  1. That is a very nice looking copy. You are in the minority on restoration but I think that is a good minority to be in. You get desirable books at a discount.
  2. Buy low sell high...buy high and sell higher (a bit harder)...good business model. Tulip mania begins.
  3. That is a nice trio. It goes well for someone who loves the Walking Dead.
  4. Pure Garbage. If you had an X-Factor 1 and a Spawn 1, it might be worthy of a repost.
  5. Awesome pickup. I think I need to upgrade. You had a great 2011.
  6. I love issue 106. That is a nice looking copy.
  7. For the most part Flash prices have been in a decline. The price the 106,100, 119, and 137 got in the last auction were cheap historically. The 105,107 and 123 made the sellers really happy.
  8. Just finished the following: Missle Envy Uncivil Society China Road- very good read if you want to understand what is going on over there. Reading at the moment: The Prince of The Marshes The Fate of Nature The End of Oil Best Fiction I have read lately: The Passage Never Let Me Go Spiral- strictly consumption fiction
  9. The 87 is the highest graded. But it would scare me to bid highest graded money on an 8.5. What is big money on the 87?
  10. It's becoming a problem for buyers as well. I was so busy with vacation I did not have time to even put a bid in. I would not have passed on that book for less than 45K. Unfortunately, that's the breaks. I feel bad for the owner. Its seems that a sprinkling of seeds with a few dealers might be the way to go before you actually turn it over to one of the houses. I have both good and bad experiences with selling and I am learning. Selling books is about good timing.
  11. WTTB- It's nice to have another Flash fan.
  12. It's also on ebay. Why oh why do people do this.
  13. Yes the grade is accurate. The front and interior is 9.0 and above unrestored. How it ever lost just the back cover and nothing else was damaged is wierd. All of the problems is that a low quality back cover was used for the marriage. Of course 9.0 back covers would be in high demand. The back cover is like one of our esteemed board members like Gator or Bob getting married to a high school drop out on drugs. I have shown the book to a couple of people and they think if I am willing to go Mp that it would get a 8.0+ grade. For now I will be happy looking at my 9.0+ front cover and enjoying the book. I took a gamble buying it and it paid off from my perspective.
  14. Sounds as though the AC copy certainly did have an impact on the asking price for this copy. Pretty agressive asking price for a 4.0 copy at what basically amounts to almost 10X condition guide versus only a bit over 6X guide for the highest graded 9.2 AC copy. Actually the negotiations were cut off by the seller, as he ( I ) really does not want to sell the book at this time, so the chance of a sale was better, than not, IMHO, B and the price range was actually determined before the AC copy ever even came to market (thumbs u To rephrase myself, the demands for this book, in any grade high or low, seem to be on a scale of 10 to the 5th power, that's wha I'm saying, yall Well, how about if the book was sitting in a purple slab? Do you think the demand for this particular book is strong enough to overcome the stigmitizing power of the PLOD to still be able to realize an over guide price? To me, that is the true strength of a book and what quite a few of the real in-demand GA books have been able to achieve so far. Now, those are your real keepers! (thumbs u I sold a 4.5 SP copy for $6200 earlier this year. Guide is $3408. And that book has found a home for a long time.
  15. Do you have to be chosen to receive a Showcase 22 or can anyone get in?
  16. I just got one. Decent price. Great book. Thanks to Andy. I wish I had known about it before you consigned.
  17. Yeah, I bet that guy or gal is not happy. I'm really shocked. It looked like this book had a little momentum. I hope Gator snagged it. It would be just like him to pick it up for a song. The 8.5 Mohawk sold for 28K last year or there abouts.
  18. 140 and 150 are two of my favorites. I wish the cover to SC 8 was a classic since it is hard in high grade but it is not.
  19. My former high grade copies of SC8 and 14 sat on Ebay for months but both are now gone.
  20. Come on: 211,216,219,221,224,230, and 243 to name a few.
  21. There are some really good bronze age Flash covers.
  22. Finding the right scanner is something someone on the board could help with. I say go ahead and start a thread.
  23. Marvel Westerns aren't as bad as I thought.
  24. "Carry on my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more"
