  1. That is a great cover. OK to stop the DC Love Fest also - here's a nice group of POST-CODE (a la Silver-Age) Atlas books. White Mountain----
  2. I'm seriously impressed. You have more 9.6's then me also (I have 11). And you did it the hard way, one book at a time. I wouldn't mind getting a few Boston's myself as they are pretty sweet also.
  3. What pedigrees are represented in your Strange Tales run?
  4. Now how many White Mountain Pre-Hero Marvel's do you have?
  5. It's not a Mile High Pedigree. There are two pedigrees that have Mile High in them. One Edgar Chruch / Mile High which is the premiere GA pedigree. Mile High II which was a warehouse find of SA/BA books and is considered a very weak pedigree (even though if all the books were put back together it would be the largest by far). True PEDIGREES will have the name on the RIGHT SIDE of the LABEL.
  6. Yeah, The Dallas Stephen Collection is NOT a PEDIGREE. It is a collection of books and in general, really adds no value to the book. The difference between a pedigree and collection is that the pedigree came from one source (being the original owner or file copy of the publisher or even a warehouse find). What makes them special (to most collectors) is the uniformity in the preservation of the books. Collections are just like what you and I have, and therefore don't share the uniformity in preservation. Yes, they might be in high grade, but that's because they were BOUGHT in High Grade, just like you just did. Of course THAT'S a nice book so
  7. I've heard that several times. SInce I believe my newest Northland is 1968, that's probably why I haven't seen the "less desireable" copies yet. BTW: Nice pickup on the GL #16. Went for a bargain price compared to other sales. Didn't want to jack the price up (since my guess was you would outbid me anyway).
  8. This is actually one of my favorite books in my collection. The cover colors and gloss just jump out at you.
  9. The site keeps getting better and better. And I keep buying more and more.
  10. Very cool book and great price. I'll see what 10 cent issues I have when I get home. I could bore you with about 20 HG Atlas books, but I think I have a few DC's (since that seems to be the real topic of this thread).
  11. Some more beauties!!!! I definitely agree that seeing these in all their glory (i.e. not in plastic) is a whole different experience. I have several White Mountains and Circle 8's that I bought pre-CGC and seeing the cover gloss 3-D look is amazing. That's also why I do love PEDIGREE BOOKS. Usually, they have LIKE NEW GLOSS and that's the extra kick that makes them worth the premium to me.
  12. I think Northland's might be my favorite (at least what is available). A fairly recent pick-up...........
  13. Cool!!!! Obviously, you like your books raw which is great. And since these beauties will probably not leave your possession again, probably no reason to slab them.
  14. Beautiful books!!!!! Are you planning on getting them CGC'd?
  15. Man, those are nice copies. Are they from a pedigree collection "with the pen arrival date"?
  16. Great Book. The more I think about it, the better deal I think you got. That's such a tough book in high grade and you got an uber-high grade and a pedigree. Good Work!!!!
  17. Nice book. What was his grade (it looks like it's got a shot for NM).
  18. Hopefully, I will win one or more new pedigrees (i.e. books from pedigrees I don't already own) in next weeks Heritage Auction.
  19. One day this classic battle issue will be held in as high regards as JIM #112 (Hulk vs Thor). Or Not.
  20. I'll try to post a few tonight (but they are all from a major consignment site, so they are already available for viewing).
