This better apply only to recent orders. This company needs to get its together. Raise prices or shut down to catch up on orders. I’ve got an order that’s been there since early April and I better not have to wait until Christmas to get mine back. One of them is just a single card standard order also I should have gotten weeks ago.

It'll probably be in-between the original turnaround and the updated.

I've seen it, I just couldn't remember what movie it was from. I kept thinking Harold and Kumar for some reason.

The last price increase could have been part of this deal...

CGC: 'look, told you they'd pay more!'

Heck, CGC continues to treat their core clientele worse and worse and everyone keeps coming back for more.  From Blackstone's perspective that sounds like a great investment.

Still plenty of collectibles left to be graded and tons to be made by the grading company.  Why not charge more when people are paying tens and hundreds of thousands, millions of dollars for items with that label up top.

The typical average customer is very soon to be bent over big time.

So you're saying we're in an abusive relationship with CGC? Sounds accurate tbh.

They can start with the card grading. That has been so poorly run you can just see the money that is being left on the table there.

Lots of posts for the CGC card grading section. “Do you grade unopened Pokémon packs? I’d love to get them in a CGC case and not graded by another company.”  Answer every time “Sorry we don’t grade those”. Meanwhile the competitor does.

Same thing with “do you grade Star Wars or Marvel cards?”.
Answer: “Sorry we don’t do that and CSG only grades sports cards”.

All Blackstone has to do is have an intern scroll trough these boards and they can see where money is not being adequately captured. They also might even  decide its not worth having CGC grade only TCG and CSG
grade sports cards and stream line then into one. CGC a has a name recognition but what is the point of they only grade TCG Pokémon and Magic at this point and soon to be Yu-Gi-Oh.

R&D may also be an area they target to roll out the ability to grade different cards. The number of posts about not being able to grade certain cards due to size (we aren’t talking crazy jumbo or super small cards) is ridiculous and it’s been seen for both CGC and CSG cards.

Then of course computer system and data updates could be tackled as that’s really other alleged reason for not offering more TCG cards being available for grading.

This could of course could lead to some not to knowledgeable experts. I know sometimes TATs in the CGC card section are blamed on needing to research the card. Here is where things could just get pushed out the door a little sloppily...HOWEVER, will collectors really care when you have cards graded by competitors like PSA sitting in cases with certified auto’s that are clearly forgeries because well...the person spelled their own name wrong? Not to mention all the proven trimmed cards sitting in PSA cases yet graded sports card mania marches on.

Many a good point. Don't know why they didn't roll cards under one umbrella, and do everything card related similar to what PSA has going. My guess was they just don't have the resources.

If there's a way to nickel and dime, I'm sure they'll find it. I remember when RuneScape, old browser game, was bought out by an investment company. Nightmare. I'm not necessarily against one company buying out another but companies like that go hard for every cent.

Anyone have any idea of how long it takes them to grade a card when it’s in grading status? I have a single card standard order that has been in grading/QC stage for 2 weeks now. Does it really take that long to grade one card? I can understand a large order but not a single card…

If you haven't been billed already and paid it might be on hold. I'd call them either way.

    Hi there,

The time at which the card on file is charged wouldn't really slow down the process regardless, but to clarify, it is charged when the cards move to grading.

    Thanks!

Called accounting to find out the cards were on hold because it was trying to charge me 2x for subgrades. Glad my order that's done has just been on hold for an accounting error. Really appreciate that, considering I didn't get a call or email to inform me. 👍

See the thing is, they submitted this before you CGC started asking people to mark packages with standard on it at the beginning of May..... I'm in the same boat like may others. My standard submission is mixed in with bulk and Economy submissions and won't be open for another month or so because it wasn't asked for us to mark our packages with standard... and the people that started marking shipments with standard are getting their submissions pushed through way before pre May standard submissions....

The sad part about this is that CGC will do nothing to help push pre May standard submissions through because it will take up to much resources to look for packages... we will see how things go once my standard submission get opened way past the TAT.... Good luck to the original poster....

I called CS after seeing quite a few other subs getting done that were delivered months after mine. Pretty much got told there are too many packages, tough mess. Mine was delivered very first part of April before the marking packages ST like yours.

There are several choices to make here....if you have a high value card and want to have less concern it disappears on the way to you, go the USPS Registered Route.   My package was sent Priority Registered on 6/13 and appears it will finally arrive today 6/29 in the Worcester MA area.   One has to disassociate the thought that the Registered package will arrive on any sort of a priority basis.    Track it, and if need be request online for support if it sits in any particular office for any length of time.   I did after not seeing anything update for six days after scanning through the Atlanta regional USPS office.     It seemed to generate a push and the updates resumed after my request to have someone look into it.    Already got an e-mail with an apology from the USPS for the delay, we'll see how it arrives.   Maybe others can share their method of getting their packages back faster via other means, but with the value of the cards sent (and the time it took to get graded) I'm more likely to stay with USPS.   Maybe Fedex?

I don't believe FedEx is insured unless you do the shipping through your own account at checkout. I personally prefer them or UPS though. USPS still hasn't recovered from delays last year.

