This has happened to me twice, although I can't recall what the second piece was! (But I knew it happened twice). In both cases, I bought it back for less what what I sold it for and sold it again The one I do remember was an EVS Green Lantern Rebirth page that I bought from Spencer during one of his sales. Someone asked about it on CAF and I sold it. Then a few months later, I saw it listed on ebay with a really bad scan (small and unfocused) with a starting price at ~60% of the price I sold it at. I was the only bidder. Then a few months later I sold it again Malvin

agreed for the most part, except you have to realize that with auctions (and any sale venue I suppose) there are always outliers, and the trick is understanding what is an outlier and what isn't. Malvin

When you think its always going to be available, even if the price is reasonable, you don't feel the urgency to act. Once it's at auction, you know you have to act if you want it. I see it often on lower end items. Either I have it for sale on my CAF, or someone else does, and once it goes to auction, it goes for more than the previous for sale price. Malvin

While I believe that the floor is certainly high for any older big 2 covers, I think better covers (be it content or artist) would still fetch a premium over plainer covers. It's just that a rising tide floats all boats (or however that expression goes) Malvin

grail is a strong word, and overpaying is relative. So if are talking "real money" (which for me is a few thousand) I would not overpay unless it was "grailish" However, if we are talking something cheap, like a $25 page that it would take $100 to buy, I would do it if it hits a nostalgic sweet spot. As well, if I like it, I could spend $100 on a page that is worth only $5 (or $0) with little hesitation. Malvin
