  1. Yep it has been down for a few days now.
  2. I hadn't looked back but did report it as I am sure others must have as well.
  3. My assumption is when Ebay tries to recover from the money from the seller's PP account (which is just as fake as the auction), it will be empty or closed he rides on to set up more spurious Ebay and PP accounts to thieve again. The seller may also create phishing, fake invoices to capture the buyer's PP account information and the seller may attempt to divert the buyer to another form of payment.
  4. Intentionally posed or just happen chance? Either way, I got a chuckle - www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Trek-Vintage-Toys-1970s-Walkie-Talkies-Spock-Toy-Guns-/122359014191?hash=item1c7d2a632f%3Ag%3AuJwAAOSw5cNYaDZp
  5. I have been tracking this book. When it was first posted, I asked the seller if they could provide a picture of the back of the label. I suspected it was a scam as it was zero feedback and only item for sale. The seller never responded at all to my question. I know I ain't a biddin'
  6. Even though my experience was good, it was a very routine Ebay transaction. I would never do PayPal personal there, here, or with any other dealer. I personally think it violates PP usage and you are also circumventing Ebay in this instance. Regardless though, even if i did trust the seller, you lose protection of PP and your CC as well I believe. Also, unless you have other hands touching the merchandise in shipment and if it does get lost in shipment, screwed you are.
  7. I bought a raw Star Wars #1 that they advertised as 9.4. The pictures were good and detailed. I sent it to CGC and it came back as a 9.6. I paid less than the GPA 9.4 average at the time. That has been a few years so my only transaction I can't complain about.
  8. Super book. Where's Oakman? He covets this book.
  9. I thought Cal was around when I saw this thread had been resuscitated.
  10. I thought this was one of your favorite covers, BP. Must really be loading up the chest for something in the CC auction? Wonderful selection.
  11. In my experience, that doesn't mean they will be graded soon. Depending on what tier/track you subbed under, their turnaround appears now to on time and I wouldn't count on them getting ahead of schedule. So whatever the tier you chose, pretty much think they will be graded by the length of that tier. Remember too, you will not be able to see the grades until the status is marked as shipped and not when it is marked as graded. You should ashamed of yourself - your first submission since joining in 2003 and you live in Florida Good luck with the grades.
  12. I'll take the blame - I have returned recently after a two year absence and all has gone to hell and a handbasket. I broke the boards, the Internet is next
  13. Yeah I mentioned GA/SA specifically as that is what I collect. Some BA may be found and after 1978 or so, I couldn't tell you what a book would be worth nor would I be interested even if it seemed like a good price.
  14. Goodness, Sha, and I thought you started with a bang and the explosion just keeps getting louder - wonderful books.
  15. My first thought was from some ACG title like Forbidden Worlds or Adventures into the Unknown. No real reason other than the quirkiness
  16. Not worth the effort to look for GA/SA books at decent prices at HPB. I've looked through the 4 stores in the past that are near or close enough for a quick drive and just utter garbage in terrible condition and precious prices. Their storage of the books begs for someone to add even more damage.
  17. Are there similar books that you might compare with more recent GPA data (along the same US copy price point/title, desirability? I can't tell you what those may be if any but I do agree the book would be rarer than a US copy. As to what the supply/demand is, I can't imagine as many folks in the market for the Canadian version. I wonder if someone like Silver Surfer or Vintagecomics might have some insight as a couple who live in Canada and are pretty knowledgeable of GA and SA books. Be interesting to hear what people think. Good luck with your search.
  18. September 25, 1946 date stamp - 18 years and a day from 9-24-64 BOD. Very cool book, Jack and not just because of the stamp.
  19. I was going after one of the Filmation Star Trek framed cel lot of two but I passed. They went a bit higher than I was willing as it would have been just a nostalgia buy and don't really collect them but do pick p ST:TOS memorabilia from time to time.
  20. Villainous earrings to villainous ear and nose rings
  21. Remember with Weiss, you can bid through them via phone and the BP is I believe 15% (maybe 17 or 18) and if you pay with check or MO, there is a 2% discount. They have always been great to deal with for all of my transactions over the years. Their live auctions are almost always run through both Proxibid and Liveauctioneers. In reality, you could bid against yourself across all sites
