  1. I thought Cal was around when I saw this thread had been resuscitated.
  2. I thought this was one of your favorite covers, BP. Must really be loading up the chest for something in the CC auction? Wonderful selection.
  3. In my experience, that doesn't mean they will be graded soon. Depending on what tier/track you subbed under, their turnaround appears now to on time and I wouldn't count on them getting ahead of schedule. So whatever the tier you chose, pretty much think they will be graded by the length of that tier. Remember too, you will not be able to see the grades until the status is marked as shipped and not when it is marked as graded. You should ashamed of yourself - your first submission since joining in 2003 and you live in Florida Good luck with the grades.
  4. I'll take the blame - I have returned recently after a two year absence and all has gone to hell and a handbasket. I broke the boards, the Internet is next
  5. Yeah I mentioned GA/SA specifically as that is what I collect. Some BA may be found and after 1978 or so, I couldn't tell you what a book would be worth nor would I be interested even if it seemed like a good price.
  6. Goodness, Sha, and I thought you started with a bang and the explosion just keeps getting louder - wonderful books.
  7. My first thought was from some ACG title like Forbidden Worlds or Adventures into the Unknown. No real reason other than the quirkiness
  8. Not worth the effort to look for GA/SA books at decent prices at HPB. I've looked through the 4 stores in the past that are near or close enough for a quick drive and just utter garbage in terrible condition and precious prices. Their storage of the books begs for someone to add even more damage.
  9. Are there similar books that you might compare with more recent GPA data (along the same US copy price point/title, desirability? I can't tell you what those may be if any but I do agree the book would be rarer than a US copy. As to what the supply/demand is, I can't imagine as many folks in the market for the Canadian version. I wonder if someone like Silver Surfer or Vintagecomics might have some insight as a couple who live in Canada and are pretty knowledgeable of GA and SA books. Be interesting to hear what people think. Good luck with your search.
  10. September 25, 1946 date stamp - 18 years and a day from 9-24-64 BOD. Very cool book, Jack and not just because of the stamp.
  11. I was going after one of the Filmation Star Trek framed cel lot of two but I passed. They went a bit higher than I was willing as it would have been just a nostalgia buy and don't really collect them but do pick p ST:TOS memorabilia from time to time.
  12. Villainous earrings to villainous ear and nose rings
  13. Remember with Weiss, you can bid through them via phone and the BP is I believe 15% (maybe 17 or 18) and if you pay with check or MO, there is a 2% discount. They have always been great to deal with for all of my transactions over the years. Their live auctions are almost always run through both Proxibid and Liveauctioneers. In reality, you could bid against yourself across all sites
  14. The Thrilling #7 and Wonderworld #4 are tough books. I would have jumped all over those but I have copies. The WW is a very much underappreciated Lou Fine cover, imo. The detail on the horses is exquisite. Great pickup, Jim and someone should steal that Thrilling. Some really nice books here, Sha.
  15. If you're asking me about the bargain price, I have no idea whatsoever. I don't collect Actions or DCs at all so I have no clue. I know it is a desirable book but one for my interests.
  16. Yeah I am watching this auction - Philip Weiss' (now run through his wife and family as he has passed). That Action 7 sold for $17,000 (w/o juice). It is listed as: Important Issue with restoration. Tan Pages. Apparent VG+. Rice paper restoration along the interior spine covers, and spine of pages. They are usually fairly accurate on their grading in my experience.
  17. And presenting from DC, the original family-friendly comic publisher, The Codpiece
  18. On my highly doubtful radar of actually being completed but the appeal of Stan "The Man" never wanes...
  19. That's George - JiveTurkeyMoFo https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/profile/906-jiveturkeymofo/ Long-time member and one I trust and have bought from numerous times.
  20. You're better off not giving them your money. Throw some comments on their FB page if they have one or Yelp and such. Just think of it as you saved some money to spent elsewhere.
