  1. I really, REALLY dislike having to deal with smartass brats whose word isn't worth the pixels on the screen, but I will respect the mores of the board and not put him on the probation list if I cannot do it without actually selling him the book. I will not, however, sell the book to him. He can find it elsewhere. I find it extremely distasteful that this "gentleman" can avoid the probation list at the 11th hour, but if those are the rules, I will respect them. This guy clearly has no respect for this board, basic manners, or even his own word. Remember when a man's word was as good as gold? I don't, because I was born in the '70s. I've heard that it was really cool, though. I was born in the '50s (1957) and it was really cool. (thumbs u I often talk about how rare honesty and common decency are nowadays. It's automatic for me to hold open a door for anybody (not just women) and I've heard people say they don't see that much any more. If I'm at a grocery store and I have 12 items and somebody behind me has 2 I let them go first. It's really sad that common courtesy, common decency and just plain old honesty are no longer that common.
  2. He flaked out on me (never responded to PMs) on an Infinity Gauntlet set that I resold. I didn't nominate him to the PL because I didn't want to bother waiting, but he's obviously a problem. HIlariously - he posted in another one of my sales threads saying he wanted to buy some Gen13s from me - but of course, didn't have the money. Unfortunately, I didn't recall his name until long after - and I missed a prime opportunity to say something. Guys like this are why I have a three-day payment rule. Flake.
  3. Not only did I pick up that sweet ASM #129 double cover in a recent purchase of an ASM long box, but I also noticed yesterday that an ASM #177 and #178 (both only in about 5.0 condition) both had the Marvel Pizzazz insert in them. This is the first 2 I've ever found. So are these really hard to find? A quick eBay search only shows 3 comics (one ASM, one FF, one Star Wars) with the Marvel Pizzazz insert. Any info provided would be great. Thanks!
  4. Me too. I bought a bunch (and I mean a BUNCH, like multiples) of raw Dave Stevens books off of a fellow boardie so the only ones I'm really looking for now are upgrades to or additions to my current registry set.
  5. 1. Has Zombizzy read your PM asking for the address? 2. Zombizzy hasnt posted on the boards since 9:19am on 7/8, so its possible he hasnt been on to see your PM, but you're the only one who can confirm that. 3. Did Zombizzy already issue you your refund, or is he waiting until books are received (either way is fine, just curious which way he addressed this)? He contacted me at 9:20am on 7-8-13 asking if a certain refund amount was acceptable. I wrote him back at 9:33am on 7-8-13 asking for the address to ship the books back. Have not heard from him since. I have not received a refund as of this post. Does it show in your PM to him that he read your message back? Maybe he hasnt been on the boards since your response (so he would neither have your confirmation on refund amount nor see your request for his address). Now with a matter outstanding like this he should make a point to check back in on the boards, but who knows maybe something disastrous happened in RL. Until I saw that you stressed "did he read my msg" and I went back to check to see if there was a read/unread verification somewhere in the msg, I did not know that existed. Zombizzy has not seen the message I have sent to him yet. (thumbs u it's a handy feature especially for these type of situations. I get all my PMs emailed to me, so I can read them without the sender knowing I've seen it. You're supposed to be speedy not sneaky.
  6. Just obtained this one through the efforts of my friends Sharon and Chandler at Desert Wind Comics....
  7. This is where busting Rupp's chops got misinterpreted, and one time where Rupp didn't do it. The three of us (Rupp, you, me) have screwed around in here before, to the point you posted that homosexual dancers video that ended up being deleted by a mod. So I was messing with Rupp's post not to call you a POS, but to kid him. There isn't even a reason the three of us wouldn't get along. Sorry for the joke gone bad. Yeah, Nick's just too nice of a guy to say something like that seriously. He and I joke around all the time about different stuff in here. He's cool in my book. (thumbs u
  8. sorry for getting mad at a situation where someone tried to rip me off. Man, you never quit do you? Just got to have the last word on everything and there's some kind of spite towards someone in practically every post you've made in here. I think you've hung yourself quite well in the process of hanging Zombizzy out to dry. Mental note to have nothing to do with either one of you.
