  1. Nice HOM! There are TONS of HOM & HOS in this thread. Bill
  2. I think I got it from Harley's bargin bin...many moons ago!
  3. Thats Joe Maneely trying to do the "DC House Style". I believe that the few stories that Joe did for DC were freelanced shortly after the "Atlas Implosion". Very different style than his Atlas stuff, but you can still see the artist's brilliance shining through. The #73 is actually a very rare issue in HG. Nice copy! Bill
  4. True it is quite rare in HG...here is my copy. This kind of has some elements of a wash-tone, dont you think? Bill
  5. Many thanks Rick...Nice #6 you have there! Its one of the few MGAs I do not have...yet! Bill
  6. I'll translate: AMAZING ADVENTURES # 1 FN (SR) AMAZING ADVENTURES # 2 VG+ AMAZING ADVENTURES # 3 FN (trimmed) AMAZING ADVENTURES # 4 NOT YET PROCESSED AMAZING ADVENTURES # 5 NOT YET PROCESSED AMAZING ADVENTURES # 6 NOT YET PROCESSED There's a big goof in AtlasFan's first line - he cites ComicLINK. ComicLink and ComicConnect are 2 separate entities. OOPSIES! sorry yes, I ment comic connect - the folks who are notorious for overgrading, not comic link - the folks who are notorious for overcharging on their "S&H fees!
  7. Yup, early in the series, al the strories were from the "first person" point of view. Notice that all the stories in this issue began with "I"..."I was a Knight in the 20th century", "I marries Lady Luck", "I hunted Goliath the Robot". Bill
  8. This thread needs a little love... Here is a nice copy of MGA #13. Great cover by Leonard Starr who did all too few sci-fi work for DC (he is best known for his long running newspaper strip: "On Stage with Mary Perkins". Also in this issue are some top-notch stories by Ruben Moreira and a cool robot story by Nick Cardy.

Almost as nice as mine...Almost that is.
  12. Here is an interesting lil' gem from the short-lived publishing house of MIKEROSS (Andru & Esposito). The premis here is that Mr. Universe is regularly a pro-wrestler, who, in his spare time, partakes in mercenary adventures with his buds. Here is a bit of forshadowing for A&E's later War that Time forgot series in SSWS. This is an early Andru dino...it looks something like a T-Rex.
  13. Great UFO vs Jet Fighter cover by Campbell. This could have been an EC cover (hmm, maybe it was!).
  14. Another great Severin cover (note the belt buckle) with a lone Kirby indian story.
  15. One of my favorite books...very traditional Severin gunslinger cover...with very dynamic all-Kirby interior.
  16. Barney Baxter? Barker Barney Barker? If you go to Metro's site, thier Barney Barker books are listed under "Barney Baxter". http://www.metropoliscomics.com/bookSearch.php?order=&sort=asc&pageNum=0&pageSize=50&aSearchPos=up&searchType=advanced&title=barney&issue=&search.x=0&search.y=0 Hmm. Is there some kind of AdamStrange / Metro connection? As Artie Johnson used to say..."Veeeeery Interesting!"
  17. yeah...@#*&% I still think KS pulled those 4 Aces from his sleave!
  18. Just nailed the River City copy of this landmark issue. D ick Giorgano does his best impression of Wally Wood here.
  19. Here are some super-nice copies of Atlas' SGT BARNEY BARKER...the Atlas answer to Sgt Bilko..great art by Severin. Severin based the fast-talking Barker not only on Bilko, but on Stan Lee - who looks alot like the Sarge! Anyone got a nice #2 ? Psst..I am also looking for nice copies (F or better) of SAILOR SWEENEY 12-14...thanks, Bill
  20. Here's the River City copy of this above par Atomic Age Charlton.
  21. Cool alien abduction cover...Mark Merlin just does not get enough love...just ask Elsa! In hand, this is definitly a gray-tone cover (alien..."grays"..get it? heh heh!)
  22. Cool alien abduction cover...Mark Merlin just does not get enough love...just ask Elsa.
  23. Speaking of Kirby, here are a couple issues of that oriental devil ..The Yellow Craw
