How do you link your eBay postings to GPA?
gpanalysis replied to Xenosmilus's topic in Comics General
Sure - general rule: if you add the cert number in your listing title, regardless of the format, and there's no ambiguity between your image and cert details, it will be included. -

Yep, the item specifics don't show up in their search API, so for any long term listings (not a regular ending within 10 days listing) we tend to only include those with the cert in the title. Although there are plenty of exceptions and scenarios where we do/don't. -

The last time we saw the Mile High II copy sell was in June 2014 for $18,750 - this was double the average 9.8 sale price around the same time. So, fast forward to today's market, maybe it has something to do with the CVA label, and maybe the market has once again paid a premium for the Mile High II copy. At June 2014 MHII 9.8 sells for $18,750 At June 2014 last few month's 9.8s averaged around $9,830 - so around a 1.9 multiplier ----- At Jan 2019 MHII 9.8 price sells for $59,000 At Jan 2019 last few month's 9.8s averaged around $33,870 - so around a 1.7+ multiplier. I think it's all quite conceivable that this price reflects the MHII label as much as a CVA label. Both arguments could be made. Either way, $59,000 for a Bronze Age Comic... -

Unfortunately it doesn't demonstrate this at all. Taking all the prices across all books would, and you might be surprised at what you find, that, as with all venues with enough volume, the ups and downs don't give you an overall indication of how that venue performs. When you do take into consideration ALL data points (by averaging out each against the rest of the market) you find there is little to no difference. Otherwise the implication is one venue consistently outperforms all other venues on most books at all times. Which is frankly untrue. -

I struggle to see how GPA is out of touch here? Here are the last 5 sales we have recorded: Dec-23 2018 - $12,230 ow-w Sep-28 2018 - $12,979 ow-w Jun-24 2018 - $12,000 cr-ow Mar-29 2018 - $14,200 w Jan-04 2018 - $10,500 ow-w This grade doesn't come up often. I think the price is within the trend (and certainly matches the March white pager), but in general the huge growth we saw in 2014-2016 has been a little less dramatic from 2017 onwards. One price point in one auction doesn't always tell the full story. -

well I "guessed" by checking what we had as the most traded book in GPA - so I kinda cheated -
Journey Into Mystery 83 CGC 5.0 Switched label??
gpanalysis replied to James J Johnson's topic in Comics General
The only other one that popped up was the Green Lantern 76 he sold with just the label (cert 1093880017). Unfortunately the images for the previous sales are long gone (sold through eBay in 2012 and 2014). I'm trying to see if I can find them. -

Sorry guys. incredibly busy here, working on our new site, so not much time to browse the boards. The short answer: we don't know. The eBay API reports the sale price which we use and it reflects any best offers. However whether the mechanism you describe above ends up showing a slightly different price, I can't say, we're not informed if someone went through that method. Sorry I don't have any more info than that. Maybe if someone has a specific example they can send us through the details (just contact us through our website) and we can see what's showing up in API and what the seller knows happened.

If you can send us some examples through our online contact form we can take a further look

To be fair, we peaked at "useless pricing tool" at least 10 years ago, after which point people just refer to it as plain "useless". No need to use the superfluous word "increasingly" in front of it. -

Watch this space a responsive redesign has been in the works for more than 6 months now and soon to be released. -
The original was sold at a best offer of $2K. As has been pointed out, the book has been relisted.

Your most underwhelming SA key/grail purchase?
gpanalysis replied to Knightsofold's topic in Silver Age Comic Books
The $2400 isn't the highest sale, it's the most recent (last) sale - if you expand out the 9.6 grade you'll see the $5019 sale in the 2015 results -
Yes, this certainly does make a difference (as would the oddness of not identifying this as best as possible in the title)
