  1. We're talking books like HFH 1, ToD 1, MP 1, etc, right? Those books are too late (actually the HFH 1 could conceivably have one). The NDS inserts only ran from about April 1971 and stopped completely in early 1973. So you'd be looking for an ASM 100 or an IM 55 for example. I think you may be mixed up: Marvel Premiere 1 - April, 1972 Tomb of Dracula 1 - April, 1972 Hero for Hire 1 - June, 1972 Others would include Marvel Spotlight 2 (February, 1972), Marvel Spotlight 5 (August, 1972), Marvel Feature 1 (December, 1971), Defenders 1 (August, 1972), ASM 101 (October, 1971), FF 112 (July, 1971), Amazing Adventures 11 (March, 1972), and others. You're right the HFH 1 I caught, I don't know why but I mis-read the tomb of Dracula as "10" and not a 1 and then glossed right over the "MP 1". Must have been some kind of weird comic book tourette's like response. I know there's a boardie with a raw marvel spotlight 5 (I think Porcupine) with one, and I have never seen one in a MP 1. With the recent increased interest in that book I wouldn't mind having one in a 9.0+ if I could find one out there. -J. I sold this Marvel Spotlight #5 a few years back (to a board member I believe) that had the National Diamond Sales insert: j
  2. The Good News: I FINALLY found an X-Men #297 Gold Pressman variant in the wild. The Bad News: It's a beater (even the cover is detached).
  3. Contact eBay. Since you can clearly see the penciled date on the front cover in the listing I'm sure they'll remove the negative. You can't help it if the buyer is a .
  4. That's interesting because I have a double-cover Mad from the same time period (issue #184). I'll take a pic next time I am sorting through the issues. It's really a shame your copy of that double-cover Mad isn't in better condition, huh? I just noticed that there's a MAD #200 double cover on eBay as well. Sounds like 1976 to 1978 is a prime time period to look for double cover MAD magazines.

It's really a shame your copy of that double-cover Mad isn't in better condition, huh? I was actually surprised how nice it was when I received it. The seller graded it a 6.0 but it's much better than that. I'm thinking 9.2-9.4 with a press. He must have been grading it on the outside cover only.
  6. Surely not..... It says "ended" but not "sold". Doesn't that mean it was either ended early by the seller or that it didn't sell? Sold Thanks. (thumbs u

  8. A couple of recent double cover additions: UFO Flying Saucers #9 And my 1st ever double cover magazine: MAD #192 And 2 more double cover comics on their way from eBay sellers. I'll post pics when I receive them.
  9. I have 30+ double cover comic books but this is my 1st double cover magazine.
  10. I still have 1,681 PMs dating back to 2008 and it ain't broke yet!
  11. And 8717 positive feedback too. Sounds like a long-time seller who just decided to screw a bunch of people at the end and take the money and run.
  12. To you no, but for me I was expecting it. I'm not gonna fight against another transaction you completed with someone else after the fact to get that comic back. It's not worth it. I would rather not send my business your way. I feel the same way brother. Maybe you can explain to all of us why he's your "brother" in here yet at the same time you choose to call him a "ball-less " on Facebook.
  13. X-Men #256 might get a small bump, but I think New Mutants Annual #2 and Captain Britain #8 will be the big winners here. What do you guys think about Captain Britain #9 and #10? I believe this is the 2nd and 3rd appearance of Betsy Braddock? I have CGC copies of both books.
  14. Thanks for the kind words sir.
  15. They're complete . If there's one thing the internet has done, it has exposed the true insufficiently_thoughtful_persons to the world. No longer are they just a pain in the arse to their city. They are now international d-bags.
  16. I started a Facebook group related to comics for the OKC area about 4 months ago. Had a guy join and said he was looking for Marvel mini-series and short runs. Myself and others replied to him numerous times with either no response or no response for days. I booted his out of the group because the jerk just wouldn't respond. People like that REALLY me off.
  17. Our local Vintage Stock stores were having a BOGO free sale over the weekend. I'd already dug through the dollar boxes at my usual Vintage Stock store thoroughly so I paid a visit to the one in Edmond. Found this puppy (35 cent price variant) in one of their dollar boxes: And a newsstand copy to boot. Since it was a BOGO weekend, I paid a whopping 50 cents for it. Here are some of the other books I picked up this weekend. All for 50 cents each:
  18. Nice! Looking for comics is like treasure hunting - you never know what you'll find or where you're going to find them. You just have to dig.
  19. And a newsstand one! That's tremendous. There are FIVE different versions of Amethyst #1 and #2. FIVE! Regular DM. Regular Newsstand 75 Cent Canadian 35 Cent DM 35 Cent Newsstand How crazy is that? And for the record, I've been looking for them since the early 90's, looking through old OPG Updates. Also for the record, I've never owned a single one. I had also found an Amethyst #1 35 cent price variant at a different Vintage Stock store a few years ago (paid $1 for it I think). I submitted it to CGC and it came back 9.6. I sold it to a boardie about 2 years ago for around $100. I regret selling it because they're now going for a heck of a lot more than that. I also picked up an Amethyst #1 75 cent Canadian price variant on eBay last year (still have that one). Believe that was from a board member too.
