  1. Did they actually say their Mystery Box would top the previous one? BTW, the shipping for my Secret Santa/Raffle gifts came out to around $150 for shipping alone so that's why International shipping (and even domestic Priority shipping) is pretty expensive given enough weight. (And I actually don't remember sending anyone a Mystery Box... My brain cells are long gone. I've been here too long. )
  2. Gah...I wanted to update/redo the site to bring it up to speed and to highlight your new Artists Alley... (Plus pull in your updates from Facebook and Instagram since that seems to be where most of your "advertising" goes.) Too little time...
  3. I've decided to do the VCC this weekend... (shameless plug... ) so I'll throw in an SCKAO MYSTERY BOX. Due to the weight, it has to be limited to the U.S. Sorry. (Foreign winners can still choose it, but your Mystery Box will be coming from Amazon. )
  4. Your Community may have classes that she can attend at night or on weekends that are short-term and relatively inexpensive. They range from Art Classes like figure drawing, painting, sketching, etc. to introductory computer work. (A good grounding in Art and Design is important.) If she's interested in computer coloring, especially comic book coloring, something like this may be of interest... it's a DVD that an established Image colorist made that goes through the entire process using Photoshop.(Besides all the stuff you can find already on YouTube.) https://www.amazon.com/Comic-Book-Coloring-Steve-Firchow/dp/B0013TPNR2 Good Luck!
  5. Some Historical Context: The VCC would be effectively dead if @DeadOne hadn’t taken it over so he’s to be commended for keeping the spirit and the actual event alive. (And all of you who still participate.) The original intent of the VCC when we first started it was to give everyone an even footing to go after the great books the board members had for sale. People had no idea when certain board members would put up a sales thread and their books would sell pretty much instantly. People in different time Zones would also be at a disadvantage. So we started it with a set time to start. A Set Place to have everyone’s “booth” together in one location. An Index to let people know where everyone was... And as much external advertisement as we could do realistically. Everything was fair... Booths were grabbed on a first come, first serve basis. (Although Flying Donut and I got first page placement if we wanted it... ) The VCC was an attempt to even the playing field and bring everyone together. It’s changed over the years but in its early days, it had SideShows, Exhibits, Charity Auctions, etc. Everything changes. Evolve or die.

  11. So what were the final scores? Sheesh.... I have to figure it out? Congratulations to everyone moving on to the Final Three.
  12. While maybe not visually from a personal viewpoint... Arguably, the second is better than the first just for clarity. (Many kids may not have known what "Dr." meant.) (Images from MyComicShop.)
  13. @RockMyAmadeus, @marmat, @speedcake, @TheGeneral, @Point Five, @Black_Adam
  14. Congrats to all the higher seeds who are moving on... Except for the lone upset in Game 5.
  15. Seedings take precedence over geographic location.... So in the REAL NCAA March Madness Tournament, schools like Oregon and UC Irvine are in the EAST Bracket. Washington is in the MIDWEST Bracket. Buffalo is in the WEST Bracket. And so on... And then there's the fact that I don't know where most of you live... Game 1: 4 Seed vs 3 Seed Game 2: 8 Seed vs 14 Seed Game 3: 4 Seed vs 2 Seed Game 4: 1 Seed vs 3 Seed Game 5: 5 Seed vs 3 Seed Game 6: 8 Seed vs 2 Seed This is actually pretty close to what the real Tournament would be like although there should be more 1 Seeds still alive. *Ahem*
  16. I just noticed that @BlowUpTheMoon keeps using EST (Eastern Standard Time) instead of EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). Deadline is Monday, March 25th at 10:00p (EST) There IS a difference... but I'm going by PDT. Or Converting from ET (Eastern Time 10pm which is Pacific Time 7pm) My Countdown timer is based on EDT.
