I think the question is are cards graded with subgrades held to a higher standard than those without? If this is case, it would have been nice to know before I submitted and will likely determine whether I submit with CSG again in the future. I've defended CSG on this forum and social media at every turn, understanding that a new company would have growing pains given the current state of the hobby. If there are two different grading standards based on subgrades and it wasn't publicly disclosed, I can't and won't defend that.

That's exactly what it sounded like in the first response on here. Not sure how you can walk that back, but I'd always have doubts from this point forward regardless of what's said tbh.

Also, at the bottom of that response it says they're all individually looked at??? Like what, they just throwing grades on cards arbitrarily without looking at them.

It sucks Paul S is getting the brunt of the complaints, but there's just nobody else to turn too.

I paid for my sub over the phone, and was TOLD that my sub would ship out 9/17 (a week from when I paid). It is now 9/24 and my cards haven't even been graded. Again, I don't mind that TaT's take long, but why give a date when you know its absolute bs?

I recorded the conversation with him for my own records. Just think upper management at CGC should tell their employees to not give any dates so we don't get our hopes up. Some of us do this as a business; and by giving us false dates it costs us money.

Exactly the way I feel. I rent tables at card shows, sell a lot at on eBay, etc. Really me up renting tables when I'm told one thing and the reality is vastly different. Been sitting on this order for ages, when initial time was 80 days. Was billed in June, told August, then told September, now it's rolled past that as well. Sitting at 123 business days as of today. This is CSG. CGC order still has a long way to go.

I really don't like being billed 2 months in advance when we're talking about $1k.

they are imaging  submission #1008512 right now. if i add 001 to the end, and search 1008512001  certification, that's where it has stopped. actually its on 019. he either submitted 19 cards or csg went home in the middle o imaging a bulk order. Ill find out monday because my other submission is  1008513. 001 thru 100 because i submitted 100 cards. the last 3 numbers tell us how many cards were submitted 001- 050 is a bulk order. the best cards end with 001 because they sent it in solo. i just looked at a perfect 10 on ebay it was an 001 the guy knows how to spot them because its a dollar raw lol.

Should be 001-however many you subbed. That's how CGC does it on the pokemon I subbed.

Yeah you'll prob wanna cal them for that bc mine was received on 6/17 and in g/e/i right now (has been for more than a minute, too)

It's been in GEI since 7/26 when they billed me, but hasn't progressed passed there. Called twice, just to try to get a ballpark idea as to whether I need to pay fees for a vendor table at local card show. First they told me August, then September, but it's going to roll right on past that as well.

I've noticed people posting two different statuses post GEI. So I'm not sure how many stages it goes through anymore as it was previously Imaged/Finalized/Shipped I believe. Part I don't understand is they told me that it had already completed "Grading" when I paid. So the two month wait since then has been for them to be slabbed? Just leads to confusion, and get a different story every time I call.

Received my first batch of cards back today.  So order arrived at CSG April 13 and arrived back to me September 22.  5 month turn around even though they will say it wasn't that long because they didn't check the package in until June 23 so 3 months turn around if you go by that clock.

Second order delivered by USPS on May 7, marked as received on 8/27 and currently scheduled for grading.

    What tier?

I just got an update. The 10-count and 50-count boxes are now using the new inserts made of a different material, and the 25-count ones should be using them soon as well.

    Thank you,

    Paul

I don't know how involved you are with this particular stage but it could be on how the manufacturer is shipping them to you. Some of the ones I received the scratches were on the inside of the slab. I used every plastic abrasive under the sun, and a Dremel with a buffing tip before I realized it 😂

That's closer to 74 business days. It's my understanding the date the clock starts is when it is marked received, so the 6/4 date would start the count.

They walked that back a while ago I believe. It's now from delivery date. Not that it matters much when it starts.

For those wondering about time frame, here's how my order has progressed thus far.:

    50 Card Bulk

    Delivered to SGC 04/05/21

Marked as received by SGC 06/04/21

    Enters G/E/I stage on 06/18/21

    Enters grading/quality control 09/16/21

Will update when it moves to stage 437 of the 982 stage process. Turnaround times were projected at 90 business days when they received. It has now been 119 business days.

    Don't get your hopes up

Mine was delivered 4/2, "received" 5/24, still hasn't hit G/QC. Seems FIFO might be questionable.

There have been several complaints over the last few months on the forum about scuffed and scratched slabs due to poor shipping protection. I agree with revat that a partial refund doesn't make sense.

The scuffing on those pics looks terrible, and absolutely affects the slabs value.
Send them back to be reholdered. That's what everyone who receives damaged slabs should do.

How so? They could refund him the re-holder fee per damaged slab and let it be up to him whether he wants it done. Maybe time is more valuable than the slab condition.

Considering their shipping charges are high as giraffe , maybe they could not cheap out. Send stuff back in a way that isn't damaging.

I did get a tracking number in my email. There was no link for the number. I had to look on the attachment that came with the email to get the tracking number.

I'm assuming USPS? For someone reason those are never linked like FedEx.

I am only speaking on the forum and the role he played here. I don't doubt that he shines at managing product development. As a business owner myself, I would never give my production manager the responsibility of keeping up with our website and it's social forums. Paul should probably stay in P.D. They need to hire a information specialist that is the fly on the wall in all important meetings so they can pass on crucial information to people like us and all other employees.

Not only this but places I've worked product development generally was related more so to securing contracts with manufacturers, the profitability of the merchandise in question, and the ability to make it a reality. He would be somewhat high in the overall pecking order, but still have plenty of people above him and have other department heads running other things. Paul seems to have a genuine interest in the product and helping us out when things go sideways around here. Seems like a good dude, so he's the one person at that place I have a good bit of respect for even if he did hit us with the "glitch" mistake. I'm sure it was an honest mistake. I'm in agreement with what you said about information flow though lol.

Funny you say that. In Paul's email signature, it says he is the Director of Product Development. With that title, it seems like he should kind of know wtf is going on in his work place. Lol

Not necessarily if it doesn't pertain to his immediate job. I don't know how many departments they have or desire to find out but if it's not something that's relegated to him he probably isn't told unless he ask. Way it goes with most bigger companies.

When they changed their prices in April a few of us noticed that while we were charged the old rates for grading, the sub-grades fee was the new price not the old one. Get them to send you an account statement and check what they charged you for Sub-grades

This. Last sub I paid for I want to say they tried to charge me double on subs to match current price instead of what it was at time of submission. May not be the issue in this case but I would definitely take a second look at it.

Well you, my friend would be shocked to know that it does happen.  I got a battle styles booster box and it had been tampered with and resealed, both the booster box as well as the individual packs within.. and IMO that is an even less appealing than chilling reigns.. curious tho, where are these shelves that product is just sitting on and going stale?? Because from what I see both those sets and just about 98% of everything else is constantly sold out everywhere.

I see battle styles, chilling reigns on the shelf at Walmarts near me. No one touches them, so they have been here since they were put out. I think there's almost a full display box of vivid voltage still sitting there since the last wave as well.
