  1. you boys were still talking comics at this point ya I say this, as went to all the trouble of turning my avatar view back on... it's turned off for work purposes. (thumbs u
  2. Nick, for early SA I think this extremely correct, and for later SA I find it does blur. But more in the sense where all the grades 9.2,9.4,9.6 have examples that on any given day could sit in each others' holders. My most stunning book I own, and cannot fathom how the spine is so sublime, is my DS #182 PC copy. It was obviously a completely unread PC copy. Far outstripping many of my 9.8's. Though saying this, I know the criteria CGC looks for to garner the 9.8 mantle. The 9.2 rule does make huge financial sense, recently I picked up one of the TTA#40 9.2 WM copies for $1,150, and the PC 9.4 copy offered at the same time for approx $4,500. The difference in grade, apperance, and price just did't remotely add up. Though the ped notation, W pages was also a big draw card. It's fair say, those factors make 9.2's very attractive (thumbs u
  3. Beah, two stunners!!! #97, I've always regarded as fabulous Hulk book, and was for a long time a hard book to locate in grade. And even now looks light compared to other runs arouind the same time. And #41.. classic early Ant-man cover!! TTA envy all the way! Though seeing your other posting's, I thought you were more just the Hulk afficianado
  4. Does this mean you have another closet of GA Very nice collection by the way (thumbs u
  5. Doctor Strange 1 does price high in the guide, but try getting half that in real life. A major adjustment needs to be made in Overstreet for that one. Marvel Premiere 3 is a sweet book. Is it a BWS cover or am I confused? Yes it is, BWS all the way through. Though a DS #1 9.8 routinely hit's $500...an aweful lot for that book in my opinion.
  6. I managed to pop a grail the other week... no scan available unfortunately, but I'll check at home later tonight. But Marvel Premiere #3 CGC 9.8, one of only 2 copies on the census. Classic black covered Doctor Strange. For some reason it doesn't get as much mclovin as the regular series #1, which prices out for more... something I always thought odd, as they are very common in HG.
  7. Ditto well done on another big addition
  8. Are you kidding me??? This sold for ONE THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED, and EIGHTY DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guide price is $55 in NM. So this sold for 29 times guide price. INSANE! Yup, that is insane. Though BA horror seems to of splintered into modern like pricing... 9.8's, and 1 of 1's through the roof, and everything else gets a so so response from bidders.
  9. So any of you guys know who was the big spender on the last clink auction for those 9.8 spideys
  10. Colan was at his best on this short lived title in my opinion, ST was wear he sharing the duties, and then with the Doc title he had full rein to do as he please from cover to contents. Looks like it took it at full swing

  12. do you need an apprentice ...and of course an apprentice's assistant
  13. Is that the Kaluta hour-glass cover
  14. Marvel Tales 2? I'm fairly sure that reprints one the later stories from Hulk 1-6. Thanks though.
  15. Avengers 17 He's on the cover even ....added to the list
  16. Guys, I've asked Gemma on the registry to put a SA Hulk set together, the list is this below so far - let me know if I missed anything Hulk 1-6 Avengers 1-3,5,51 Tales of Suspence 49 Journey into Mystery 112 Fantastic Four 12,25-26 Amazing Spider-man 14 TTA 59-101 Strange Tales 156 Incrdible Hulk 102-122 Silver Surfer 4 Captain America 110 Iron man 9 - you decide?? Marvel Super heroes 21 Incredible Hulk Annual Also chime in on the thread to lend some support for her listing it, if your interest. (thumbs u
  17. Beach, a kick azz pickup! Such a hard to come by issue in high grade :applause: I think your making a few of us look a little asleep on the job here (thumbs u ...actually looking at the scan, I'm a little surprised that book didn't grade higher. The movement around the lower staple is allowable on 9.8's, and the rest of the book seems faultless. BC, what's it like in the flesh?
  18. :headbang: fantastic book!! p.s, looks like you got hosed on the TMNT, what were the graders notes
  19. Still untouchable (worship) ...and sadly, even by Gaimen himself, he's not done anything of comparable qulaity since
  20. Very impressive, and great new slant on the collecting angles. I'd love to see some posted once you've completed them. And it's always interesting to see what was happening when in relation to different titles. A lot of us do get title-centric sometimes. Thanks for sharing! (thumbs u
  21. Only GPA data for this book in any grade is the one you bought, Vaughn So yes, you DID in fact set a new GPA record (thumbs u p.s great looking PT book!
  22. Korvac, didn't Doug Schmell call this the one thee toughest SA Marvels to get in grade Great pick up
  23. Now that is a sweet book! I made an offer to Stephen for it (Bill - no comment please). As the book looks to be an absolutely stunning copy. And it is quite difficult to locate in 9.6 grade, with Stephen's copy (now your's) making no.5. It's presumed Tom Brulato has the 9.8, the WP copy, Doug has one OW 9.6 copy, you have one, so after mine that leaves 1 9.6 copy unaccounted for. And still a book looking to emerge price wise (thumbs u
