  1. I received 52 books back from CGC this summer across 3 submissions (economy and modern). A number of slabs had scuffing/spotting, and I sent them back in as Mechanical Errors. Out of the 52 books, I sent 23 back and spotting was the predominant slab issue with most of these 23. CGC requests that the ME order be placed within 2 weeks of receiving the books back.
  2. Submitters place a FMV for each book in an order. Wouldn't this be the value?
  3. @Ryan., questions were/are being answered today in the Ask CGC forum. I suspect this means CGC is open.
  4. FedEx indicated that they delivered my package to CGC on Oct 26. In the CGC "Confirm Package Delivery" function, my tracking number does not show as being scanned in by CGC. HOWEVER, today CGC did receive my package, and the submission shows up under "My Submissions" (and I received a submission confirmation...).
  5. My order/shipment still has not been scanned in by CGC (tracking # does not show as scanned in the "Confirm Package Delivery" function). However, it WAS received with status of SFG today.
  6. There's another thread regarding this (actually some discussion in more than one...). In the brief time the "Confirm Package Delivery" functionality has existed on the My Submissions page, my submission tracking numbers have consistently showed up within 5 business days. I currently have a submission delivered to CGC on 10/26 that hasn't registered yet.
  7. I had an issue submitting an order that sounds similar to yours a couple of months ago. A couple of suggestions: 1. The functionality WILL NOT take a 10 digit zip code for the return shipping address; the zip code must be 9 chars or less. It may allow you to submit this as the return shipping address, but it gets hung up when you attempt to submit the payment. 2. Once the functionality fails, it may write things to the browser memory that keep the functionality failing. You may eventually need to clear your browser cache to clear this memory, but this would log you out of other websites and remove settings currently saved within the browser for other websites. An alternative would be to try a different browser to submit your CGC order.
  8. @CGC Mike, how many business days should it take for a package recently delivered to CGC to show up under the Confirm Package Delivery function?
  9. I sent an ME order that was delivered to CGC on Wed Oct 26th. It still has not been scanned in by CGC, let alone received. I sent them an e-mail inquiring about this today. But it sounds like your experience is similar to mine.
  10. @seanlinc, you didn't mention which tier your books are in, but since the books were at CCS since Oct, I'll guess they are either Modern or Economy. Usually, books that have been processed by CCS will move through the grading process pretty quickly. I had 2 Modern CCS/CGC submissions that spent 2 days in GEI in July before moving to G/QC. I had an Economy CCS/CGC submission that spent 20 business days in GEI in Jul/Aug that I had to contact customer service to prod along.
  11. Speaking of tape... Below are 3 images of an Earthway spreader delivered to me in April 2021 by FedEx. Surprisingly, when I opened the "box" the spreader was broken!! Earthway shipped me another spreader, and I used the 2nd shipping box to return the pieces of the 1st spreader. I took the pictures for Earthway's benefit, but they never asked to see them.
  12. May I ask how you were able to capture the scuffing so well? I've struggled to capture spots/scuffs, newton rings...
  13. I have limited experience with the ME process, having only submitted 2 (so far). I shipped the 1st to CGC in mid-Aug (delivered to CGC 8/15). 8 books, I detailed the major flaws in creating the order. I received no pushback from CGC during the time my books were reholdered. The books were delivered back to me UPS next day. Unfortunately I'll be sending 4 back... My 2nd ME submission of 15 books arrived at CGC 9/9. They're SFG. Again, no pushback so far.
  14. On the X-Men 100 slab, the spots are within the blue shading on the back next to the words "NEW", "Models.", and "together!". The original is soiled in the white margin, but not in the area of the spots. The spotting is a bit hard to capture in a picture because it's kind of 3 dimensional. I sent most of the 8 books in this ME submission back originally because of Newton Rings. Only 2 of the 8 slabs shipped back to me have significant Newton Rings. I'm not sure if I would send them back for the Newton Rings, but both also have the spotting.
  15. 2 examples. 1st is from DC Comics 26 (Front) and the 2nd is from X-Men 100 (Back). I'm including the original images from when I scanned the items before submitting. It's a bit subtle, and I was having difficulty capturing the spotting taking an image of the entire front/back so I ended up focusing on small areas. DC Comics 26 Front Original DC Comics Presents 26 Front, spots underlined in red (Note they're under the Newton Ring... [cough]) X-Men 100 Back Original (it was a bit dirty, but not where the scratches are) X-Men 100 Back, spots underlined in red Hopefully this was helpful.
  16. I recently received ME submission 4116285 (8 Modern books) back from CGC. Upon inspecting the books, I found that 4 had noticeable spots on the inside of the slabs. What I find frustrating about this spotting is if the slab were inspected prior to encapsulation and the spots were spotted , it appears they could be easily wiped off. I attempted to search this discussion for this issue and haven't seen it raised, so @CGC Mike I wanted to bring this to CGC's attention. Thanks,
  17. I'm copying and pasting from the "Current Turnaround" thread from around Aug 17th... So my last CSS/CGC submission is in route to me, and I should receive by Friday the 19th. As of the morning of Aug 11, the Economy submission was still GEI, so I sent a note to customer service. Within a couple of hours, the submission moved to G/QC. Later on the 11th, they moved to shipped. Submissions all delivered to CGC Jul 26, 2021. All Slow Track. Economy 22 books Received at CCS Jul 27, 2021 Charged for CCS May 9, 2022 SFG Jul 12, 2022 GEI Jul 14, 2022 G/QC Aug 11, 2022 Shipping Aug 11, 2022 (with Aug 12th date)
  18. I had an economy shipment stuck in GEI a few weeks ago. After 4 weeks, (20 business days) I sent an inquiry into CGC customer service. The books moved! They were wheeled thru QC on the way to shipping (ie they finished GEI, passed thru G/QC, then Shipping statuses all in one day). I'm getting ready to send 15 out of 22 back for mechanical errors. My advice regarding contacting CGC...flip a coin.
  19. Congrats! You'll only get an email when your books ship. This email will contain a pdf with tracking info. Also, the status in the dashboard will show as a hyperlink "Shipped" that will take you to the carrier website with the tracking number.
  20. Since these are FT AND went through CCS, I'd call as soon as I could. If you email, it may be 2+ days before your message gets read. They may finish your other 3 books by then.
  21. I suggest e-mailing or calling. In the "Where in the World was the QC" thread, someone recently made a post about do-it-yourself grading kits. I think we're experiencing do-it-yourself customer service.
