  1. Kudos to Shark (Mike) on the sale of a sweet Metal Man #1 he donated for the charity sale for Flatrock. Nice guy to deal with too. Thanks Mike!
  2. Ok, but remember a 7.0 #7 also sold for $7,768. in July, and a 7.5 #6 sold for $5,975 in February. I guess it boils down to impatient collectors with a lot of spare cash. Collecting this title you have to get used to the fact that not a lot of copies come to market, and you may have to let some go or get hosed trying to outbid Warren Buffett.
  3. The highest-graded WW #7 (9.4 OW/W) just closed on c-link at a cool $12,450.00 to almost double the last sale of a 9.4 Is this title on the move?
  4. Six-grand for a press, resub and flip. Risky but not bad for a quick return.
  5. This was actually the transaction that kinda freaked me out, it says the book is in NM (perfect condition on the actual listing) with tiny photos that looked like stolen scans. This seemed to me to be the exact thing you see when they are a scammer. Oh well, no one's perfect. Oh and it's a "she" not a "he".
  6. Yeah, I cast dispersions about the seller and contacted her and she made it clear that she was dealing with her husbands books and was a little inexperienced, but I concluded not a scammer. Now she's still listing keys - she has a Avengers #1 & #4. Better keep an eye on that one I think
  7. Here's one on ebay that might fit in somebody's budget. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190720056695&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123 Centerfold detached, but it's all there.
  8. A fine copy there Sir Speedy-D Welcome to the corps!
  9. Is that the art of the one-and-only Frank Frazetta on this cover of Heavy Metal
  10. I've had the pleasure of having dinner with her a few times. I think I was at that dinner - the CBCA at Virgil's That was fun (thumbs u
  11. Thanks Bob-a-loo. No point in getting the restored Showcase 14 slabbed. It's a great copy and overall I didn't pay much-- including Susan's restoration fee which in this case was $200.00 + Shipping and insurance. Book only took two days to get back to me and we live on oppositecoasts. An "AttaBoy for the USPS. I have three friends who work for the postal service. They deserve recognition. Also, I can read the book and enjoy two Flash stories before the character got his own book. Susan does great work and you don't have to wait forever to get your book back. I met her at Comic-Con San Diego. She is one of the nicest and may I add attractive persons you'll ever meet. I think she looks exactly like my wife. If you need a book restored she's the got-to expert. SLR Actually I have used Susan in the past and found her work to be terrific. Not to take anything away from our friend Kenny, but indeed she is prettier. She's a hoot as well! I think restored books are going to come back in favor and the folks who got them for a deal are going to have a good laugh at the critics who avoid them. Mind you, I'm not talking about frankenbooks, tastefully subtle restorations or conservation. My wish
  12. . . . or I'll just have to learn to be happy with the 5.0 I have. Again, nice books fellas (thumbs u
  13. Some sweet books you got there DK and SLR. That 6.0 #14 would sure fit nicely in my set. But then I'd have to upgrade my #8 cause it'd be the only 5.0 I have Columbia Comics has a nice looking #14 in 6.0. Someone should buy that and spare me the temptation. That restored #14 looks real sweet. Are going to keep it raw or get it slabbed? I got to get something restored, I should give Susan a call. Carry on (thumbs u
  14. In all fairness to the eBay seller that listed that 2.0 SC #4 that I highlighted earlier and cast doubt, she contacted me and I'm somewhat convinced she is a legitimate seller that just has.no experience selling comics. Carry on
  15. I saw that book on ebay. (I'm watching it ) Love to upgrade my #8,13 & 14 (all are in the 5's). I'd have to sell my last Marvel to do it Don't make me BTW, Nice Books you have there guy (thumbs u
  16. Agree! Scored my copy just a few months ago (thumbs u
  17. mycomicshop watermark, so I guess it's not legit Sent a note to seller: " . . . I noticed that this book has a mycomicshop.com watermark. Why is this so? Is this book currently in your possession? Can you provide me with the CGC certification numbers for this book? The listing says the book is CGC 2.0, but there are no photos of the slab. Can you please clarify?" We'll see if they respond
  18. Could be I need to look at it on a bigger screen than an iPhone though.
  19. Opportunity or scam? Can't see what it says but image has a watermark on the bottom right front cover. 9 previous sales by this seller according to feedback. Apparently one sale was an Amazing Fantasy #15 NM for $11,700.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150880025142&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123#ht_500wt_922
  20. It was easy for me to find my favorite Kubert (inked) cover
