  1. I love seeing shots like this.... Nice pick-up Rick!!!
  2. I second the nomination of Bunky's AMF 2/2 and Circumstances AMF 2/5 as the "comic of the year" so far!!!! It's a tie....
  3. here's another one A "presentable" looking copy of a "key Centaur". Also it's a Centaur of which I don't own a copy
  4. I remember when you posted that group shot the 1st time....then I was just thinking...wow! how beautiful to be present and see books like this all staring back at you! Incredible books, it would be nice to see what MLJ's he had also, I'm sure they would make an amazing group shot as well....
  5. But didn't The Gator complete just about the entire publisher in a matter of months? Or did he just gather the main series? Hi Bill, I don't think Gator picked up ALL the entire publisher. I think about 90% (he would be better to answer this), and keep in mind it's under 300 total copies, and that it took Win a while after actively going after Centaurs with the help of many Boardies. I only know of two complete sets, that would be Jon Berk and Win, and Win just recently accomplished this feat....
  6. Wow!!! I haven't been on the Boards in a couple of weeks and BAM!!!! Centaur heaven here. I have always considered Centaurs as the rarest comic publisher. Old DC comics as the next rarest and probably St. John or Dells next, and then Fox. For sure as a percentage of comics published, and the general scarcity of almost every issue, no one else is even close IMO. Probably 90% of ALL Centaurs are Gerber 6 or higher, and probably 40% or more of ALL Centaurs are Gerber 7 or higher. I once had the exact numbers on these but I am only going from memory now and I am probably off a little and since I am currently in the Philippines do not have the numbers at my disposal. Love your centaurs Circumstances, keep posting....and welcome to the Boards!!!! (thumbs u edit: Oh, and Michael also love the FP #35 (I remember selling you my undercopy), my copy is around 7.0, so your new copy is nicer....Congrats!!! and Bunky....
  7. The fact is Centaurs, early DC's, and early Timely's all have a lot in common with each other. I do like them almost equally, i guess it depends on what titles and issue numbers we are talking about.
  8. Gaawkkk!!!! Thawkkk!!!! Guulllppp!!!! Zaaaacckkkkaawww!!! Haaaaccckkk, Uuummmm!!! Zowie!!!! I think the 1 thru 10 run looks just as nice...as the 1 thru 13 run!!!! Nice shot Bill You gotta miss owning those....seriously if you are going to own a #1 thru #10 run...this is as good as it can EVER get (and I am not by choice a DC collector, I prefer Marvel (Timely) and Centaurs)...but early DC books round out the top three for me!!!
  9. OK, I guess that's not too shabby!!! I still like the Action 1 thru 13 group shot better. people have been known to call me crazy occasionally though!!!
  10. one of the best group shots ever on the boards. Yeah, i agree, i don't think you can have a better group shot than this. Even you you had a Tec 27, Cap 1, MC 1, Pep 22, and any other high priced books with the Action 1, I don't think it would be a better group shot. maybe something for discussion?? A group shot with Action 1 thru 13 or Tec 27 thru 39 which group shot would you prefer. I think I'd take the Actions.
  11. Thanks for the large scan of Action 23 comicdonna. I think it's a great cover all the way around. And what can one say about Supes 14 that hasen't already been said??? Probably the most iconic of all Superman covers. I also hope your son will appreciate it when he grows up the way we do here on these boards. Nice presentable copy too. Congrats!!!
  12. I think my 4.5 is in there. (thumbs u This is one of MY fav Actions Are these all still in your possession And what is the grade on the raw copy??? And yes that 4.5 copy looks sweet!!!
  13. Nice books MBA guy... (thumbs u Nice to see books posted here that you rarely see, and I've not seen either of these two books posted before. And....Welcome To The Boards!!!! PS- Got any Centaurs
  14. Billy you are doing the same thing I have done in the past year or so. The comic bug really hit me hard the 1st time in the Summer of 1964. I bought about 10 books off the spinner racks then (I was 10 years old) and I still remember each and every issue. All were Marvel's except for one DC which was World's Finest #143. The hardest one to find in nice condition recently was ASM Ann. #1 which I did find with the help of a "Boardie" who sold me his CGC 9.2 copy last year (Thank you Peter Loves Gwen). You are basically one to two months earlier than me because here was my list of books purchased on the same day off the rack. ASM Ann. #1, DD #4, ASM #18, FF #31, FF #32, JIM #109, AV #8, AV #9, Sgt. Fury #10, TOS #58, TOS #59, TTA #61, ST #126, X-Men #8, & WF #143. As you can see a couple of books were not sold and stayed on the rack a little longer without being taken off??? Which is why I was able to pick up two copies each of AV, FF, and TOS on the same day!!! To this day ASM Ann. #1 remains my all-time favorite book.
  15. Wow!!! Congratulations Howard, exciting news!!! Looking forward to hearing about and seeing some of the books in the collection.
  16. That's one pretty 8.0 yeah, that's a book you can't find in VF or better. Nice!!! (thumbs u The "Heart Throbs" issue is a beauty too. Great cover on that issue.
  17. Great pick-up Josh!!! (thumbs u Just an awesome drawing of the Black Terror too!!!
  18. Nice looking copy Jack of a tough, tough Centaur. I used to own the "Lost Valley" copy, which is now in the capable hands of our own M. Esquire.
  19. I love the Rangers #33 (I used to have a copy, but not that nice). I enjoy underwater covers immensely, and that's one of the best. Congrats on some great pick-ups Richard. (thumbs u
  20. As a matter of fact after just scrolling thru this thread and seeing all the other Centaur's Bunky picked up all I can say is...
