I've never had the desire to own this book. I'll see Harley Yee or some other major dealer at a show and ask to see their Hulk 1, AF 15, Adventure 247, but in all my years of collecting, I have never requested to see a Showcase #4. I can understand its significance as the 1st Silver Age book (although arguements can be made against it), but the Flash is a second tier DC character, and the Silver Age resurgence of Superheroes was 50 years ago and for folks in my age group (between 30-40), it doesn't mean a lot. We always had Superhero comics around, and more significantly, Marvel Superheroes. Having said all of the above, I see this book dropping several notches in desirability and relative OPG value against other books in the next few years, but that's just my opinion. Anyone think otherwise? Anybody remember the book's price range at the time of this post in 2010? In 2010 I sold cgc 4.0 for 3200 Cgc 7.5 was 20k I bought a raw copy that year off a dealer at NYCC for $1800. Handed it over to Matt to clean up some pencil marks and press the book then off to CGC for a 3.5 OW I believe.

I think partly why is they bring some really good SA books to eBay with no reserve, and they have a fairly good reputation on there, so bidders feel relatively safe. They sure do attract a lot of bids on their books.

I feel like these are related... That's a good point. I would think bidders have to contact them before bidding or risk their bids being cancelled. I would hope they have some measures to protect the integrity of the bidders. Funny that bidder with 0 feedback has now cancelled all his/her bids. I guess us talking about it here made something happen.

Haven't posted in this thread in a while but it's great to see how far this book has come. Who would have imagined so many tv & movie appearances, and popularity the character would have. It's about time!

Trumped by a Wonder Woman

It is incredible how much the tone has changed about Gal Gadot playing Wonder Woman. But you have to recognize her for the achievement, as she packed on 17 pounds of muscle with her training to get over the 'too skinny' concerns. Indeed I was a doubter. Her presence in the BvS movie put my initial fears to rest and the trailer just confirms her as a great pick for the role.

Looks like WW fans are going to be in for a treat. It's about time the character got some respect. I for one can't wait to see this movie.

Yeah that was pretty sad finale. Totally ridiculous how Ollie just inspired a few citizens and he can then beat DD. Why is every superhero movie or show dealing with world-ending events. What happened to good old fashioned bank robberies! Arrow is a street fighter not a world saver. Damian and he fighting it out with fists to determine the fate of the world is just a little too much. I hope they get done recents writers on these CW shows before they start getting cancelled. But then again they seem to be doing ok in spite of this. I do still very much enjoy watching them.
