  1. Oh wait, this isn't where I buy cool books. Sorry no threadcap intended - I'll delete my post. Oh wait, I can't delete a post any more.
  2. Schomburg purple robed baddies & woman in peril. to green robed baddies & woman in peril...
  3. Now I scared - nothing personal but for those following me, William Shatner said it best - "... I seriously mean it when I say, 'get a life'."
  4. I was hoping for a bong instead. No one follows me, I only have members who ignore me - I feel like Charlie Brown
  5. It is a nice book. Good luck but you have got to fix a few issues like eternalmighty1 says. A couple such as accepted forms of payment and return policy.
  6. I wish they would just go with numeric scale for the color and note whether there is any brittleness. Brittle or slightly brittle pages doesn't constitute a page color nor does white, ow-w, ow, cr-ow, and so on necessarily invoke a page quality. In some sense it could but I see page color and quality as two different animals. Could you not have a better than tan color be brittle as I believe CGC deems if there is any hint of brittleness to the pages of a book, even a very area on one page, say, it gets a SB notation. My worthless ramblings.
  7. It looks like the bullet hasn't reached the headhunter yet - premature reaction/death cover could be a new label note
  8. I miss when Bill (Ponsetti) would always post Exciting Comics #9 in these threads
  9. Deadly Tunes to the Music Master preventing Death
  10. I agree. It's funny when I started collecting back in the early 70s, Marvel Comics 1 was a book I drooled over. Even as a youngster, I wanted a copy, knowing of course, I would not be able to sniff a copy's musty odor let alone buy one. Back in the 80s when I could afford a few low cost GA books, I was drawn to Cap 1 and it has been my holiest of grails ever since. Not that I wouldn't love to own both. The only thing that has remained constant is I still cannot afford either and unless my long-lost relative, a Nigerian Prince, comes through, I never will
  11. Yep it has been down for a few days now.
  12. I hadn't looked back but did report it as I am sure others must have as well.
  13. My assumption is when Ebay tries to recover from the money from the seller's PP account (which is just as fake as the auction), it will be empty or closed he rides on to set up more spurious Ebay and PP accounts to thieve again. The seller may also create phishing, fake invoices to capture the buyer's PP account information and the seller may attempt to divert the buyer to another form of payment.
  14. Intentionally posed or just happen chance? Either way, I got a chuckle - www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Trek-Vintage-Toys-1970s-Walkie-Talkies-Spock-Toy-Guns-/122359014191?hash=item1c7d2a632f%3Ag%3AuJwAAOSw5cNYaDZp
  15. I have been tracking this book. When it was first posted, I asked the seller if they could provide a picture of the back of the label. I suspected it was a scam as it was zero feedback and only item for sale. The seller never responded at all to my question. I know I ain't a biddin'
  16. Even though my experience was good, it was a very routine Ebay transaction. I would never do PayPal personal there, here, or with any other dealer. I personally think it violates PP usage and you are also circumventing Ebay in this instance. Regardless though, even if i did trust the seller, you lose protection of PP and your CC as well I believe. Also, unless you have other hands touching the merchandise in shipment and if it does get lost in shipment, screwed you are.
  17. I bought a raw Star Wars #1 that they advertised as 9.4. The pictures were good and detailed. I sent it to CGC and it came back as a 9.6. I paid less than the GPA 9.4 average at the time. That has been a few years so my only transaction I can't complain about.
  18. Super book. Where's Oakman? He covets this book.
