  1. That's probably the best post in this whole dang argument conversation. Still not sure what's so difficult about selling though. An example: many sellers have a sales thread every couple weeks (we'll just use that time frame as an example). So in the past they had 3 sales threads with mixed age items in each thread. Now, instead of having 3 sales threads (one every two weeks) with mixed age items, why can't they just have 3 sales threads (one every two weeks) and each sales thread will be in the age appropriate forum? It's not really all that complicated. I did it and didn't turn into a gelatinous cube afterwards. It's just a matter of organizing your selling piles in a different way. IMO, most sellers here that tend to sell across ages generally have the inventory to make a successful sales thread in GA/SA/BA or CA/MOD. If I can do it with the krap that I sell, surely the guys that actually have quality merchandise can pull it off too. I dunno. There will probably never be a time where everyone is happy with the setup, but I don't mind it as a buyer or a seller. I'm not married to any particular setup though, regardless of how it's organized, I love browsing for books here more than anywhere else, and it's not even a contest.
  2. Overdue kudos to: capt_comics for giving my KISS Super Special a new home Paratrooper for taking my spare porn Lebowski for grabbing some Sam Kieth stuff azcards4ever for picking up some Elfquest readers All great forumites to work with. Thanks again!
  3. - from your lips to God's ears. Also...instead of complaining that nobody wants your stuff, that 30% price decrease will work wonders there too. (thumbs u
  4. Me too! I've had no problem whatsoever in my sales threads either . Last weekend was crazy for sales threads. So you have said about 10 times now I know....just trying to keep up with you guys Figure one of us groups will get tired eventually.

  6. Thanks to ColleSystem for a couple of nice midgrade BA spideys
  7. Apparently so! I missed it too. It's always a shame when you can't catch that 'Vulgar Nonsense' in person
  8. Did they sound indignant because it didn't sell? I always love those ones
  9. - I fixed that in my listing, thanks for pointing it out (albeit indirectly). To be honest with you, as infrequently as I sell books, I don't think anyone has ever chosen that option because I usually move bigger lots. I lost money on shipping during my last two sales. Sorry if I offended, it certainly wasn't intentional. Speaking of eBay....weren't they supposed to be doing something to prevent shipping $$ gouging? I was checking out a comic auction the other day where the guy was charging $12 for the first comic and $1 per comic after that up to $6, for a maximum cap of $18.
  10. - it's so tough to find the sub-forum, I just sold 300+ books in it last weekend.
  11. Going to be listing a bunch of misc. esoteric graphic novels & tpbs today/tonight, some of which you don't see too often. Bisley's Slaine, some adult stuff (Crepax, Manera), and other misc. stuff. Some comic mags (Marvel's KISS Super Special, some Elfquest). Trying to clean out some room in my magazine boxes. I do have a couple of more mainstream titles too, Greatest Batman & Joker TPBs, and a couple others.
  12. Always wondered how you pronounce Par2ch. Par-tooch? Parch? Its Par TWO shh Sweet! What's it mean? Or is that top secret?
  13. - seconded. You could probably have an operation in that room and not have to seal it off! My comic room wouldn't/couldn't look like that even if I had a troupe of Merry Maids coming through every day to clean up after me. I'm a huge clutterbug and wouldn't have it any other way. Looking through all of these rooms is a lot of fun though, you can definitely see a bit of the personalities of each person come through in the room.

  15. By 'multiple', it's really only two, max, if you have books spanning all the ages. I don't see the problem, personally....just have two selling threads back to back instead of one giant one. That's what I did last week. I had 4 buyers that held off paying invoices after my modern thread ended so they could check out the SA/BA thread I had afterward. It was no more difficult for me than having one big thread. The logistics are just a little different, but if you explain what you're doing (when announcing your threads, then again in the first post of your sales thread), it shouldn't be much of an issue, IMO. Then it's just a matter of planning out your threads. Piece of cake.
  16. Special thanks to the following folks who frequented my two sales threads last week and paid within about 5 minutes of being invoiced....guys like you are the reason it's so fun to do business here on the boards. Though it's really less about business and more about screwing around. CJ gcstomp (twice, this crazy guy bought from me!) towards2112 whine49er ComicDoc 3319 - Dude, you were short about $400 on your payment, but it's all good shortstack comics faster friends hesdeadjim returner Thanks again fellas!
  17. I don't think there's a problem at all. My sales thread in GA/SA/BA was hopping this weekend, I sold way more than I thought I would (once again...same happened for my modern thread last week). I went a couple hours without posting and my thread moved to page two, so there's definitely not a lack of activity. As a buyer, I can't tell you how much better I like it this way. I don't have to sort through a bunch of clutter to look for the older stuff. If I want moderns, or want to browse, I know where they are.
  18. I'll have a few sales in the next couple weeks: Large run of BA Ghost Rider as well as the Marvel Premieres with his appearances. Grades are all over the place, though most of the early issues are probably VG+. Large run of Hero For Hire (then Power Man) from 1-50 (most issues), most really nice (tho no super high grades). Large run of G.I. Joe. Not sure of conditions...maybe VF+ from issue 21 up (mostly later issues I think). An almost complete run of Howard the Duck, probably VFish, but I'll have to check. A bunch of comics related posters from the late 80's/early 90's. All are well used, but in solid shape. Some good stuff (Dave Stevens, Alex Ross come to mind, but there are a ton of 'em). Seems like there's something else, but that comes to mind right now. If anyone has any preference as to what goes first, just holler.
  19. That's awesome, Arch! Is there any way you can get rid of the 'Posted by' line, so you just have the thread title? That would tighten up that screen quite a bit.
  20. Dunno about the number of viewers, but the GA/SA/BA forum has been slamming busy. I was shocked at how much stuff I sold this weekend (mainly because there aren't a lot of low/midgrade collectors around here). I went a few hours without posting on Saturday evening and my thread was on page 2 of that forum already. No complaints here. I was extremely happy with it.
  21. Really? Is everyone seeing what I'm seeing? Looks like nonsense. Looks fine to me (if you're looking for a big list of all the Marketplace Forum threads). The only difference is that you see a post in addition to the thread title. Might be better if it just showed the thread titles though.
  22. Grails: OBTAINED! Special thanks to Comicdey and MCMiles, from whom I purchased these last year. The ASM is a Pence, but I still it. And the Masks.....
  23. I'll be having a big potpourri SA/BA sale starting sometime today in the SA/BA forum, all Marvel from A-Z. Most books will be mid-grade, with a smattering of low grade and even less of a smattering of high grade. If you don't like big 'many mixed titles in one' sales threads, then this will not be the thread for you. I'm trying to clear out space, so have gone through all of my boxes and am moving as much as possible for around 50% of guide. I haven't counted, but will guess there will be a couple hundred books or so. All books have been scanned and are ready to go, so I should be posting several at a time once I start. I do have several boxes to go through though, so it should run at least through the end of the weekend (maybe longer, depending on non-comic related stuff going on). NOT INCLUDED in this sale (because I have large enough runs that they'll get their own threads once this one is done) are: Hero for Hire/Power Man, Ghost Rider, Captain Marvel/Warlock. Maybe some others that I'm not remembering right now.
