  1. You're right, it's difficult to sell low value items internationally on the boards. Mainly it's the postage costs that are the problem but also most low value items are more available in the US than the UK anyway. I've sold plenty of CGC books and higher value raw books internationally on the boards successfully (and FT has sold a massive amount internationally) so the boards are a great way to sell the right stuff. Comics that were produced in the UK and have interest to US buyers will sell here too. Selling at the shows can be a good way to shift stuff but don't expect a huge sell through unless you're priced very cheaply. You can sell a lesser amount for a reasonable oprice or sell a larger amount at a lesser price. I'm hoping to go back to selling at shows again soon.
  2. I'm also missing only #6 and I'm having a bit of trouble finding it in the grade range I want. What grades are you both looking for? I've got a CGC 8.0 available.
  3. I'm afraid I can't make the Saturday as I'm going to the rugby (or peanut hugging as Bane calls it). Gutted I'm going to miss the Saturday get together I'm sure you'll have a great time as the guys are a great bunch...but they do like their beer mind so bring your drinking boots (thumbs u Damn, Saturday is the day that I'm likeliest to be there so I'll probably miss you, mate. Ah well, I guess it won't be too long till we have the next booze up for the sake of it.
  4. Glad you like them as much as I did, Sam. The # 84 is particularly nice for the grade. Your Avengers set is is really looking good.
  5. Very nice Sam. I nearly bought that # 111 from Nick a couple of times.
  6. Has everyone got all of the excess energy out of their system yet?
  7. Sooooooooooooooo. How'd that work out? Sean voted "no." I totally did. I had a strong sense of how it was going to turn out. I voted no too but if it hadn't been that argument, it would've been the next argument he got into shortly afterwards. Arguing seems to be part of RMA's ideal board experience.
  8. Just dealt with Tom again and he's as great to sell to as to buy from. There is no one on the boards who I would be happier to deal with and I look forward to the next time. A shout out to Tom, one of the all time great board members (and I really mean it, not just trying to be nice).
  9. Same for me. (thumbs u (well, different board member obviously).
  10. Dealt with Sam for the first time in a trade deal for a bulk batch of comics and it went flawlessly. Grading, packaging and communication were all excellent. Sam's been great to deal with and I hope to deal with him again in the future. Thanks mate.
  11. Just sold to Tim for the second time and he's great to deal with. Prompt payment and professional attitude, I hope we can deal again soon. Thanks Tim.
  12. I fail to see the relevance of RMA to anything? We're surely allowed to discuss selling guideline violations in his absence?
  13. Being honest is not hiding a PGX book for sale. Being dishonest is deliberately covering it up. I'm not trying to say that there aren't levels of dishonesty but deliberately hiding facts after having been caught doing it before is certainly a level of dishonesty. To be fair, it wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't a repeat offender but any excuses of ignorance or "not thinking it was a big deal" are well past used. I've never had any contact with VTcomics before so have no personal agenda but if he wants to use the selling forum then he shouldn't be spitting at the rules.
  14. Whoa now. Phil is nice fellow and sells quality material. To immediatly push the probation threat on Phil is premature at best. As just witnessed about a month ago between POV and divad and the "Trey on the probation list - off the probation" list fiasco... whats going on here is to be handled by the Mods and was obviously settled upon with the Trey situation. As I've stated before, if the Mods find a problem with any listing or seller and they deem it necessary for action, then let them do their job. That said, have whatever ammendments made to whatever rules you find necessary to make each and every one of you sleep better at night. Just please don't try to fry a seller UNTIL ANY NEW RULE IS AMMENDED AND PUT IN PLACE by the powers that be. Until then, just push the little "notify mods" button and let them do what they deem fit. Phil really doesn't need the hassle right here at Christmas... does he? If a change to the official rules is made then I'm sure that infringements would be punished going forward but not retroactively used on those who have broken the rules in the past. Having said that, while I'm sure Phil is a nice guy, it didn't stop him repeatedly breaking the rules of the hosts who allow him and us to list our comics here for free. If the mods did punish him then he completely bought it on himself, Christmas or not.
  15. (thumbs u I think that either the label should be shown or declaring that the book is CGC graded should suffice. A declaration means nothing. The ones that crop the label out to circumvent the already established rules wouldn't have any problem declaring a book to be CGC graded when it isn't. While I agree that there are people here that would lie, it would be difficult for them to try selling on the boards while lying about who their books are encapsulated by, eg someone sells their ASM # 129 PGX 8.0 while conforming with board rules by declaring it as CGC 8.0. Somebody buys it and and says WTF when they find out it's PGX. It doesn't work for the seller. If the rules said either scans of the label or declaration of encapsulation then anyone caught lying goes on the probation list, anybody who refuses to declare if their books are raw or CGC after being reminded of the rules gets put on the probation list.

  17. Mc'alpines price guide has probably got a listed value for them.
  18. I remember that annual, I picked it up at a car boot sale as a kid in the early eighties. I'd never read many Avengers stories from that period at the time.
  19. Is the style of story in the modern Beano similar to how it was 30 years ago or has it changed/evolved much?
  20. As I said in the CG thread, not having the money to send the books isn't an excuse as the money for the shipping has already been sent to the seller. If the seller doesn't make this right immediately then it sounds like he should be on the probie list.
  21. I've not seen any Marvel UK books slabbed and if they did accept them for encasing, I'm sure that they wouldn't accept them with the free gifts. I've got a feeling that they've made a statement to this effect in the past but I can't remember where I've seen it. Actually, CGC has and does slab them and will slab them with free gifts as long as they are firmly attached and not freefloating. Therefore, if it physically still part of the book and won't damage it when it is mooshed in the slab, you're fine to send it in. (thumbs u I thought the reason they wouldn't slab with a free gift was because of potential damage once slabbed. I guess it depends what the free gift is. The mask that came with Captain Britain would be OK but I'm not so sure about the boomerang thingy.
