  1. Please forgive my ignorance and could some one please explain what the term "short bus" means? I've never heard that term before and have seen it two days in a row. Is it a less common GA book? Thanks in advance. fay
  2. But only one Marvel Comics 1. It'll never work. [sigh] Jack Time for you to hussle up some scratch for that second book Jack. There's an "itch" joke lurking around here, but fortunately I have extraordinary self-control. Jack It's bad enough dealing with my better half when a package of comics arrives at my place and the Hubbie sure wouldn't appreciate an itch.

  4. I don't post very often over here in Gold, but on this special occasion Congrats Rick!! :applause: fay
  5. That's an incredible series of documentries and I really like the stories of back home during that brutal war. I may be a little off on my numbers, but I thought I heard that 3 million cars were built in 1941 and then another 139 for the next four years. Your last question is a really good one and I often wonder about todays' society and would the generation "me" put up with it? I doubt it and I hope I'm wrong.
  6. WOW!!! That's a beauty. Nice pick up. (thumbs u
  7. All of Keith Marlow's books for sale are with Heritage and he was sticking to that plan the last time I spoke to him by e-mail.
  8. Fay, this is the first post. Skip the rest. CAL Cal, I read the whole thread and then came to my conclusion after promising myself I wouldn't get into this one. I hope my comments haven't added fuel to the simmering fire.
  9. I see Cal's point to some extent and also agree with many others that an off topic post regarding something of a personal nature like a wedding , birth or something spectacular or even tragic in our daily lifes is okay. I would only want to share that info with the many friends I've met on the comics boards. I've been to the Water Coller and survived but didn't know as many of my friends I know here. I think like the rules of the boards state that OT threads in moderation is okay as long as it's kept to a reasonable small percentage. I hate to see Cal upset or angry and after that weekend with all the strikes, I thought we would make a better attempt to be more civil to each other for quite some time. The boards just seem a little too heavy for me today. Just my , maybe only a penny. fay
  10. That's good news that you made it to safety and your family and comics are safe and sound. Many of your Northern nieghbors are hoping and praying for the safety of everyone in the area and praying for rain and the winds to calm down. Good luck and stay safe. fay
  11. Awesome books Karma. (thumbs u You sure had a successful hunt at the show you attended. I've never seen those two Combat covers before and they are incredible. Nice pick ups on the Bronze age war thread also.
  12. I see your point and I know my precious Spidey 33 went to an excellent home. Wally (Nerfherder-3) is getting very close to reaching his goal and knowing I might have helped a little actually makes me happy. (thumbs u
  13. That would be a NO. If I can ever get that damn 132 9.8, then that set may go the way of the chopping block next, but it is too close to being finished to bail now. You're a stronger person or collector than me and I can still remember leaving the Post office after shipping my CGC 9.2 Spidey 33 and shedding a few tears on the short walk home.
  14. :applause: Congrats on a Beautiful book Danny!!! (worship) There sure has been some wicked X-Men books change hands around here lately. I wonder if the good Doctor Watson has a slight case of seller's remorse.
  15. :applause: Awesome books Rhonda!!! That X-Men # 4 is an outstanding copy of a wicked book. You're on a roll, you go girl. (thumbs u
  16. Nice set of books! (thumbs u Bonds, you have good taste. That is my favorite cover of the ones I posted (going up against Kubert, Adams, and Cardy no less) and the one that started me collecting all the war themed bronze BATBs. It's probably the toughest to find in HG of all the bronze issues in that mini-set. The 124 CGC 9.8 is a Ewert book and I bought the CGC 8.0 in 2005 only to find that it had production tears all along the back cover. Other than that, there is only one more 9.6 and a single 9.4. That is a cool cover and I think I've only seen it a few other times but not in that nice of shape. Those are all sweet books you posted. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Congrats Andy!! (thumbs u :applause: That's quite the accomplishment. BTW Angelo, Nice books!!!
  18. (thumbs u Our Army at War is definitely my favorite of the DC Big five titles but GIC sure grows on you and I find myself searching for more and more of the books from that title. Great cover Karma and I just seen a GIC 124 for the first time today and it's moved up on my want list. Anyone have a nice undercopy? fay
  19. :applause: Kudos to Apotheosis for some sweet books packaged to perfection. Thank you Brad, (worship) fay
  20. :applause: :applause: (thumbs u A big KUDOS and a Bigger THANK YOU goes out to Buck Biggins for two strictly graded Sweeeeeet DC war books. That GIC with the Russ Heath cover is incredible!! (worship) (worship) Excellent seller and thank you once again for waiting for my payment. :foryou:
  21. :applause: THANK YOU GREGGY!!!!! :applause: Awesome books, fast shipping and incredible packaging. Thanks again for letting me pay late as usual. (worship) :foryou:
  22. :applause: Thank You Flee, Another Classic!!! (worship) You sure brightened my day. I've got to start saving my money and try to order a GREGGY-9000. He would look great on my balcony. Is he water-proof? fay
