  1. At over two quid a pop without collection costs, there's not going to be much profit in them. The chances of many of them being better than beaters when they haven't even been bagged are slim. How many VG copies of Power Man & Iron Fist, etc are you likely to end up with?
  2. I won't be going to Kapow as I'll be Up north...I have a feeling it will be alot quieter this year due to LSCC being such a hit earlier in the year. Also, Kapow have put up their entry prices this year and are pricier than LSCC.
  3. i wonder if that person was they same ones opposite Nick last week, they had the same thing Wasn't it Scott's Collectables set up opposite to Nick? I know they set up at some of the shows in the Northern direction as Andrew sold to him at one of them.
  4. Well, he hasn't actually told me but I think it's safe to say that he won't be setting up there.
  5. I doubt that I'll go to Kapow this year, I went last year and there doesn't seem any point I going after having been to LSCC especially since they put their ticket price up this year. I'm planning to set up at the Royal National later in the year for the first time in four or five years. I'd be interested in knowing how the show is doing since being under new management.
  6. I think that Henry mentioned that he's going didn't he? I think that Sumyra's setting up there.
  7. Well, if you want mine at cover price after I've read it then let me now (the Venom, not the NYX ).
  8. I should be picking up a copy soon. Did you say you were looking for NYX # 3 too?
  9. I just sold to Chris for the second time and he is a true gent and a pleasure to deal with. It was a pair of stabbed FF's this time and they couldn't be going to a better home. Thanks for the trade, Chris. (thumbs u
  10. Sorry to hear about your dads fall, Dai. Glad to hear that he's out of hospital though, I wish him a speedy recovery.
  11. Sorry to hear that, Dai. Hope it turns out that you can make the con. You'd better make it next year or your comic geek membership will be in danger of being revoked.
  12. Who has found the popcorn monster threatening?
  13. I read that you went to a Greek Expo Damn this scrumpy is powerful stuff (thumbs u haha, you thought i went smashing plates? Yeah pretty much...and drinking ouzo Ah ...... ouzo. Brings back memories. Or half memories at least.
  14. Got any super high grade Marvel westerns or horror titles? Haven't got much in the way of high grade westerns or horror but got quite high grade Marvel. Feel free to have a look through my registry sets to see if there's anything of interest.
  15. From my point of view, the value of the probation list is twofold. Firstly it shows potential buyers or sellers who has a record for being bad to deal with and therefore protects the potential buyers and sellers. Secondly it is a significant incentive for anyone buying or selling to conduct themselves in an honest and honourable manner, basically honour your deals or you'll be put on the probation list and it'll stop people from dealing with you. RMA has welcomed probation listers so is obviously not worried about being ripped off by anyone which is his potential problem. By stating that he welcomes probation listers though, he's deliberately giving those who have been put on the list for reneging on a deal, a way to buy here and therefore lessen the effectiveness of the probation deterrent. There aren't any rules against dealing with probies so if RMA doesn't give a damn about those who have been messed around by those on the list, there's nothing to stop him from doing so. In my opinion, there should be something in the rules about it though so maybe it should be put to the boards to amend the rules?
  16. Good luck to you too, mate. Look forward to meeting you at the con. (thumbs u
  17. Thanks Dai. I've signed up to a web host but unfortunately, I'm really crarp with computers so it may take me a while. Andrew (Comicopolis) and I still have the Comicopolis web store up and running at the moment but we'll be pursuing our own comic selling ventures.
  18. got a X-Men 1 or Grimm Fairy Tales 1? Sorry, nope. Got an FF # 1, Avengers # 1, Daredevil # 1 and a Spawn # 1.
  19. I won't be setting up this year at the show as I'm only just setting up in business as "The Comic Box" but I can bring some stuff if anyone wants anything that I'm selling. Already bringing my slabbed Iron Man # 1 along as a US boardie has agreed to buy it and I've got about 15,000 more comics to sell.
  20. One of my unfulfilled goals in my collection was to get a # 21 in the condition that I wanted. I ended up missing out on one once because I asked if it was pressed and it sold before I could get an answer. They rarely come up for sale.
  21. Are you going to list anything else in your selling thread? nope, no one really will bite at cheap comics, i am putting a database together though so if any of you lot where its cheaper to post are interested then i can quickly forward it over Forward it to me when it's ready, mate. (thumbs u
  22. Are you going to list anything else in your selling thread?
  23. There's no harm in offering stuff on the boards, at least it's all free.
  24. Shows are a lot of work and a lot of money to put out for an uncertain return. Apart from the table fee's there's also petrol cost, the need for a large enough vehicle, possibly the need for a second person to man the tables if you're hoping to do a lot of trade or check out the show yourself. Parking and loading/unloading is no fun. When I used to sell, I remember seeing most new guys turn up once and never seeing them again, selling at shows is something that you learn to do better after you've done it a few times. I don't blame you for going with eBay as it does take a lot of the effort out but the fees and poor treatment of sellers by eBay are off-putting for me.
