  1. Yeah, it's a great looking copy. The spine is rough and the corners are really rounded, but it still presents really well. It's the kind of low grade book MADE for a CGC holder. The defects aren't as obvious.
  2. I always loved Jerry Weist's description of opening the White Mountain Amazing Fantasy 15 and audibly hearing the pages separate. The book was truly unread.
  3. If we're adding asterisks to every book that has been upgraded, then... that's a lot of asterisks. Also, the issues with the live stream wouldn't have artificially inflated the price (requiring an asterisk, I guess) it would have artificially lowered the price by depriving some unknown bitcoin millionaire the ability to bid $50,000,000
  4. Unsold books are onto eBay! BATMAN #181 CGC 3.5 SOLD Detective Comics #359 🤣 Superboy 68 CGC 3.0 😅
  5. Also, there have been times where they have re-run auctions because of widespread outages. I don't know that they'd do that in this particular case, but it has happened at least a couple of times that I remember
  6. It's first alphanumerically! All their auctions start with A1 and end with zot!
  7. It's possible that there were people shut out by the outage. If I were looking to bid on this book (or any real rarity) I'd have the phone number handy, for sure.
  8. At least one internet bidder, any number of them are referred to as "heritage live" by the auctioneer, was involved with the push from 2.6 to 3 million. There was another bidder on the phone. I was able to watch this live as the site was not down for me.
  9. Do you know which 9.4 it was? Any sales in GPA you can point to? I'd love to track the book through the ages (I definitely have the Sotheby's catalog, if it was sold there- do you know what year?)

  11. Which is just a saying. The idea that a Silver Age book could even temporarily take over the top spot is CRAZY CRAZY
  12. FWIW, there are something like 4 Superman Books (3 Actions #1s and the best Superman #1) and 4 Batman books (the 4 best Detective 27s) that would sell for more than 3.6 million. A few of those would sell for 2x/3x or more.
  13. If only that book would come up for sale. I do not believe it will any time soon.
  14. https://itsalljustcomics.com/all-time-record-comic-book-sales/ This new sale is literally off the charts (I need to update that visualization!)
  15. It was fine for me, the livestream. I know there were Heritage Live bidders involved, not just phone bidders.
  16. Heritage Sells Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 9.6 for $3,600,000, a New World Record for a Comic Book | It's All Just Comics
  17. I previously mentioned the practice of offering minimums to secure consignments as evidence of how far the pendulum can swing towards the consignor (in the highest end of the art world, at least.) He's a timely example. https://news.artnet.com/market/sothebys-macklowe-consignment-news-2007044
  18. How is this book not in the Platinum Session? I just look, trying to block out time at work to watch the auction and it's not for sale until tomorrow...
  19. Off topic, but that would be fun analysis- to see the grades of the different Gaines file sets, to see how they rank now versus when they were released.