Around here on Long Island, requesting a pickup is basically requesting a porch pirate to come and plunder your front yard.

It's amazing what gets passed around the ring doorbell.   I have packages that have to go out today so I avoid the risk and drop them off personally.

I have a Ring as well. It's absolute garbage. Wind sets it off, but doesn't go off when I need it to. I'm in Atlanta. Generally not the best area but I've been here for almost 30 years and so have my neighbors. Been here before the area became trash so all decent people. No one really tries stuff in this particular neighborhood.

Has anyone else experienced extra characters in their submissions under "Card Name"? I have two separate submissions with the same characters added to the end of the Card Names. The Card Name as written looks like this in both submissions:

    Pikachu☆

    Regice☆

    Alakazam☆

I contacted support and they said it would be fixed, however, it still hasn't been and the cards are now in Grading/QC. Hope they aren't labeled like that!

I've had a few that display like that on the submission page. The labels were normal though, so I wouldn't worry.

🚨 Apparently it is true that if you put a WT, EX, or ST card in with a bulk order your bulk order will leap past other bulk orders that were delivered before it. A tale of two of my submissions...
    -
    Submission #1
Mailed April 12th (64 cards Bulk; 1 card Economy)
Delivered April 13th (I live in Sarasota so the mail is quick to reach CSG)
Marked Received on my Submissions Page June 23rd (I did not mark the box there was an Economy submission in it)
    -
    Submission #2
    Mailed April 26th (60 Bulk; 1 Express)
    Delivered April 28th
Marked Received on my Submissions Page May 7th (due to my marking the box EX for the Express card)
Express card delivered back to me on May 21st (graded 9.5)
60-card Bulk order marked as Scheduled for Grading June 25th
    -
One would think that since Submission #1 was delivered to CSG two full weeks before Submission #2 that it would be Scheduled for Grading first. But today Submission #2 jumped ahead of it and is now in that phase while Submission #1 sits as Received. 🤷‍♂️

My bulk delivered 4/2 went into received on May 25th. Still in received. Your bulk delivered 4/26 is SFG? 🤔

I just received a 25 card economy order back, and I found three (3) slabs with the cards slabbed with penny sleeves.  It creates a strange wave on the card, and I think takes away from the nice clear slabs.  It looks like is the result of slightly different slabs being used.  The slabs with penny sleeves used seems slightly thicker, and the card guide holders within the slabs are much larger that the actual card size (these are all standard size cards).  I can see why the grader would want to use penny sleeves in these "larger" slabs in order to keep the card from floating around within the slab, but it seems strange to have differences.  Has anyone else noticed this, and is it possible to get the cards re-slabbed into the more appropriately sized slabs that don't require a penny sleeve?

I tried to scan pictures of both the larger (card on the left) and the regular (card on the right), but realizing that my scanner isn't great.

On top of that it looks super cockeyed, I'm assuming it moves a bit in the sleeve? Not very aesthetically pleasing

thhats where ive been sending my cards and getting them back fast and i should of just stuck with them but for 8 bucks a card you couldnt beat that price but ive said it once and ive said it twice i dont think ill use csg again

I don't really have much brand loyalty. To me it's just about cost to performance. $8 with 80 day turnaround made sense. Doesn't make sense financially for me at 200. I'd rather pay $30 and have a 15 day turnaround and send in fewer cards. Can't do much about it now though.

While I think CSG slabs look nice, and the grading is accurate it really gives me a fat shafting when the turnaround 2-3xs. Forces my income down to only what I have in raw cards. I can't even determine how many raws to hang onto because I don't know when the ones I sent for grading will actually come back 😂. No grading is stress free at the moment but going from 4 months to a calendar year just makes it too difficult to compensate for.

  15. I believe I remember seeing something that said charges would be at SFG, and then I've seen where others said you get charged at grading. Will customer service be able to go ahead and bill for cards in the SFG stage? Don't want any possible issues to slow down the process.

If you look through the last couple pages you'd see they're a few people are in that boat with you including me....... They started asking customers to mark Standard submissions at the beginning/middle of May? I don't remember at this point.... Once my standard submission gets marked received, I'm giving them a call to see how they plan on handling it. Because when they do mark it as received, it will be at or over the 65 day TAT stated as of right now... Good luck

Wouldn't count on it. Was received 6/11 been in SFG since the 14/15th. Today is day 59. Might make it by 65 days, but pretty sure the standard turnaround was also 25 when it was subbed 🤣 Not much of a consolation prize to make it within 65 days.

My suggestion on curtains wasn't at all meant to be sarcastic.  It's literally what I use in my collectibles room and I recommend it to everyone who's worried about light exposure to their comics/cards.

I apologize then, the way I read that I thought you were insinuating that he should cover all the windows instead of getting UV protection on his slabs.

In all seriousness I don't think UV film on the cases or the aftermarket sleeves are a bad idea. I keep everything out of direct sunlight regardless of what it's in and I can't tell that any of it has faded. I'm can't distinguish where any of the UV sleeves have changed color but I don't think it would ever be a good idea to keep anything in direct sunlight regardless of what you have on it. I don't cover the windows but I have them in places where direct sunlight isn't an issue.
