  1. So you think it'll press out to a 9.2
  2. The cover of WW #3 is a jewel of a cover in the 1-10 run. Just fantastic colors on that cover.
  3. Ok, fair enough. But I still think they could tell us how many of a certain combination of defects add up to a particular technical grade? I realize there are other factors, PQ, yellowing, detached staples, etc., etc., but I don't think you can say it's impossible to document. How would they train the graders if nothing is written down? I mean are they taught using verbal instructions passed from one grader to the next.
  4. I think publishing useful CGC guidelines would be an impossible task. There are just so many different combinations of defects, flaws, wear, and aging that any complete guidelines would take up a large chunk of the internet. I know people point to Overstreet's guidelines as an example. They are somewhat useful. But they are also woefully incomplete. I also can imagine the kind of lawyering that CGC would be subject to if they did publish any standards. "Mr. Litch, may I turn your attention to subsection 67c, paragraph k, wherein..." I guess I believe grading is more an art than a science. And art doesn't lend itself well to any type of rigid standards. So it is a mystic art, that only CGC staff have the capacity to comprehend
  5. After all, misery loves company. The 8, 13 & 14 are tough to find in decent shape.
  6. Maybe It's high time CGC published the guidelines they follow for grading. Why all the mystery
  7. Well, now you have the #4 (as evidenced by that splendid copy in your signature line) so let's get going
  8. Nice to see it has great company in it's new home (thumbs u
  9. Safe in the sixes that's where I like to be.
  10. That makes sense. Just like with any submission where you can't put different service tiers or categories on the same form
  11. True, but as PQ can vary from one re-submission to the next, how critical is this really, especially in the case of DC's? I hope not too damming, as 3/4 of my collection of DC's are CR/OW Didn't one of your SC22 got better PQ the next time around. Yep. So did my AF #15 (CR/OW to OW) . . . my blathering redacted But I totally understand why Bob prefers W pages, you'd be nuts not to

  13. Indeed Flash105 is pretty distintive and unique on the boards. Wish I'd been a little more creative when I dreamed up my board handle.
  14. Besides yours, these are the only other board handles that start with showcase: showcase4 ShowcaseNE Unless I am missing something, which is also possible
  15. Yep, it was complete - I would guess it was about VG +/- Happy as a pig in poo
  16. So Showcase4 man, looking forward to your 7.5+ . . . and perhaps an identity change to Showcase-4 It's not taken yet
