  1. You know what's terrible though? At the local comic show yesterday I was already lining up my next "project" comics-- ASMs 13 & 15.
  2. Hey! Here are some scans of the three biggies I was able to pick up. Really, really happy to have snagged these for as little as I did... ASM 3 (back cover file is giving me problems). Only cost $87.50 ASM 11. Cost $12.50 ASM 14. Cost $25
  3. Hey glad you liked it! And thanks to you for the quick payment!
  4. Much thanks to Joeypost for a great looking pile of Uncanny X-Men and Amazing Spider-Man comics! Thanks a bunch!
  5. I remember that being up for grabs a month or two back-- nice pick up!!!
  6. A to the following: TheWatcher for sending me his extra Spirit books and opening my eyes to Will Eisner. BronzedJones for the extra copy of DKR 1-- the set is complete and what a great reread! Deamentia for a boxload of books most of which have gone towards filling my BA and CA ASMs. Thanks guys!
  7. Congrat's on lining up on of the big two! Did you go Raw or slabbed? Were you able to pick it up for under guide? We'll look forward to seeing those scans.
  8. Hey now My BA and Copper are all mid-to-high grade comics. It's just those SA ASMs and UXM are slightly expensive in higher grades, so LG is a natural choice And I have a few nice middies for my ASMs and UXMs.... just not many. But I'm glad my collection can make you feel good-- always my goal
  9. Cool, huh? I'm still in a minor state of shock over this one- and it wasn't even a special occasion! And no problem about the pic- only ones I post here are of my collection. And speaking of which, this now puts me more than halfway to my goal of getting 1-100 (53 down, 47 to go!).
  10. OMIGOD!!! If I wasn't already married to my wife, and I would marry her!!! I had a surprise waiting for me at my LCS- the one I'm most often buying book at, and where Aces got his copy of ASM 6. Well, she asked me if I'd like to stop by the store on our way home from church since it's on the way. I always love stopping by there, so heck ya! I should have known something was up since SHE suggested it. I arrive to find I have a package waiting for me there- it's my buy pile...and more. While we were gone, she called ahead to pay for my entire buy pile since she heard they were going to be having a 50% back issue sale while we were on vacation. Included in my buy pile was a book I thought someone else had already purchased- ASM 3!!! It seems she had asked them to set that aside but not to let me know who bought it. Well Aces, NOW we know who bought the ASM 3 from a month ago. So, needless to say, I'll be sharing scans of these later on. But, for $140 she got me copies of the following: ASM 97 (5.0), 90 (5.0), 14 (1.8-2.0), 11 (2.0-1.8), and 3 (1.8-2.0)!!! I hope you'll excuse me while I...
  11. Well, the buying process was easy enough. And I was really happy with being able to buy those two ASMs of mine for so cheap. I was a little put off with $14 for standard shipping for two books, but... considering the price, it's hard to be really unhappy, you know? Since I'm in Florida right now, I can't say how quickly the books actually shipped since they are probably waiting for me in the post office hold box. I'm not too keen on the idea of my comics sitting there for about two weeks, but what can you do? I'm just hoping they pack the books well-- I'll let you guys know how they come out when I get home. But yeah, they had low-grades (which not all places do it seems) and nice prices.
  12. Whaaaaaaa? I love my testicles. I would hate to see them crushed in front of my face.
  13. Ok-- check out was a little disappointing. If I hadn't got the 2.0 #26 (worth around $45) for a mere $7, I'd be pissed. Shipping was $14 and then they tacked on a 3.X % buyer's fee (which included the shipping cost raising it to $1.50 or so). So, basically, I spant $27 on the books, and around $16 in shipping and other fees. It still avereages out to 21.50 a book, but still. It's an easy site to work with, and there were tons of books going well below guide/GPA, but I'd wait until you were going to buy a number of books to make it more worthwhile. And Anfield, I'm looking at those 3 nice, sharp corners, what appears to be OW pages, very few noticeable spine stresses, and a crease free cover. Truthfully, I'm expecting it to be a 6.0 (Q) from what I'm seeing, and possibly better. But, I'll find out when I come home from vacation and it's waiting for me!
  14. Hey all! Been a good week for my Spider-Man collection! I just picked these two up from ComicLink (first purchases from there)-- the ASM 20 for $20 and the ASM 26 for $7. Sorry for the front covers only, but that's all they show. Listed as 1.0, but I wonder if it couldn't grade at a 1.5? OSGG says you can have up to 1/10 of the back cover off so... If not though, it still has a high presentation. Listed as a 2.0- okay, seems good to me.
  15. Obligatory compulsion in "have to" suggests a lack of desire that "want to" carries. And owners of these books really should "want to" own them. Otherwise, their greatness is lost upon the owner.
  16. Yeah, I have a copy of the first issue. I bought it off eBay for $7.50 thinking I was getting a steal only to find out it's the reprint. The two looks almost exactly alike, and he angled the photo just in such a way that I couldn't see the difference. I haven't read it yet because I'm still annoyed over it. And while I am also a low-grade collector, you do want to shell some dough out on the ASM 121-122 issues. I bought copies that are around a 6.5 - 7.0, and it's money I don't regreat spending in the least.
  17. "Gem Mint" -- you HAVE been scared by eBay! There's a schmo running auctions ALL the time with that in every title. I agree, more [accurate] info is better.
  18. And that, my friend, should point out to you an obvious difference between being a wife and just a girlfriend I dated my wife for over 4 years before getting married, and let me tell you-- didn't matter HOW well I knew her beforehand, things change once you say "I do." Buy all the high value books while you can!
  19. My monitor's dirty- I thought it was discoloration. Check the size of the missing piece, might still be allowable for that grade though.
  20. So you don't think it's a 2.0? I think a solid GD is running b/w $900-$950 though my hunting for this grail has shown it usually gets better than book prices. Hopefully it's a better than 2.0 You must be on cloud-freakin-nine right now! Are you married? My wife's heard me rave about this book, and can only imagine which way she'd choose to kill me if I can home with it
  21. DUDE!!! How much did you pick that up for (if you don't mind my asking)? That's awesome man, congrat's!