  9. I am going to put you on the PL on general principle.
  10. The PL is not a "punishment" where people can "leave him on" so he can "learn his lesson." Once the offender makes it right, no matter what type of bad actor they have been, they are off. And HOS is reserved for the worst of the worst. Not disputes over partial vs. full refunds. FACEPALM
  11. The poll is about putting zombizzy in the HoS, which is unrelated to taking him off the PL. To come off the PL, the people who nominated him for the list in the first place have to make the request, and at this point they've done so. So, off he comes, no? You're right Speedy. My bad.
  12. For the time that you have made me wait to get this resolved I will take a full refund if you let me keep the books the way you did with your previous issue. I won't risk sending them back and going through being ignored waiting for a refund. It's not worth that hassle. Amazing that people on the boards still want you to sell..having two major issues selling in the past few months should raise red flags for everyone You shouldn't expect to keep the books if he gives you a full refund. Do the honorable thing and send them back (but if and only if he gives you the full refund). And we don't all "want to see him sell". If he makes things right with you he should have the opportunity to hang himself again. I myself wouldn't dream of buying from this guy.
  13. I have to agree with the last 3 posters. The Probation List is a temporary thing but only if there is an ammicable conclusion (which in this case there could be). The buyer is pissed (and I completely understand why) but I don't think it's HOS worthy. That's normally for repeat offenders or for other major screwings. The seller should offer a full refund and the buyer should send the books back.
  14. Words of a truly wise man Or "I traded some other books for this one." I am not alone. I don't have that problem. I'm channeling my conversations way back when I was married to Matilda the Hun.
  15. Been adding a bunch of new stuff to my eBay store and continuing to add even more on a daily basis. Shark's eBay Store
  16. Thanks Rich. I've added this guy to my eBay blocked bidders list which is now up to 38 people! No wonder my eBay sales have sucked this year. A lot of people can't buy my stuff.
  17. Given the titles you bought, not surprised you were hesitant to go to that neighbourhood. Nice scores, though. All I ever find at the Flea Markets here are bent frisbees and bedazzled jeans. It's not that the place was in a bad neighborhood. It's just that there was no effort at all previously to keep the place reasonably organized. They've now repainted the front of the store, added concrete in front where it used to be gravel and the inside of the store is much cleaner and much more organized than it used to be. It was hard to find squat in there before.
  18. Started out this morning going to a local garage sale where I picked up this for a buck: Transformers #1 (2009 Hasbro reprint). Anybody know anything about this? Any value to it? Left there and went to two local flea markets and antique shows. Found nothing at the flea market but then found this bad boy at the antique show for a VERY good price: I also took some pics of various toys at the antique show. I've been watching the Toy Hunter series on TV lately and am getting interested in possibly branching out to more toys. Have to learn more about them first. Anybody know much about the Star War stuff posted here? Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots Hulk figure (Mego Hulk?) Star Wars Toys I still wasn't done. Stopped at a place that I thought I would never go to again. Place used to be a dump but it's a lot better now. Decided to stop in and picked up a few classic comics: Wyatt Earp #3 (Atlas, 1956) Horny Biker Sluts #1 in VF/NM Verotika #3 NM (Frank Frazetta cover) Wendy Whitebread, Undercover Slut #1 NM+ Classics for sure!
  19. By the word balloon alone on the front cover, it seems Spidey is fighting his own ignorance in this issue. By the way, a lot of people (and I'm not referring to you Paper Airplane) seem to think that when you're ignorant that means you're stupid. That's not the case at all. Ignorant means that you're either unaware of or just don't know about a particular subject. Stupid infers that you're incapable of learning about that subject. Two totally different meanings. are you calling me stupid?

  21. It reaaly depends on the buyer. Some collectors are anal as hell about no writing, no store stamps, etcetera. Other buyers could care less about stuff like that and think it adds something to the book. As you already stated, CGC took that into consideration when grading it. So if YOU like the book and can afford it then by all means buy it.
