corresponds to the interior pages of the book and not the cover(s). If I were to buy a white paged book, everything should be as close to white as possible including the covers. That means no yellowing or tanning whatsoever.
  12. Agreed! That's the first thing I look at when buying a copy. Are the covers yellowed/tanned? Compare that copy to my personal 6.0 copy. No comparison whatsoever. I think the labels should be switched
  13. Yeah, definitely will go for less than the last time it sold. Coupled with the fact that there will be a ton of AF 15's to choose from up for auction. There's a guy on FB selling a very nice looking 5.5 copy for $139,950
  14. Parking has never been a problem for me. If you want to park nearby the convention center, you'd have to be parked at around 6-7am. After that you can still find parking but it will be further away, but still walkable. There's also the option of taking an Uber or Metrolink.
  15. Damn sorry about that. It was a must have for me and was trying to win at all costs . Yeah I too thought it would grade lower around 3.0.. was pleasantly surprised 😮
