  2. That is a Beauty Dan!! You're sure right about those colors looking incredible and no fading. Nice pick-up. (thumbs u
  3. :applause: Nice books Billy!! (thumbs u fay
  4. A couple of my favorite Greytones and the first one has very special meaning to me and arrived a few days ago on my birthday as a gift from one of our generous fellow board members. Love this cover BTW Jeff, I love the new Sig line. (thumbs u
  5. :acclaim: :acclaim: :acclaim: A big Kudos and Thank You to Brad or Red Hook for one of my favorite books and it even arrived on my Birthday!! Thank you Brad, (worship) fay
  6. I thought it was pink covers and war comics. Very nice set of books -- a Heath, a Kubert and a Grandenetti! You could be right and I do remember saying that with OAAW 85 coming to mind and I know I love the green colors DC used on their war books. The black and yellow that was combined on OFF 25 is stunning. The more I think about there are not many color combinations on DC war books I don't enjoy. Thanks for the compliments on the Showcase 45 you guys and I've been looking for un upgrade for over three years now. I'm normally not a slabber of books and would love to one day own that book in a CGC 8.0 to 9.0 Slab. Of course I would never sell my cherished undercopy. My first BIG money book at a whopping 70.00 about four years ago. I sure hope our friend Jeff has time this weekend to step this thread up a notch if that's even possible lately. I love these boards and this thread Rocks!!
  7. What the heck, I'll show my sub par copy that took a few years of searching and I just lucked out to find this one during one of October's sales thread. Sam Glazman is awesome in these books and I'm very partial to the whole 15 cent run up to and past the Giants up to issue 246. Good Luck on your hunt Karma. (thumbs u Shep, I was wondering if Sam Glazman or any mention of the USS Stevens stories are on any of the newer style CGC labels? Thanks in advance.
  8. It's a PGX 9.2 and I haven't seen many HG copies around and grabbed that one from LoisandClark for 55.00 if I remember correctly. I wish it was CGC, but like you said not many around.
  9. Another Beautiful green cover and your last book posted before that wasn't too bad either with the incredible bright purple Key book. Nice pick-ups!! Beaumonts, I had to check again this morning to see if I wasn't dreaming and those are sure some sweeeeeeet GICs. I've never seen a HG GIC 124 before. Thanks for sharing all those incredible books. What a thread and it's been fantastic lately.
  10. Beautiful Book Shep and I was tempted to show mine, but I think it's only a VF+ maybe VF/NM. Here are a few of my favorite BA war books I have accumulated so far and growing each month. The first is one of my favorite Rock covers and I would hate to be German and meet this mean looking Mo-Fo in my slit trench. This is a great cover and story to match on this SSWS book. I stumbled across this HG baby and I didn't even know I owned it. Larry, This time I tried nails through the table and it worked pretty good holding those books upright. Thanks for the tip. fay
  11. I was just taking a few pics of my favorite books and decided to post a few, but that's hard to follow Beaumonts and Shep. Great books your Guys!! :applause: Here is the book that basically started the war book craze for me and I instantly fell in love with this book and Russ Heath. This was one of the first war books I owned and I need an upgrade. Something about black covers and war books go hand in hand.
  12. :applause: Kudos to Blutobc for a couple of nice Spideys I couldn't pass up. Always a pleasure dealing with you Brian. Thanks again, fay
  13. A BIG KUDOS to BigFiver69 for an awesome selection of incredible books at some wicked prices. (thumbs u Always a pleasure to deal with you Shep and Thank You so much for letting me pay you on payday. (worship) fay
  14. I know what you mean Fay. Something about the green that is very appealing. I found this one last year. It's so glossy it looks wet. The scan doesn't do it any justice at all. Never seen that cover before and another one added to my want list. Beautiful book!!
  15. Great books Shep!! (thumbs u Adam, If liking that cover makes you a bit of "Geek", count me in. I love war books with lots of green color on the cover and I find more OFF covers meet that requirement. Here's a cover I think is pretty nice and the Japs are doomed. No offence intended to anyone of Japanese decent. Here is some Russ Heath sweetness.
  16. I'm thinking about selling one, I have doubles of Combat #1 both CGC SS's by heath. Not sure how to price it, but if I do I'll let ya know. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!! (worship)
  17. Very nice! Somebody's gotta have a list of DC's uses of the "I can't see but you can't use your hands" plot. There must be a dozen appearance on war covers alone, plus westerns and other adventure books. Jack Looking through my boxes of goodies I found another "you be my eyes, I'm blind story" ...just for you Jack. I wish I could find more issues available in higher grade of this title.
  18. Jeff, I could only find one but I don't have the full run. Don Heck did the pencils and Severin was the inker on the inside art.
  19. Great book Trooper, (thumbs u I watched you win that book and I really like Ira the seller and have bought some pretty nice looking 10 centers he graded as only VG. I find he's a pretty strict grader especially for older books on e-bay. PS: Do you still have any SS Heath covers you just might sell to a big fan of Airborne Troopers.
  20. They know what you'll do to them if they don't pay. Send them 666 PMs til they lose the will to live? I can't believe I'm saying this, but I sort of miss those encounters with the devil through PMs. Divad, we do have a discussion thread for this type of post.
  21. My pleasure Eddie and you are an excellent addition to these boards yourself. :headbang:  (thumbs u (thumbs u I'm glad the book made it safe and sound and a BIG THANK YOU to you for helping Mathew out. You Sir *Comicbubba* , are a class act yourself. (worship) (worship) fay
  22. Here is my contribution to 1961 Love that Wildman!!
  23. Fay, what kind of magic are you using to keep this book standing straight? Great, great books, nonetheless! Andy Andy, I just taped the top of the book to the coffee table. Removing the tape only leaves a little bit of damage. J/K
  24. I love that OFF book Fay... one of my favorite DC war covers of all time.... and wicked hard to find in grade. Shep Thanks you guys, When I build up the nerve to submit a few books these two might be taking the trip to Florida. The OFF is very near flawless as far as I can tell. As soon as I get a scanner I'll re-post it in "Spare me a Grade" and see what you experts think. fay
