  1. 2023-06-06 Shipped w Jun 7 date. So this submission spent around 24 hours in QC, which is considerably more than most recent submissions. We'll see what this means.
  2. I feel your pain! I've sent several books back over the last year as MEs because of Newton Rings. I have a 15 book ME submission with several NR books that I was fortunate to get to CGC before they announced their new policy, and CGC has apparently reslabbed these books and will be shipping them back to me probably today or tomorrow. There are videos on YouTube that supposedly show ways to remedy Newton Rings. I'll be studying up on these in the next few days. If anyone has used one of these techniques to fix Newton Rings, they would be welcome to chime in...
  3. I had checked several times today, and my 15 book ME was showing as SFG. Just checked, and it was G/QC. 15 Book Mechanical Error Submission 2023-05-11 Delivered to CGC 2023-05-17 CGC Received/SFG ?? GEI 2023-06-05 G/QC
  4. Actually @Stefan_W, I think you captured the scuffing quite well. The new policy states that Newton Rings are no longer an allowed Mechanical Error, and these are clearly not Newton Rings. So CGC should accept this as an ME. I'd try to take pictures of the other slab similar to this one. If you send them off as an ME, and they come back with the spots in exactly the same places, you may be able to get CGC Mike to intervene. But you should be prepared to prove that the spots are in the same places before and after. Good Luck!
  5. This is the alleged seller's feedback page from ebay: https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile/you_can_never_have_too_much_awesome?filter=feedback_page%3ARECEIVED_AS_SELLER I suspect some/most of the merchandise shipped and received was stolen...
  6. The saving grace here is that some slabs will be "lucky" enough to have the scuffing/residue and newton rings. They can no longer be submitted for a ME for the newton rings. But they CAN BE SUBMITTED for a ME for the scuffing/residue. Right now, that is....
  7. I've had several slabs in the past few months that have had this scuffing/residue AND Newton Rings in the same areas of the slab. They actually seem to play well together.
  8. My latest ME order has been received and is SFG. I included my last 2 also for reference: 14 Book Mechanical Error Submission 2023-03-16 Delivered to CGC 2023-03-17 CGC Received/SFG 2023-04-25 GEI ?? 9. @Knighner, I would think a crack in the case would qualify for a Mechanical Error order, but the size of the cracks are relevant. Regarding the "inbound address" issue, please see: Good Luck!
  10. Another 1 Week TAT for a ME submission. The 14 book submission is going to be delivered just now... 14 Book Mechanical Error Submission 2023-03-16 Delivered to CGC 2023-03-17 CGC Received/SFG 2023-04-25 GEI ?? 11. A Hat Trick! Just in time for the NHL playoffs. My 14 book ME was scheduled to arrive today. I got up this morning, and it was out for delivery! But it seems there was an "Operational Delay" this afternoon 1 1/2 hours after my expected delivery window. So, I guess, maybe, they'll come tomorrow...? @LudaToke, if it's any consolation, I'm pretty sure my slabs with 2 month TAT will have their share of issues.
  12. You know @Gaard, I was contemplating this. With all of the slab issues that slip through the QC process (scuffs in the slabs, NEWTON RINGS, scratches, debris in the slabs, mislabeled slabs, et cetera), think of the issues they must be catching!! We've never had a slab with a dead mouse, or a live roach! We've never had a slab with a cigarette butt, or a doobie! No libstick tubes or condoms! No beer cans or underwear! There have been no reports of a slab with a golf club protruding, or deer antlers!! These are things that CGC Quality Control must be catching!! There's no telling what CGC QC caught in the 14 seconds my 14 slabs were in QC today...
  13. On cue... I checked my submissions status today around 11am-12pm (EDT) and saw the 14-book submission was GEI. I checked around 2:30pm and saw it was shipped with a label created time of 2:03pm. I never saw this submission with a G/QC status. 14 Book Mechanical Error Submission 2023-03-16 Delivered to CGC 2023-03-17 CGC Received/SFG 2023-04-25 GEI ?? 14. Over the last 8 months, I've had to send back 1/3 to 1/2 of most of the submissions shipped back to me, including MEs. 1 week TAT, WOW! My ME TATs have typically been around a month with the most recent one taking 2 months.
  15. Hi @Gaard, yes, I am having to send back some slabs from every submission I'm making (including MEs), and I've had to do this since Summer '22. No, I don't have the patience of a saint, and my frustration level IS THRU the roof!! But I'm slabbing books to keep in my collection, and I want slabs that are not defective. So I resubmit ... and resubmit... and resubmit... Cheers,
  16. So my 3 book reholder and 6 book ME submissions shipped out, and I received both. I'm sending 6 back as MEs, and have another 14 book ME submission at CGC. 19. My 3 book reholder arrived this morning. FedEx just left the package on my porch. They did not ring my doorbell or knock and apparently just forged my signature. I called FedEx and registered a complaint. The package was about a 9.6. Scanning the 3 slabs, they look great except they all have newton rings in the centers of the front and back covers. I'll take a couple of days to mull over whether I want to send them in as MEs, or if I'll just plan on looking at them in dark rooms.
  20. Thanks @JollyComics. Anything is possible... Today both MEs are still SFG. The Reholder did ship yesterday, and I should receive tomorrow.
  21. I have a reholder that changed status to Shipped on Friday but with date 4/10/23. It was received at CGC on 1/23, and according to my business day calculator this puts it at about 55 days. The ReHolder High Value is also currently listed at 25 days. I suspect this is correct, and the wrong number of days was entered for regular ReHolders.
  22. My reholder received by CGC on 1/23 went GEI today.
  23. Unfortunately this is correct. Some people have more of a tolerance for these scuff marks than others. As I was led to believe I was buying a "state-of-the-art" archival comic holder that offered "crystal-clear plastic’s superior optics" I have a somewhat low tolerance for them. I inspect my submissions pretty thoroughly upon receipt and prefer to resolve holder issues as quickly as possible, particularly since CGC will only do so as a ME for 14 days after receipt of a submission. You might try rubbing the spots with a microfiber cloth. If the scuffs don't change and you don't seem to feel anything on the outside of the slab, it's a pretty good indication the scuffs are on the inside of the slab.
