  1. We're still on Eastern Daylight Time... (Or in my case, Pacific Daylight Time) so even though previous times have said EST, I'm not planning on showing any results until AFTER 8:00 p.m. EDT.
  2. 119 Grades are in for ROUND 1 (out of 143 Contestants) ROUND 1 ends TONIGHT August, 4, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. EDT STILL WAITING or MISSING Have you seen us? 1Cool aasparky1000 AJD Burntboy canickus CopperAgeKids Diaolos DNAgent eddly GeeksAreMyPeeps Gsims718 jaeldubyoo jimbo_707 kazoo Ken Aldred letsgrumble pjray55 Senormac spidermanbeyond spideyfan76 Thanos88 WEBHEAD zuulioso ElrodAllWrong (Let me know if you've submitted your grades and I've missed entering them of course...) Still time to join in... PM thirdgreenham to join the fray!
  3. 82 GRADES ARE IN (out of 138 participants) It's still not too late to join the competition! PM thirdgreenham if you would like to join. He will then send you an OFFICIAL GROUP PM. (Do NOT PM me with your grades directly. We use the Group PMs since we have 7-8 pages of PMs to sort through.)
  4. Bob makes some great points about diminishing the competitive advantage of companies by releasing their private sales data. It's never in their best interest to do so unless you come up with a method or way to make it profitable for them (or the entire industry) and to also insulate them from potential harm. If someone KNEW that a business model had a higher and more consistent sell-through for a similar book, they'd consign or place their books that way obviously. I.E. If it came out that books sold consistently higher through a particular website or type of website (automated auction versus buy-it-now versus immediate email drops of new acquisitions, etc.), other parties would see an immediate drop in business.
  5. There are a lot of legal cases (old and currently pending) about web and screen scraping... It doesn't look good for the company doing it generally. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_scraping
  6. Picked up a relatively expensive book at the VCC, paid quickly, smooth transaction.
  7. That was actually a very emotional ending... It tugged... and I got something in my eye. Yes, their spin-off which was originally nixed is now back on. Too bad, they were among the strongest characters on the main show...
  8. Great thread! You don't mention if you go to the bank each morning or not (theoretically)... That seems wise given the dollar amounts we're talking about... (Also, if the bank detects some of your cash/hundred dollar bills are COUNTERFEIT, they will just confiscate them.)
  9. Did they ever say the Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter was not in continuity with the television series?
  10. Remember that Whitehall is also the Kraken and is probably not dead.
  11. The GR DD 11 was microtrimmed? I don't think so. It was sold as a 9.4 and reappeared later as a 9.6. (Something that a normal press probably could have achieved.) (It was sold to Ewert and shipped to Brulato. All public knowledge.)
  12. I purchased the remnants of the Green River collection including some high grade copies the suspect's lawyer had put aside. Came onto this board for more information and the Green River Daredevil #11 I sold got embroiled in the Ewert situation.
  13. Easy to see why... Both the Wrecking Crew and the Absorbing Man gain their powers via the Norse Gods (Loki). Both also belong to Baron Helmut Zemo's Masters of Evil in a multi-issue storyline titled "Avengers Under Siege" http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix2/mastershelmut.htm
  14. The theme for Season Two of AOS is "Evolution"... so that ties in with all the Inhuman theories floating around... (Especially since Mutants are off the table.)
  15. Yeah, I don't see Agent Ward coming back as a good guy. He's in the Spike and Faith mode (or even Angel). Bad guy with some redeeming qualities... made more interesting especially if Skye manifests some powers. (Did they call her Skye because she fell out of the sky?)
  16. Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) will be on the April 29 episode. Samuel Jackson will be on the SHIELD Finale.
  17. The Clairvoyant doesn't need to be anything other than a person from the future... a la Booster Gold from DC. It would tie in with the Deathlok technology then.
  18. Turns out to be his name... Brian Michael Bendis and Mark Millar (#1–6) are bad men...
  19. Did some prankster change the Wikipedia entry from Von Doom to Van Damme? (or is that his real name in the Ultimate Universe? ) Shades of Jean Claude Van Damme!
  20. Have you guys read Ultimate FF? This sounds more like that... From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultimate_Fantastic_Four Millar completely rewrote the origin for the protagonists because he was not satisfied with the original 1961 story...[cut for length] In their version, Millar and Bendis wrote a story in which Reed Richards is a child prodigy, protected by his burly friend Ben Grimm from bullies, and a genius who had invented a method of teleportation in his youth. He is discovered by government official Willie Lumpkin, and subsequently recruited into a child prodigy think tank/school located in the upper floors of the Baxter building. There he meets Professor Storm, who leads the project, and his children, bioengineer Susan Storm and her younger brother Johnny. Reed also becomes the rival of Victor Van Damme, a fellow student. When Reed becomes 21, he plans to teleport an apple into a parallel universe (the "N-Zone"), but Van Damme claims Reed's calculations are wrong and changes the setup at the last minute. The five students get teleported through the N-Zone, and when they rematerialize, they return heavily mutated. After the Fantastic Four return to the Baxter building, they must soon face their first opponent, Mole Man.
  21. Some of the numbers could mean a DATE... the year 2030. The Clairvoyant could be someone from the future. (Deathlok is supposed to be a cyborg from the future, right?)
