  1. I believe this is a complete listing. Note, ONLY those PEDIGREES, WAREHOUSE FINDS, FILE COPIES that sho up on a CGC Label in the PEDIGREE SPOT are listed. Therefore, DALLAS STEPHENS and NIC CAGE are NOT Listed as they are ONLY COLLECTIONS. 2. I hadn't noticed that but I believe you. I will say that the PC X-MEN #14 has dripping, like new gloss (even through the slab).
  3. I believe there is a small tear behind the bottom staple (I've seen it in person). It's a beautiful book and I would have bought it but amazingly enough a few of the Pacific Coast books have Printing Errors (see the yellow circle below X-MEN). While the owner took great lengths to not buy mis-cut books, he apparently didn't look at the printing registration as much. Here's my newest pedigree book.
  4. There are several reasons but the main one is: Whatever definition they determine NOW, would invariablyEXCLUDE some that are already recognized, or INCLUDE some that are not recognized by CGC. Basically, I'm saying that I would rather have CGC give out more PEDIGREE DESIGNATIONS, and let the Market decide if a premium (or any worth) should be given to those books from that collection. While it might seem that they are diluting what a "pedigree" is, it's a case where more information is GOOD.
  5. I think many of the early covers are great and actually feel that from a pure cover perspective they got worse once the title went Hulk and Subby. Many of the covers start to look the same in my opinion.
  6. I disagree for this reason: LET THE MARKET DECIDE. CGC has provided information on the label, it's up to the collector to determine what to do with this information. I also understand why CGC only gives MHII designation to Chuck, since there are probably thousands of MHII certificates floating around, and there are no distinguishing marks on the books. Do I like that, NO, but I understand it.
  7. Fair enough on the grade. But like you said, neither you nor Motor City noticed the centerfold was detached. Of course, CGC finds things wrong with books that most collectors / dealers don't see, which is why CGC is in business.
  8. The Bethlehem collection was huge. It includes a ton of 50's books and in many cases they are the highest certified (so far). The main problem is that a lot of the books (mostly the one's from the 50's) have dust shadows on the back cover (and sometimes pretty heavy). Also, many of the Silver-Age superhero books (and DC late 50's-early 60's Sci-Fi titles) have date stamps on the front cover, so that's a negative for some collectors.
  9. Obviously, there would be exceptions. Plus it's possible a slight amount of damage occured AFTER Motor City sold the book. Why is it Qualified?
  10. Very accurate. Doug Schmell bought a lot of the Northlands from Motor City and says the CGC grades have common back as good or better in most cases.
  11. Very, very nice books. You're putting together a heck of a pedigree collection.
  12. It's a very solid copy. It has the usual very light wear at the bottom of the left hand front cover (where it's black) that seems to be on almost all copies. Also, every copy I have seen has a tiny, tiny chip out of the top right side (or some times on the back cover). Very hard to see because the covers white and the pages hide it. I was definitely happy with the book.
  13. And this one was delivered by mail today.
  14. Got this today hand delivered by Doug (from Pedigree Comics)
  15. Good Question: I discussed this with Doug Schmell and it seems that FF #7 (Oct 1962) is the first PC that wasn't bought second hand. There is a PC of TTA #27 and Hulk #1, but the grades are much lower then the usual PC books, so either they were bought second hand or (and this is my theory), the owner used them like comic books should be used (i.e. read them). Obviously, by FF #7, they are unread (as there is almost no way there could be a lot of 9.8's and still be read, even carefully).
  16. I've had PC copies that had a little ink also. And some of the later 60's issues are a touch yellow. Every pedigree during certain periods has flaws from a manufacturing/distributing or aging, point of view. The beauty of PC copies (and it seems like Northlands also), is that without seeing the book, I can be pretty sure it's not dramatically miscut.
  17. That's a book I will buy to complete my run, but I'm sure not buying it for the cover or villain.
  18. Really nice Iron-Man with perfect centering.
  19. I agree. But unfortunately they are not as easy to find as most of the other pedigrees. And one of the problems in my opinion with this pedigree, is that most of the ones sold on the market, are NOT SUPER examples. I've own 4 Daredevils (sold all but one) and the one that was a 9.4 (the others were 9.2's), looked pretty bad. And while I would have loved to own the TTA #44 CGC 9.4 that was offer several times, it had discoloration at the top right corner. It's my guess that most of the good Curator runs are locked up in a few collectors vaults, and are not available.
  20. Looks much nicer then a 7.5 (good eye appeal). Definitely one of my favorite covers between #70-89. I love the split covers #59-69, and lots of the covers from #90-101, but most of the ones from #70-89 don't grab my attention.
  21. Probably the best thread I have started. Now, I just have to buy some more pedigree books. Haven't bought any in the past month as I have been buying big dollar, non pedigree books.
  22. Almost all of these have been bought in the past six months. I just picked up the #41 CGC 9.4 this week from Doug (so that's the newest issue). Actually it's issue number #95 that I need. There is one on ComicLink and one Meto, but yes, there is one in Heritage's auction. There's nothing special about that issue, so I have no worries that I'll get a copy in the next few months. If it was the last issue I needed I would already have a copy, but there are a few earlier issues I need and getting a nice #27 in CGC 8.0 might be several years in the process. I would like to finish off #35-101 this year.
  23. Captain Marvel covers are COOOOOOLLLLLL. Where did you get these since they are still raw?
  24. Actually, I bought drummy's #46 in CGC 8.5 about a month ago on eBay, and WAC just sold a #46 CGC 9.0 on eBay last week. #52 is a very cool book (I've got the White Mountain copy) and clearly would be one of the last TTA's I would sell (not that I'm selling any at this time).
  25. What's the deal with "62" being written on a "63" comic book? That's what's interesting. He forgot what year it was. And definitely a nice CGC 8.0. Yes, it has some Marvel tears but I've seen 9.0's with worse.
