I didn't actually have to research the answer. I've been following (and reporting on) prices for comics and comics art for maybe 15 years, so it wasn't like I was running a search to figure it out. And really, if I had to run a search it's dead easy to limit Heritage's results to a category. You don't have to actually search. You just click on Auction Hall of Fame which excludes some lots by Rockwell, which predate them pulling work like that into a separate category and you get their tops lots (almost all of which I've probably written up individually)

That's part of the 500 books I've sold over the past few months.

I am focusing mostly on keys and classic covers. No more runs for me. I've got a few, cheap ones, I will finish but I'm not starting anything new. In not particular order, I'm looking at books like Avengers 4, TOS 52/57, Wonder Woman #1 and a bunch of Superman and Batman GA covers.

It's taken a while, but I've almost turned the battleship that is my collection all the way around. I've got a new want list and anything that's not on it, has either already been sold (more than 500 graded books) or will be sold over the next month or two. Thinking about price per point today. This is the last ten years of Action #1. What would a meaningful single number look like for this book, based on this data set and how could we calculate it for other books. Is the current state of the trendline meaningful? Or is there some other way we could shake out this data which would make comparisons across books more useful? The focus in that article is on individual copies, so if we're trying to do a new version of the Overstreet top ten, then that article is no good. I will say that, in high grade at least, Hulk #1, Amazing Fantasy #15 and Fantastic Four #1 are all in the mix. Based on the list posted above, as a ready example, there's no million dollar copy of Wonder Woman #1, Flash #1 or Suspense #3 and the best copies of those three silver age books would all sell for seven figures. Marvel Comics #1 on the other hand... I know we're talking about golden age here, but it's worth noting. I will also take the bait!

They extend the end time whenever a new bid comes in in the last... 3 minutes? Even if they person wining doesn't end up with the highest bid. It's their special wrinkle on the online-only auctions.

That's another book I covered last week. I had no idea how valuable that book was, even in low grade.

I did. I wrote up why a little while ago. TL/DR; I was bored with collecting long runs, 1100+ graded comics was too many for me to handle, and seemed like it would be fun. It was.

What did you win tonight?

It was a really good night. The #1 and #7 were slightly lower than I'd hoped, but a bunch of other books picked up the slack, so I'm really happy with the way it went.
