  1. The term homer is so weird. Like I get it, it* can be used to describe someone you think is an insufficiently_thoughtful_person, but it also describes someone who basically doesn’t put any effort but and still somehow succeeds.

So am I just winning arguments without even trying now? Lmao.

  2. People have been saying they’re waiting up to 15 days to see it logged in the system so it’s definitely an issue of people willing to pay more to get stuff graded faster. Even with the price increase CGC is still the cheapest option compared to Beckett or PSA. I don’t expect that to slow down until their prices match or a shutdown happens.

  3. I’m not sure if these even qualify to be graded. To my knowledge it’s just cards from the tcg. Check the online submission form. If information about the poker cards aren’t in there, then don’t send them in. They’ll reject the order, but still charge you the processing fee for each card because technically it went through their “verification services”.

I'd like to think there is minimal training involved in receiving and sorting packages. I could understand the difficulty presented with scaling a high quality grading operation, but I assume in this economy it should not be that hard to find people looking for jobs, but I could be wrong.

You’re right. You should apply to run their warehouse. Find the best package sorters.

The word lie has a lot of insinuation behind it.  Inaccurate (maybe), optimistic estimate based on planned changes to grading process or quantity of personnel (possibly).  For all we know, they do have a secret plan, and that could be actively training experts that will help them catch up, or closing off bulk submissions temporarily, or raising prices like the other companies again. If nothing changes though, and they grade 1 days worth of bulk submissions in longer than 1 day of effort (see my post above where I explain they have been making progress at a rate of about 2 days of bulk grading per week), logically the turnaround times can do nothing but increase.  At present rate, every week the bulk TAT should increase by 5 days.

Did it actually go up in the last 5 days, or is that an exaggeration? I haven’t looked at that page recently

  6. No you have to pay for them. Unless you paid for copies they are copyrighted images, kinda like how portrait companies would send home those test photos for school picture day.

Screenshotting isn’t even worth it if you’re trying to show off the condition of the card though, it’ll show up as super compressed and blurry when people try to zoom in on it on eBay. Just pay the $10 for hi res images and add it to the cost of the card on your listing. If you can’t justify that cost for the card, then you don’t need a screenshot and a simple smartphone photo will do instead.

Anyone's package delivered on 3/1 still not shown as received on "my submission" page? Kind of concerned. Wrote "EX" all over the box but seems like it doesn't help.

I think it depends on the shipping. FedEx and UPS you can probably sign online, but USPS needs an in person signature, and it had to be the person named on the package. Anyone else that answers the door will just get a package slip for you to bring to the postal office.
