  1. I've not seen any Marvel UK books slabbed and if they did accept them for encasing, I'm sure that they wouldn't accept them with the free gifts. I've got a feeling that they've made a statement to this effect in the past but I can't remember where I've seen it.
  2. Trey Cannon once agreed to buy a book via PM that I had on my website then asked to wait till after a con to pay. I agreed and took the book off of the website. After not hearing back from him for sometime, I PM'd him to see what was happening and he backed out of the deal. It didn't really seem worth probation list at the time but it's just another little piece to add to a tapestry of bad dealings.
  3. There are a lot of collectors who will only collect the cents copies, some who will collect either and a few that collect them because they like them. The gap in value between cents and pence copies has closed a bit in recent years and depending on what the comic is and what grade it is, my opinion is that pence copies usually run about 2/3 of value of cents these days. Here's a link to a recent thread in the Bronze forum discussing them. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5140496#Post5140496
  4. Seven dead, one girl in a coma and dozens with injuries.
  5. I'd like to know who it us though as he should definitely be aware that there are no import taxes to pay on comics in the UK. +1, seems like this guy is trying to "try it on" with you. Would you be willing to let me know who it is, if only by PM?
  6. Brilliant. Always loved the cover on the Vampire Tales Annual.
  7. Great comics, though it'd probably be cheaper to buy slabbed comics in that grade than to buy raw comics and get them slabbed. (thumbs u
  8. Clearly. You just can't stop. I'm like crack. I'm sure your mother will be very proud when she hears you're like crack. I could insert the usual mother-based retort here, such as "your mum's so fat, she can't even jump to conclusions", but I would find that to be banal and pedestrian, so I choose not to. Why would you even jokingly think of insulting my mother? I didn't insult yours.

  10. You like RMA? Oh, don't you try it, Mister. You're still on my snit list. I don't remember why anymore.... ...but you ARE, so don't you go cozying up to me. You have a spread sheet? How else could you remember everyone? Remember everyone...? Oh, heavens, you have me confused with someone else. I only put people on my snit list that I care about. Oh, and: Admit it. You're an addict. Oh yeah, you're addictive like chewing tobacco.
  11. That's some great finds, I thought that comics had disapeared from that kind of thing. I used to pick up comics at car boot sales when I was a kid and young teen but they just stopped appearing.

  13. EVERY collection that is not just an accumulation, that was assembled with any thought, is a WORTHY collection. I hate to agree with RMA on or about anything, Why? Simply because I point out that you did the very same things elsewhere that you rail against here? I am utterly ambivalent towards you. I've known you for a very, very long time, and I ceased caring a long time ago. I know you're batshat crazy, and I accept it. I don't go after you like some do, and I certainly don't toss the vitriol your way that some do. I also don't waste my time, your time, or the board's time trying to cajole/convince/harangue/reason with you to change your behavior, because grown men trying to change the behavior of other grown men on the internet is the height of absurdity. I accept you for precisely what and who you are. You should really develop your discernment, Cal. (thumbs u You've just tried to change him into developing his discernment.
  14. CAL thought there were only a few hundred copies of this book that existed in high grade and thought he could corner the market. After he bought several hundred and he couldn't effect the market price, he realized he'd left out a zero or two from his initial calculations. Despite Cal's insistence that he was victim of an upswell of 'anti-CGC' feeling on the eBay boards, it was actually this that started the rot over there. As a new poster over there, he laid out his plans/intentions. When the logic was questioned by some very knowledgeable collectors, things started to fall apart. this is true. Never denied this. Not once. Ever. BUT BUT BUT you guys( and SKY, and another lady who has NOT posted on my recent threads in an uncharacteristic manner) are LEAVING OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM... don't make me spell it out again.Just admit what the FACTS are regarding my "case" and I promise to drop everything. I DARE you you admit it, maybe that will work. Can't stay long because I gotta go. CAL who WILL prove his case - by getting them to admit just ONE little detail that they just won't budge on... How about, you just tell us what this most important item is? Unless you do, then I suspect that it was a figment of your imagination as most people who want to make a point do so by.......making a point.
  15. ...and now that I've brished my teeth, good night to all.
  16. Sorry to be the crick in your hitch. Oh, come on. You'd fall out with your breakfast. He's just pickin a fight. Par for the course. "Par for the course".... No, dear, setting the record straight. I don't "pick fights", though the eternally thin-skinned might think so. As far as picking fights, how about this: You just can't keep your word, can you? I read your post to Cal, and wanted to respond, but, see, I'm a man of my word. If you don't post to/about me, I don't post to/about you. But...you...just...can't...control...yourself. But it didn't stop you from 'picking' on me in this thread. Even though you (a) have me on ignore and (b) have declared that we should avoid each another. But...you...just...can't...control...yourself. But.... surely RMA ignores people that he puts on ignore? I'm sure he's posted such things before? Ignore must be mutual, or it serves no purpose. And I don't mean the "ignore function." Someday, there will be a board that has a functional ignore. You put someone on ignore, they can't see anything you post either, either directly or quoted. That will be a very nice board for me. Well, just since I did say that you must have posted something along those lines before... ..... which does go against your being the first to rag on FT in this thread. ...except, of course, it has to go BOTH WAYS, as I said. Putting someone on ignore doesn't therefore give them carte blanch to say anything they wish about the party doing the ignoring. There is no "first", as if every thread is a brand new clean slate, and previous interaction is not to be considered. That is quite obviously absurd. In reality, nearly every single thread on this board comes with more baggage than a Samsonite convention. Your argument is the same one kids make: "He hit me first!" "Well, what did you do to make him want to hit you" "Nothing!" But FT says he hasn't responded to you in over a month and I doubt that he'd state that here if it were untrue so it was pretty much a ceasefire until you just quoted him, right? Also, I believe I recall you saying to FT that the two of you should just avoid each other so it seems to me that you're doing pretty much the same thing that you called me up on.
  17. I'm really hoping for a full on RMA/Cal argument here but I'm going to bed now. Keep the home fires burning.

  20. Well, I wasn't trying to pick a fight with you. I thought you might appreciate the humour. I've been an evil person in the past and this is the new, nice me.
  21. Sorry to be the crick in your hitch. Oh, come on. You'd fall out with your breakfast.
  22. He posted nothing inappropriate unless you deem disagreeing with you to be inappropriate. As far as I can tell, his "offences" were that he didn't own CGC comics, he was new to the boards and he disagreed with you. ..... and for the record, I'd never submitted any comics to CGC before joining the CGC boards. Would I have done that first submition, had I not been able to join the boards because of your proposed policy? I don't know but I do know that it would have been less likely. Why you think preventing potential customers from accessing the boards would be in CGCs best interests is beyond me and you've not done anything that makes me have the slightest understanding of your position. Again, I say that you're communication skills are falling flat and I don't say that to insult you but as honest advice.
  23. It's not spin. Allowing those who submit comics to participate in the forum are YOUR standards, not anyone elses. Whether you call it worthiness or something else is just semantics. What I said is not changed by the word you use to describe it.
