  1. I knew it. sweet ride man! My friend recently bought the new model 3 sedan not released out to the public until next year i believe. He loves it.
  2. Great book, congrats on your most recent pickups! Just curious but are you driving a Tesla?
  3. Eye appeal is king when it comes to realized prices. good to see buyer are paying more attention to eye appeal vs the grade, years back it wasnt this way at all. Oh and the lower graded copies of X-Men 1 had low eye appeal, not at all surprised by the lower prices. Had either major yellowing, fading, tanning, chipping or a combo of those things mentioned.
  4. Certainly is! I expected at least $45k for that one. Definitely a great time to buy during this time of year. Not at all surprised as trends have been this way for years now.
  5. The shop owner should be linked into this thread pronto!!! Oh wait, too late now. No way of fixing the problem. Looks like the books are well on their way to fading into dust...
  6. Thanks Peter! Used to be Court's copy, had to choose between this or the Tec 33 blue 1.5 at that time. Went with the 35 due to stronger eye appeal. When I asked Court about his 33 a short time later he said he had already sold it. Not sure where Court bought it from, but i guess you know more about the history than I do. It's certainly a stunner!
  7. Thanks Steve and it sure is. Book is just fun to own, should be graded higher I think. I guess I'll see you at Terry's show on Jan.?
  8. Here's my copy. Bought raw on ebay years back. Took a chance and certainly paid off!
  9. I dont think Comicconnect is charging sales tax, just a % if you use a cc to pay. I know CL charges state tax on certain states, not CA as of this writing so i'm good with it
  10. Living in CA where cost of living is already pretty high enough, yes the sales tax has deterred me from bidding on Heritage. I have not won a book since.
  11. That's a beauty of a copy!!! Maybe you can look underneath your couch or something to find that extra $60k . Would certainly look very nice together!
  12. Sensation Comics #1 CGC 5.5 Cream-Offwhite Pages. Tough book to find period! You see a lot more AS #8 and WW #1 out there for sale, but you seldom see a Sensation #1. I think this book is still under valued compared to AS #8 and this book being the first Wonder Woman cover! Book has tremendouns eye appeal (not as nice as the Tec 35 in my opinion, but it is usually what a 5.5 should look. Hard to price since I have not seen one at or around this grade sell for quite sometime. Considering that an All-Star #8 sells for around $15k/point, I think this is fairly priced. Price: $60,000 $58,000
  13. Detective Comics #35 CGC 5.0 Offwhite Pages Conserved. CGC Notes "Spine splits sealed to cover, cover reinforced." That's it! Very minimal and 99% of the book is all original! Beautiful looking copy with no ugly writing on front cover, stains, rusty staples, etc. Looks a lot better than its assigned grade. Priced below what a 4.5 unrestored sold for last year! Price: $50,000 $45,000
  14. First of, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on the boards and to your families! Be safe and eat well . Now let's get down to business. Selling both of these Golden Age gem books! 15. Based on my experiences with small amount of color touch removal, there really is no pinpoint amount of color touch even is small. It can be just a dot or a streak on the spine area or it can be a few hits on the spine, a few on the lower edge, and some on the middle of the cover. There is no varying degree of how much color touch was done, something to ask CCS specifically where the color touch areas are. Also, if you decide on getting it removed, it will be obvious (at least to those who have came across color touch removal) that color touch was removed. There will be a streak(s) of white straight line(s) on the book that doesn't look natural, which could be really ugly lowering the eye appeal. Sometimes it is best to leave as is, but if you're trying to re-sell for a quick profit, than most would go the un-restoration route. Good luck!
  16. Ugh, I still do not believe he is gone.. Still sad about it. I posted on his Twitter page the other day and expressed my thoughts and my feelings about Stan. He will forever be greatly missed!
  17. What was the previous grade from the voldy label? Looks nicer in a CGC holder.
  18. A plethora of AF 15 copies in the CL Signature auction. Would be interesting to see the hammer prices on those.
