  1. Doesn't this make you want to cry link
  2. I keep hoping we get to see some of these someday
  3. . . . to borrow off your comment, It's been out of my range from the beginning Nice book, strong sale price. Best of luck to the new owner.
  4. Anyone keeping track of this auction? ebay link All Star #8 1st appearance of Wonder Woman , CGC 8.5, the 2nd highest graded copy, with a little over 9 hours to go and it's over $65K. Could this actually break $100K?
  5. What a great story around that All Star #8. Like the rest, I also think you made a wise decision. This is like the action one of Wonder Woman. There are dozens and dozens of Hulk 181's to be had, but scant few of these. I also agree its a great candidate for resto and I look forward to seeing the results of the restoration. Congrats! Now it's off to NYCC for me
  6. If it hasn't been said before Sha is the best! Love the books sky! Bob
  7. Action #2 no less and I saw that Batman #66 you bought I fear you are slipping away from us here in SA land
  8. Nice! (thumbs u Careful, those GAs can get addictive.
  9. Definitely, tape can be a bear to remove . . or easy if it's dried and flakes right off. I've had the former, and it was a pain-in-the-arse & cost me a bundle to remove. But one thing's certain, remove it you must or it'll degrade the book over time.
  10. I understand why you might want to restore a book especially if it's a low grade, but consider that you might someday upgrade it, it'll be easier to selll your low grade unrestored book later and you won't have put as much money into it on restoration fees. They can add up. And do-it-yourself restos are definately a no-no to most collectors unless the doer really knows what they are doing the results rarely turns out for the better.
  11. Once you pay for the notes, you will receive them instantly via email. That's pretty terrific I'm glad CGC came to their senses about the pricing.
  12. I'm going to give it a whirl, as soon as I get time. I'm pondering re-subbing a few nice SA books that are in old style slabs and want to check what flaws might be lurking within. Them old style slabs sure can be rewarding. Or not. What's the turnaround on notes?
  13. I wonder how much of that they uncovered and how much was (spelled out for them) on the certificate from the restorer Thanks for sharing this (thumbs u
  14. I got to try it. After all the noise I made about the original pricing, I have yet to order any under the revised pricing. I guess it'll be a good winter project for me. Yeah, what did those notes say - and was it helpful/valuable information?
  15. Wow, that is a nice copy. isnt that one of the nicest covers in the series, if not all GA covers? It looks like an art nouveau litho print. Just stunning.
  16. You got that right sir! Very nice colors and I wonder if there is something hidden that hammered it down. Remember one can order the notes from CGC. I'm thinking of doing this on a few of my books, some of which are in old style slabs. I wonder how complete the "older" notes are? One way to find out.
  17. Here's a WW #3, not one of the commoner issues on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/330789244193?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
  18. Ok . . . there's a new 5.0 CR/OW copy up for auction on C-link, where a 4.5 OW copy in the "for sale" section just sold for $5125. c-link And then there's this copy (with the detached centerfold) on ebay ebay
  19. Yeah, It does look familiar, after closer inspection. I know I've seen that white splotch on the top of the "S" in Showcase. Was it restored when it sold on c-link? I can't find the listing, which is weird since they used to keep sold books on the web site forever.
  20. Must ... resist ... speaking ... about ... 6.0 ... copy ... on ... ebay I me got one but I want em all, that's my problem
  21. You bought this particular book, or SC#4? I stumbled across this listing and asked the seller what name was stamped in the book, as I owned a SC#4 and used to stamp my name on the inside bottom front page. It wasn't my name my book, it was his. Seemed like a nice enough guy, I dunno know. So many folks looking figured I'd mention it. There's another one for sale on eBay, think I recall it being raw and having a loose centerfold. Maybe I better stop referring these books before somebody accuses me of shilling.
  22. Here's an original-owner copy that looks decent. Cover detached from bottom staple but nice cover gloss and strike. Price might be a tad high. Anyway guy seems nice and he has tons of positive feedback and only a few negatives (3) that seem like anomalies. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200357466972&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123
