Found a cool new DC Whitman 3-pack. I've never seen Action #505 or LSH #261 in a DC Whitman 3-pack before! Whitman quality control is on display here, with the middle comic inserted upside down!
Sadly, the top flap is trimmed. But from the remnant still visible and the timeframe, I think it would have been one of the "Super-Heroes" flaps.
I've included a sample image mockup of my guess to show how it might have looked with the top flap intact.
Contents:
Action #505
Legion of Super-Heroes #261 (middle)

I have a question for the pack collectors:
This is my copy of Brave and the Bold #154, obviously the regular version. I bought this because as a kid I remember seeing it in a 3-pack at a grocery store that typically didn’t carry comics. My recollection is that my mom refused to get it for me as she didn’t like paying for 3 comics when she didn’t know what the middle one was.
Things is, as I flip through this comic the interior looks very familiar. Maybe she did get it for me after some initial resistance? But I have no recollection of what the other comics were in the pack.
Anyone know what else was packed with this comic so it can maybe jog my memory?
The whitman 3-pack contained B&B #153, 154, and 155. I've not seen a DC multipack that contains this B&B issue, although it wouldn't be too surprising for it to have been in a 3-pack.

Thanks to @Warlord for this great post. And yes, @onlyweaknesskryptonite called on the right guy to solve the DC stickered bullet mystery.
Those stickered DC bullet variants are a different animal than the DC bullet UPC variants from the 1993/1994 era of 20-packs and 2-packs. The "bullet stickers" were only placed on Batman 414, 415, and 416 to the best of my knowledge, and they were produced in early 1989. Each of those 3 "bullet sticker" comic books had the words "THIRD PRINTING C 1989 DC COMICS, INC" printed in the indicia and a DC bullet sticker placed over a bar code on the front cover. They were packaged in the 3-packs that were sold in stores like Kay-bee Toys and Toys-R-Us. I'm just guessing, but I think the stickers were placed on the comic books so that a sales clerk would not scan the bar code on the comic books instead of the bar code at the top of the backside of the pack.
Here's some photos of the bulleted Batman 414, 415 and 416 still contained within the pack.
That's the only 3-pack, and therefore those are the only three comics issues, that I've ever spotted that contains issues with the DC bullet sticker placed over the UPCs.

That would be an interesting pack to see intact. I've only tracked Superman #340 in two packs - one is with Superman #338 and #339, and the other is with JLA #171 and Green Lantern #121. Superboy and the LSH #254 and #256 have been spotted in a pack together, but it was the oddball pack where the middle comic was Hulk #238. Where's that time machine so we can get these back into the sealed bag?

I don't have pics of this multi-pack! Please share an image of the other side, and if you could get the middle comic peeking out a bit in one of the images that would be great!

Has anyone ever determined for sure where these "No Month" variants originated? I have in my notes that they originally were found in Walgreen's multipacks, but I have never seen one after more than 10 years of looking. Examples include Batman 352, 353, 356, 357, Detective 519, Superman 377, 379 and Green Lantern 159. I've seen Batman 401 thru 403 "No Month" variants in a pack, but never found these earlier ones.
Interesting question. I just checked my multi-pack image library and came up empty.

Almost one year ago I parted with a heavily water stained copy for $61 and was amazed at the interest in it. I guess that buyer did ok!

you may want to qualify the Batman forever on the list as prestige format since the comic was also issued in mando format
Done, thanks!

Very nice discovery!
Thanks for the kind offer. This type of variant collecting is not on the radar for me, probably another rabbit hole I should avoid going down! I appreciate the generous offer to part with your dupes, and I imagine you'll get or already have gotten some takers!

Y the Last Man #1 is getting more interest lately. Also appears to be a modest uptick in all issues, but that's just moving them from dollar bin fodder to maybe $3-$10. They might continue to pick up with the series premiering yet this month.
Not that it has anything to do with the new YTLM streaming series, but the one that hasn't broken out that surprises me is #37, first DMZ. It's been hotter in the past than of late.

I've never heard of anyone trying to make such a list, but it would be an interesting subset of DCs to identify. Get the list started by doing some research and posting a preliminary list and I'll bet others will chime in to help you add to it!

p.s. That Superman Man of Tomorrow #5 DCU logo variant is also not common.
Yep, seems like it. A couple of the DCUs I picked up that day filled holes in my collection! And I found a few other bargains at the convention... I'm glad I made the effort to visit the show!

I can tell you that I once flew from Georgia to Minnesota to visit the renowned variant collector Jerome Wenker to buy his three mall variants (and some other great stuff) when he retired from collecting, to give you some idea of how hard it is to find these variants. So here's the current list, and I fully expect it to keep changing.
1. Clearview Mall
2. Cranberry Mall
3. Deerbrook Mall
4. Eden Prairie Center
5. Fiesta Mall
6. Florence Mall
7. Georgetown Park
8. Montclair Plaza
9. NewPark Mall
10. North Shore Square
11. The Parks at Arlington.
12. Rhode Island Mall
13. Spring Hill Mall
14. Town East Mall
15. Washington Park Mall
16. Westgate Mall
17. Willowbrook Mall
I can scratch #7, Georgetown Park, off the list, so I've only got 16 more to go! This is the first I've ever seen in person, and I've been searching for one ever since Kirk first posted about these rarities.
I think from what I've seen in this thread that it appears Kirk already has two copies of this one! Apparently it's a "common"!
I was amazed to find this copy at a local convention earlier this summer. It was literally within 15 minutes of closing time and I had just stumbled across a dealer I had overlooked all day while I was wandering haphazardly around the floor. After finding nothing of interest while searching the dealer's first five long boxes of dollar comics I was down to just the last box or two but kept at it. Suddenly I saw the #443! Like I had on so many previous searches, I pulled it out of the box while thinking "no way this will be a mall variant" and then lightning struck! I'm super excited to find this and pleased to have it in my collection! While I was chatting with the dealer I found that they were from Tennessee, so it seems this copy had to make a relatively short journey to come into their possession, and then up to Ohio for me to snag it.
Curiously, for the DC Universe collectors out there, I found it sandwiched with some DCUs. I can't believe my luck that this mall variant went unnoticed by all the other collectors for the entire day. I feel fortunate to have an opportunity to own such an interesting piece of comics history!
