  1. Just glad to help a fellow ASMer... even if we are crazy to some here!
  2. Am I watching? Who do you think was PMing him as soon as it was known he bought the collection?
  3. Oh come on now... it's nothing personal- it's the 'Myth of Mac Man' Dirty low grades get me all hot and bothered
  4. You guys realize we have TWO copies of Amazing Spider-Man #1 out there for sale on the boards?!? How nuts is that?
  5. Cap, how bitter and jaded for one so young! I'd be totally fine with a resto'd SA comic. Any day. Missing pages aren't even a major bother PROVIDING they do not affect storyline. If it does, I won't even consider it. That said, I wouldn't have been surprised to see it hit the $400 range, but $625 definitely seems a bit much. BUT coverless copies seem to be going for between $200-$500 so ...
  6. It's just bad form. These guys aren't on payroll doing this, and if they get maybe $10 or so per sig... well, considering admission cost and nevermind waiting in line... seems to me like this person owes you a big apology. If you don't hear from them, sounds to me like this person is no longer interested in keeping his comics. eBay?
  7. Wow... when Jon and Pirate took did me the FAVOR of getting books signed for me, I paid them AHEAD of time of hooking me up. If any of you SS fellas ever accept books from this member again, I'd suggest he pay upfront from now. And I definitely think this warrants a probationary mark. This person did not make good on a transaction and that's what we have this for. And now that I'm off my high horse... time for a hot cocoa!
  8. Rahigh, you're too blueblood for my dirty low grade collecting habits! That's a beautiful looking #2 you have there. Very ambitious to go after W/P in those older issues too. I'll bet that really makes for a challenging hunt.
  9. They will cost you a bit more even if you're shooting for low grades like I do. That said, the hunt and payoff on these is SO much more rewarding. I love filling holes in my run, but when I've been able to nail down an ASM from the first 20 issues.... AH!
  10. Original Owner. You refer to a comic as coming from an OO when the owner was the first person to buy this book off the rack or received via subscription.
  11. Dude... nice spot on that one! I guess I was bothered more by his low rating that I didn't bother really looking at that- not that I'm in a spot right now to buy one at this point in time. Most likely why it sold for below GPA...
  12. See, now this kills me. An ASM #1 currently going for less than $500 and probably around 2.0 (small pics). ASM Auction With a seller rating of (1) though, I wouldn't even think twice of dropping any large amount of cash on a new dealer. John, that'd be cool- shoot me some pics and maybe we just toss it in with the ASM 13. BTW, my LCS had a nice looking copy of 29 for $175 and it looked to be in really nice shape. LMK if you want me to snap some shots for you.
  13. No more than 1.0 tops. Mind you, the date stamp isn't going to be a problem until you get into the ultra high grades. You still have some nice high grades there though... very nice!
  14. It's still a Spidey #1... if thats not cool, I don't know what is.
  15. Look! It's the Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Pedigree ASM#1!!! Show us the back!
  16. SpiderMurphy and Peaky- WELCOME! I think you'll find that this is a great place to learn about the hobby and how to improve your collection.
  17. BIG kudos to inconceivable for 48 mid-to-high grade Silver, Bronze, & Copper Age Amazing Spider-Man books. Books were accurately graded, shipped lightning fast, and packaged securely. Well on my way to finishing my ASM 1-328 run! THANKS DAN!!!
  18. I didn't mean YOU had to give it up... not yet anyhow
  19. You may have the 2nd smallest number, but I'd be surprised to know how many multiples in value your collection is over many of us here
  20. (thumbs u to ArAich for a great looking pile of Bronze Age X-Men! It was good getting to meet a fellow board member and am sure we'll run into each other again! -Forrest
