Please check to make sure the TAT hasn’t changed before accusing CSG of getting your emoji stuck in GEI, thank you. Please remember TATs are estimated also.

I guarantee whoever's poor managerial skills that got us here doesn't have their check stuck in GEI or an "estimated" time frame on their pay day.

Not even close to accurate.  And personally,  I think SGC sucks. I hate the boring looking of black and white. I have sold some big cards via CSG.. I do prefer resell on PSA, but not a $200 a pop.. unless the card is a $5000+ card in PSA 9..

How is that not even close to accurate? If it's a $2000 card, I can afford $200 to have it graded in a week for maximum return. If it's a $300-400 I can run it through SGC for $30 and have it back in a few weeks with decent return. CSG prices have become too high for the length of time they take and the return. Sub $100 cards at $12 apiece is the only thing that makes sense for strictly selling purposes. The black inserts aren't the cleanest, as I have a few cards with oddly cut inserts, but as long as the person buying is alright with their service, that's all that matters to me.

Example, I sold an SGC 10 Premier Level Joe Burrow Select silver for $250 and other have gone for 200+. Last one CSG on ebay is a 9.5 with one 10 subgrade sold for $113.

uhhh this entire paragraph seems to take place in an alternate world where graded cards don't exist...

the point is that the label turns collectibles into a standardized and financialized asset. If I have 100 copies of a card and place a bid that's a little over the FMV, I might not win it and if I do, I just pushed the value of the 100 other copies up. So I might be overpaying by 5% for one card but I might have pushed the value up 1%, meaning my collection went up by more value than "lost" by overbidding.

I'm sorry if I'm not explaining it right but this is just sort of a generalized process of inflating the value of an asset but applied to eBay and the graded card market.

Except that people normally disregard the one off sales like that. If 20 base set 9 Zards sold for $1500 yesterday, and one sold for $1800 no one's going to give a mess. Your one buy for over fmv isn't going to change the market. Same with one selling at $1200 if all the others sold at $1500. Unless you manage to shill bid them all, or have an item that doesn't have any competing listings, your purchase is just a drop in the bucket.

That is part of the problem, those of us that used csg, didn't use them to sell our cards at bargain prices!! Lol! But that is the case...  they are not bringing what PSA gets or even close. But for buyer's,  yes, fantastic deals! 😎 all good!

CSG exist almost exclusively for low-end cards. Card is expensive? Drop $200 for PSA.  Card is mid range, go SGC $30. Card is cheap, CSG bulk it is.

I just entered G/E/I after waiting a month in S4G, how long were you in it?

I don't remember. It was delivered April 2nd I think. I care less about it still being in GEI than I do about being billed so far away from it getting shipped.

Current status of CSG site.... I think they are using dial-up or Windows '97 with new system. Sigh. $20,000 plus in subs at their place, can't see orders, still have a box lost from 4 weeks ago. No return emails. I am in so deep with these guys, over 30 submissions... but I am not sending anymore to them, not until these things get fixed. I really, really wanted to love CSG, but this ain't cutting it. It's already hard enough to swallow the losses on the resell side, but now all this other stuff.. Paid for a submission 2 days, nothing moved over to shipping. Called accounting today, they had to send another email to update to have cards released from "safe", no updates... this is super frustrating.... but I am locked in... have 2500 + cards at CSG now, waiting to be graded.... sigh.

I paid over a month ago, and it still hasn't moved out of G/E/I lol. Like what the actual .

Need to take people from receiving and teach them how to grade cards.... lol

Have one order that's been paid for and graded for over a month according to CS. Think they're either share the sonic welder between services or don't have enough employees to run them. As the bottleneck at the moment seems to be getting them out the door as well.

My only gripe lately is Accounting taking payment on anything you call and ask about, but what they don't tell you is them taking payment has NOTHING to do with actually moving your cards along in the process!

Very sneaky and sly bunch they got on the Accounting side lol.

Yeah, Ive about had it with this mess. They told me an order was graded, billed me a $1k. Order has sat in the G/E/I for a month. If I wanted to give loans for a month+ I'd go open a bank, not be here selling cards. PSA charges same day as shipped, much better way to do it.

I mean sure, but we're also only hearing your side of the story here. I can't even fathom the amount of incompetence that the ppl at these grading companies have to deal with, from people mislabeling cards, to putting them out of order, to undervaluing them, etc etc.

I haven't had one issue with CSG through 3 full bulk orders. Everything has been smooth as a whistle. All 3 orders have been after they said they'd get them back to me but who cares? It's the grading industry and the reason I send them bulk orders is bc it's such a cheap way to encapsulate all the cards I want to keep forever + make a profit on cards that I'd otherwise sell raw.

If you use CSG exactly what they are good for and stay leaning on those strengths then you and others wouldn't be in such freakout mode and hounding their staff on these boards

I think it's quite the stretch to consider it freaking out when you have expectations and paying $1k a month in advance before it's ready to be shipped back. Maybe most people don't like getting bent, but it's cool if you do. No judgement.

    That’s just not true, sorry.

PSA makes up the VAST majority of this business and there was literally no way for CSG, which was JUST getting off the ground, could have anticipated the amount of cards at first.

I will say this - I think they’re making a mistake by continuing to adhere to the “we’ll take as many bulk orders as humanly possible” creed still, but at the same time the people sending in need to make the best educated decision.

I just see a lot of uneducated buyers remorse in here and it just comes off as pathetic to me.

Even "GMA" if you want to consider that a grading service had a backlog when CSG started. Estimates are wildly_fanciful_statement, when you call customer service they feed you wildly_fanciful_statement, and I think I've had issues with three orders out of six. One was a damaged card when it was slabbed, two were incorrect labels...

The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Doesn't matter if the grading is good, or what the finished product looks like if you alienate your customers by bending them over and plowing them at every turn. Their decisions aren't oriented towards putting the customer first.

  11. When I called two weeks ago to get an idea on how long it would take after paying they told me the 16th was the latest ship date for it. Here we are on the 12th with only two more working days before the end of day on the 16th. I don't see it happening if it still has to go through another phase. I just don't get it.

Csg is gonna go off what ever the current turn around times are no matter what the turn around times were when you sent your cards , they will sit for a while from what i have found

I'll just be happy to be out of this grading mad house. My PSA sub from 9 months ago is almost finished, SGC are all back to me, just waiting on this one from CSG and one more from CGC then I'm back to raw cards 🤣

Hi, So my name is Jarron Giles and I've had boxes on boxes full of football, baseball, and basketball cards for a long time that were given to me from my dads friend that ran a card shop in the 2000's. I have no clue where to start and I'm very new to this, but I think I have a lot of cards that have potential to maybe have great value and most, if not all, are in great shape.

My suggestion would be to go through and pull all HOF players first that you recognize and then work backwards from there separating them by year and set. Then do some research after that and go back through them pulling any you missed the first time. That's how I normally do it, and a lot of the time it seems pretty daunting at first but just spend an hour or so each day. Try not to burn yourself out on it.
