  1. It was definingly my entry point for this forum, wondering what my comics were worth. So, yeah, making it more difficult for new people to post there seems counter-productive.
  2. I'm going to lie and say I have almost got them all to demotivate everyone else.
  3. Oh no. This is a race? I couldn't even think about starting this until the weekend. Some of us have real jobs you know.
  4. There was a complaint(?) raised about non-comic movies being discussed in the "comic-related" movie forum. I don't know, I preferred it in the other spot so I didn't have to scroll down, but I sort of understand that at least the original intent of that sub-forum was for movies related to the comics, and it had expanded beyond that. I think it actually got moved because suddenly there was a lot of non-comic related discussion happening. At least in certain threads.
  5. Wow. This set just happens to be the exact group of books I am missing in my run. I know they're not valuable, and I wasn't really planning on ever filling this out, but, Take the lot, please and thank you.
  6. Not sure why this would even be in question. It would be ridiculous to say that only the $3.00 books are "free." And if the store tried to say, sorry, that's the way it works, then the answer would seem to be to just not buy the $3.00 books. Or make two separate transactions. Yes?
  7. Man, that's very sad. He seemed a very nice guy.
  8. Yeah, it's somewhat annoying to have to scroll down now to get to it, as opposed to it being right there at the top. But I guess they felt it wasn't comic/CGC related enough to have that top position.
  9. Eh. It's the kind of thing where they really could do a female herald. There have been plenty over they years. It's just that - unless there's a compelling reason - why do it? And "we want to be more diverse and have more important female roles in this movie" just doesn't really cut it as a compelling reason. And this is coming from someone who is generally all about inclusiveness and diversity. I am leaving open the possibility that they actually do have a reason, and maybe an interesting character who the story dictates be female (I am imagining now, a romance angle, something like Frankie Ray and Johnny Storm). But if they are just going for a straight gender flip, and have her backstory be the same as Norrin Radd - except she's "Norry Radd"....That will not go over well at all.
  10. Haven't read this, though I am generally interested in books about the business. I know I posted a breakdown of this movie some time back with a few of my issues with it. I just didn't think it was good, irrespective of marketing (though I agree the bland and borderline ridiculous name change did not help).
  11. I assume Kang has the rather pedestrian motive of "ruling the multiverse." Or something like that. Maybe it's going to be with a more benevolent motivation like "I need to rule, because no one else can do it as well as me." Or perhaps I should say maybe that was what it was going to be because I think Kang might be dead as the next big villain. Don't really know. I always thought he wasn't a great choice to be the next "big bad" to begin with, but maybe they were thinking ahead about how they were going to need to have a multi-verse to re-boot heroes and introduce new ones that we otherwise should have already seen (like the X-Men), and Kang is kind of a multi-verse villain.
  12. He's 48. By way of comparison, I think Robert Downey, Jr. was 42 or 43 when he started playing Iron Man. Although that was when the movie actually came out. By the time a FF movie comes out Pascal will likely be at least 50.
  13. I would definingly have to re-read this (it's been decades) to have an idea if they could actually turn it into a good movie. Trying to think of an analogue now and having a hard time. Military movies + Aliens? Starship Troopers? Is the tone deadly serious or is it humorous? I really can't remember.
  14. You are not wrong. Here's some stuff I didn't like about this movie: This is what worked for me:
  15. Definitely some "Birds of Prey" vibes happening here.
  16. I know. It's just, I really would like to get my target something they actually want. And sometimes with these kinds of exchanges it can feel a bit like throwing darts at a board. I've heard (and this hasn't happened to me yet ) about people who's "want" list consists entirely of something like: "Surprise Me."
