  1. great analogy, and i agree, but there may be a difference from selling ONE book and exiting, stage left .. than selling your whole collection. It may be easier to remove all emotion and ties when the whole collection is gone, and such an iconic collection. This guy sold ONE frickin book and now he's removed his profile !? Uh Boy !
  2. hilarious .... I am so close to this point with my patients as well , I do love some of them but others ......... my comics at serious risk as well
  3. fantastic white-pager !!!! Batmanis would predict that this is valued closer to an average 5.0 price point ..........
  4. what a fantastic looking, raw copy ! 40 years ago, what a deal I would assume compared to value today (looks like a solid 5.0 at least to me) Welcome to the Club !
  5. imagine what his whole collection looked like, all unslabbed too ....... Jeez Louise !! I cannot compare at all, but here is a few group shots of my unslabbed days:
  6. I think the answer is two-part 1) if you were sitting on such a big book(s), should have been graded a while ago 2) if you ever decide to sell such a huge book, I'm sure the big auction houses will slab it for you at no charge or a shared charge in your favor
  7. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around how this "levine" collection sold as one whole collection with these huge books unslabbed ??!!!! and just a few years ago ...... any help in explaining how and why
  8. That dude had a real love of comics clearly sell, and then "Why would I come on here anymore"......... so he had like 2 SA comics only - nothing else ?, sold them, and since he has no books left, he's out? And he will stay "private" with regards to his GA books ? Weird Bye Bye
  9. my point was more how he was literally obsessed with prices and sales for so long, over and over, on this thread for last few years .... and the irony that he chose to sell now I guess we now won't get the hourly sales updates of all AF15's all the time anymore ..............
  10. He was on here with price updates for last few years - kinda surprised he missed out on the peak he could have cashed in on a couple years ago, if he was looking to sell But, congrats anyway and good luck enjoying the $$$ in the Golden years
  11. if someone is "unloading" such a big book, I doubt it would be to a guy who doesn't know how to find values of said big books ......and I doubt he wouldn't have scans/pictures of it sent over immediately I'm calling BS on this
  12. love BC , love this !! freakin' hilarious too, hope it goes up on a wall at home/office
  13. Superman #6 in early 2000's from LCBS ......... and that sent me on my huge GA journey to this day .......always collected silver Spider-man, DD and ROM as a kid, never knew GA even existed .....
  14. sell them page by page ........ Cap 1 single page values these days ?
  15. 1st rule of Insurance: "We don't cover that" 2nd rule of insurance: "We do cover that, but unfortunately not in your case"
  16. I literally laughed out loud at work, OMG !!
  17. yuuuuuuuupppppppppp !!! (actually I was just kidding............................) it's actually an extremely fascinating story, and I think many of us on here may relate to this guy (the father) at least in a small way
  18. whatever it was, hoarding, mental illness, Aspbergers, a normal collector like all of us (!) ....... family hit the JACKPOT and should be kinder in the words they use to describe this man
  19. I don't know, I always love reading the early solo Batman stories from late 30's ..... yes, I don't think they are worthy of study in a Grade 12 English class, but just great to see the first stories of the Dark Knight and how ruthless and serious he was, before the campiness set in.....
