  1. Right on all accounts....I don't understand the big fat SOLD replacing the selling price either. Maybe the price listed wasn't the price it sold at? That doesn't really matter, you'd have the starting point and ballpark figure at least.
  2. I hope to start a DC sale this weekend like the Marvel sale I had last week to get rid of a few longboxes of DC books that have been collecting dust in my collection for quite a while. I've got scans of about 150 books, and 6 longboxes of stuff that isn't scanned that I'll try to take pictures of before starting. I may not have pictures/scans of everything, but will be selling in cheap lots like my last thread and will try to have at least group pictures for most of the stuff. There will be some great reader lots including stuff from the 70's, 80's and 90's so stay tuned

  4. 60% or better off guide and you'll sell some books. I moved about 2 or 3 longboxes worth last week. Of course I lost a scatload of $$ in the process, but what the hell, I freed up a bunch of space to make way for new comic drawers
  5. Thanks to sonfoywh for filling some holes in my walking dead run. Only a few more to lock down!
  6. Thanks to thedude for a sweet old Black Magic and Kathryn for the 3 Goon tpbs. Both quick and exactly as described. WIN!
  7. WHAT!?!? I GOT RIPPED OFF!!! J/K man, glad they got there ok and glad you enjoyed 'em (thumbs u I'll be listing a bunch of Indys either in the VCC or before then, so keep an eye out!
  8. Thanks to Point Five for a nice low grade Planet Stories pulp. That's five down and a crapload more to go!
  9. Big time HUGE Kudos to Angelo (TheWatcher) for the Dark Horse Goon run....what a fantastic set of books. I owe you one. Actually, I owe you several, kind sir. I hope to return the favor one day.
  10. Thanks to bubbagump for The Goon TPB and shiverbones for a bunch of crazy 70's Horror mags!
  11. Got this the other day from 143ksk....my journey into GA is becoming somewhat of a trend now. I'm starting to sell off all my Bronze heroes to buy GA Sci/Fi & Horror Comics & Pulps. I'm screwed. I know you all have probably seen this a ton of times, but I it!
  12. I tend to agree with you, though obviously it's not a rule by any means. Almost all of my threads are 50% off OSPG. Of course nobody ever wants my drek, but that's another story Actually, I do pretty well with my threads. I'm happy the books are going to boardies at a deep discount. I have gotten plenty of deals here on the boards and love to return the favor any time I can. I just got a screamin' deal from Angelo (TheWatcher) on a run of Goon that I can't wait to get and peruse. That being said, I have seen some books that have left my possession and appear here on the boards drastically marked up under a month later. That's a little annoying, but what can you do?
  13. I'm going to be listing a pretty nice run of Power Man/Hero For Hire from 1-62. Well, I'm pretty sure I'll list the #1, but haven't fully decided yet. Depends on how the rest of the run does. 2-62 will definitely be listed. I have a complete run from 1-27 and most of the rest, minus maybe 5-10 issues up to 62. Most of these are very solid copies, even the earlier numbers (except 1 which might be a 6.0). A lot of VF's and some higher. I'll start listing today or tomorrow.
  14. Thanks to 143ksk for a gorgeous Startling Terror #11 L.B. Cole cover (and the book in the cover too) - looks better in hand than it did in the scan and awesome packaging! w00t!
  15. Looks like a complete set (1-60) sold on eBay yesterday for $510.
  16. Did a search and didn't see anyone post this before....has anyone else seen this? I'm assuming it's just a 'for fun' piece, but ! I don't know anything about it, but it's on this page.
  17. Ditto. No dog in this fight, but: I've had issues here and there (mostly as a buyer) with board members where I had sent PM's to the seller to discuss an issue or two, and several times have had PM's read but not responded to for a day or two. I've always waited for a response and have always received one. I might get antsy if I have to wait a week or something, but a day or two is not out of line, IMO. Sometimes when you read a PM you don't have time to answer it right away, for whatever reason. I've done that myself a few times, but the definition of 'long time' is in the eye of the beholder. To me, the past reputation of the board member in question has to count for something and when you're only talking about a day or two without a response, that's jumping the gun, IMO, when you're talking about an established buyer/seller that you're dealing with. Not to mention the 30 day 'rule' to bring the dispute here.

  19. I think Mac Man has the right approach....short of a ban, but more like a virtual Scarlet A from the board until Cap makes right. That makes sense to me as it seems pretty clear (at least to me) that he doesn't yet understand 100% how a community works. You don't have to wrong a specific person to lose that person's trust or friendship.
  20. Ditto What are the chances that this is some kind of Paratrooper April Fool's Thread?
  21. You got that right. gilbertotorres was a minor as well, IIRC FWIW.
  22. Kudos to Cimm for a couple sweet (and cheap!) GA books and capt_comics for the first of what I expect to be many Planet Stories pulps. Thanks guys... Grade A all around
  23. That's definitely the case for me. work is slow, money is slower and purchsases are heartbreakingly slow I would probably add around $1000 dollars worth of books a month to my collection 3 months ago, that's now down to below $200. There are definitely books I've had to pass up that I would have snapped up without a thought before Christmas. It's a shame as I've missed some very nice books, but when times get tight the kids come first, wife second and me last. I'm pretty sure it's not just me who's had to slow down lately. +2
