  1. This one? Wild guess, maybe $100 if it's a 9.8 like this one, but I don't have access to GPA or anything to be sure.
  2. The only problem with the suggestion is that it would require moderator intervention every time the threads needed to be updated. I though that it was dictated that the forum would be 100% community run? I'm sure they don't need yet another thing to keep up with. I would think that any talk of 'what we need to do' will have to rely on us as buyers and sellers and 0% work for the mods/admins. But that's just me speaking as a mod on a different high traffic website. We've got enough stuff to do, I can tell you that Couldn't you just sticky a thread that we can post in like in General? You could, however that is not what was proposed. It's my feeling that a sticky in the sales forums would get just as much activity as the one we already have (probably less). Nobody ever looks at stickies, all you have to do to see this is look at thread views for stickies a few days apart to see what I mean. Not saying it's a bad idea, just speaking from experience to it's possible effectiveness. We could always try it and see - no harm no foul

  4. Oddball sales thread coming this weekend (likely tonight). I've had big Marvel, DC and Indy threads, this time I'm going to have a bunch of stuff you don't see all that often. There will be comics in this thread, but uncommon ones for the most part. There will be a lot of non-comic stuff too: posters, pamphlets, whatever other kind of odd stuff I can find lying around the house. If I don't get it started tonight, then tomorrow for sure. This won't be as lengthy as my past sales threads, but there should be some fun stuff in there to keep it interesting. Being that it'll be a smaller thread than usual, if you've got any requests, feel free to PM or post them in the thread. Thanks!
  5. When did you go though all of this? I threw him on there a month or two ago, though mine wasn't nearly as mind-numbing as yours. Sorry to hear about another one getting the shaft from ffxmen14.
  6. Hugest possible kudos go out to kimik for a stellar box of old 1950's sci fi paperbacks and magazines. One of my favorite purchase made yet on the boards! Thank you
  7. Again, it's only a loophole around guideline 12 if the threadstarter isn't actively listing books. A majority of the time there is 'banter', it's going on while the seller is listing books, which is ok, IMO. If it's happening in an otherwise dead thread where the OP hasn't listed books for quite some time, then there's room for complaint.
  8. I comment, quote and joke around in FS threads all the time. I also spend at least a grand a month on here. You can always go to ebay to buy and sell, no chatter or community there. You wont even have to be polite to anyone. You're missing the point by about a mile. I'm not complaining about a little banter in a sales thread - what is annoying, though, is people posting drivel to either drive up their post count or just because they can. Does every modern sales thread really need 15 posts of "moar" & popcorn, and random pictures of either fatties or cheerleaders - particularly when those posts push down the sales threads where the seller is actually posting books? If those kinds of 'moar & popcorn' posts are taking place in a sales thread as the seller is posting books, I don't see a problem with it at all (in fact, some of the 'moar' pictures crack me up). It's when those kinds of posts are being made in a thread where a book hasn't been posted for hours (or even days) that the problem comes in. But as a thread is ongoing? I could care less, personally.
  9. A thousand times this. His sales threads are events. And they're fun. All the talking and banter make them fun even if you're not buying anything.
  10. 'Some'? Hell, I'd be happy with one Ye Old Lore? Really? No, CPG #2 - 1st prt. Plenty of 2nd prints out there.
  11. 'Some'? Hell, I'd be happy with one
  12. Thanks to ciorac for bringing the goods in his last sales thread. Outstanding krap to replace the other krap that I've gotten rid of over the last month. IT NEVER STOPS! AUGHHH!
  13. Yeah, I still haven't gotten that Moore sketch in the mail that you traded for some of those dollar books I sent. I'm hoping it will show up Monday. For real tho, thanks for the biz!
  14. Thanks to the following buyers for lightning fast payments in my last sales thread: Bio-Rupp Darth Corgi Elijah Snow FIREFLY kdoginohio paperheart
  15. Big shout out to Branget for helping me fill a couple of very major holes in my WD collection, including the coup de gras: The #1 (the RARE black version ) arrived today. THANK YOU JEFF!
  16. I'll be having a small (by my standards) sales thread of 3 Shortboxes of $1 Moderns. Well, mostly $1, there will be a few that are more. Several singles, several lots and a couple of keys (including Invincible 1 (raw)). Lots of good stuff to read in this lot, almost all of it from the last 5 years or so, several runs (Fables, DMZ, Brubaker Daredevil, Green Lantern, Dark Reign, Secret Invasion, New Avengers, Spider-Woman, Strangers in Paradise and a bunch of singles and/or shorter runs). Prolly will start listing either tonight or Friday depending on how the scanning goes (yes, scans for all dollar books will be available!) Do you hate when books are advertised as cheap and they're not? Hate when you see books you've sold on the boards being listed at a significant mark up? If so, this thread ain't for you! Click away and get your read on!
  17. I ordered one at the end of April and haven't heard anything either way. My credit card hasn't been charged though, so I'm not too concerned about it. Their server was certainly working well enough to take everyone's orders!
  18. Yeah, good luck with that. I lucked out finding a 1st print #1. Getting a HG #1 for anything under $50 right now is a steal. You can find #3 on eBay for anywhere from $6-$15 currently. No first print #2's in sight (other than second prints). Well, you can get one on Amazon for like $150
  19. Thanks to Chuck Gower for the sweet Kick Azz HC. I was one of the few that hadn't read it yet, but not anymore!
  20. Back atcha sir...it's people like you that make this place so much fun to hang around swappin' books and kickin' it old school. Thanks Nick!
  21. Thanks to Branget for the WD's. Only one more to complete the run and I'm getting that from him too in a couple of weeks
  22. Thanks to boomtown for the awesomest portfolio EVAR! This is even cooler than I was imagining. These EC covers are going to look AWESOME framed (someday when I get around to it). Shipped super fast, packed super well. WIN all the way around. Man, the postman has been good to me this week
  23. Big kudos to abracadabra for a giant box of indy goodies! He even went and looked through stuff in storage to find books on my want list. THANK YOU!
