Wow. No wonder it takes so long for things to get done there. They have the same turnover rate as Arby's...

I saw spoon in that town that most people wouldn't believe.
Hell, there were weekly (sometimes more, sometimes less) police car chases televised live. At one job, that I quit pretty quickly, they'd have a betting pool every time one happened. It would cover how many people would die, would the person get away, etc.
Streamer on Twitch shows only live, high speed chases in and around LA. Goes live on average at least once a week

If you're tired of reading comments, here's an interesting video by #reggiecollects. I'm not really a big fan of his, but his guest makes some salient points.
Will have to check this out

Super terrible idea. Comments here have led to zero good reasons why more rules are needed

If these are "investments" as the IRS is treating them, he has no tax liability. His basis in the books adjusts to market value when it passes from the estate to him. So, his gain would be $0. He will likely get his 1099 and pay 20-something% tax even though he does not owe it...heavy handed (yes, coercion) policy from the IRS. Sorry to thread drift.
Payment was via PayPal - he will 100% get one if it was for goods/services. Those of us who have lived under this draconian tax nonsense already know exactly how this works. People are in for huge surprises

Better hope the 1099K thread posters don't spill over and see this; they'll complain how you've harmed this guy and his situation by making him get a 1099K next year...
He’s in for a shock for sure

Won't matter. What I meant was many people have well exceeded the 20K rule and don't know it
yet because they didn't track their sales. They will get one this year and panic like every year only
many more will see them this year.
This year I am looking forward to less competition as some panic and decide to stop selling .
Local shops should like this too as they will have less competition should be a great year for long time
Sellers.A lot of individual sellers use the funds from small sales to shop from dealers. Good chance that slows down along with people just dropping out of the hobby. Trades / cash will likely be the new normal in other situations.

Pretty sure it applies to 2022 tax year, so 1099s under this new rule would go out in 2023.
Some this year…plenty of god-awful state governments implemented this nonsense in years prior.

The blowback for what? He was trolling CGC and they blocked him. Most people think that's appropriate.
Social media is a 2-way street. This thread is a perfect example. CGC leaves the comment alone and we never even hear about the incident here.

True. But a brand must be prepared for the blowback

There was a proposal (in the infrastructure bill maybe?) that would have required banks to report all deposits and withdrawals of $600 or more. It is a crazy proposal that has not been passed. Couple this with the $600 1099s and it seems like a concerted effort to track your money in every way possible.
